We are Part of the Earth We usually think that we are something separate, distinct or different to the Earth. When we think that, of course it opens the way for us in our minds to justify our abuse of the Earth. To rob its precious metals and minerals, to control, destroy and profit from its vegetable and animal life. We think that the Earth and us are different, that the Earth will keep on living even if we continue to abuse the Earth. The truth is though that we are really an important part of the Earth. We are actually an organ of the Earth. The Earth is really our Mother, she is the one that gives us life and sustains our life. We are the ones that are dependent on her. How wrong our way of thinking is. It is also important to say at this point though, that she the Earth is in some way, dependent on us as well, we will see how later on in this post. Certain periods of our life and our esoteric work require more the use of will more than anything else. Will and the Work on the Ego There are times in the work on the ego where we get stuck. We repeat the same mistakes every day and what’s more we look forward to it and something inside us enjoys making them. We have a problem we are on the side of the ego. We know that to dissolve the ego we have to first get to be on the side of wanting to dissolve it and then next on the side of action, that is actually dissolving it. To get to that side we have to at times use will, more than anything else. Of course, if we can complement the use of will with other qualities such as love, positive thinking then that will greatly help. Each Day We all have a certain number of days to live. It makes sense that we try to live each day as intensely as possible. Use each day to take a step further towards our goals. Each day is a new opportunity. Each day is a new beginning. If we failed yesterday then today is your time to succeed. Each day is a life in miniature. If we do well in our day we will do well in life. Because really our life is the sum of all of the days we have lived. Start of the Day This is most important. If we start our day well the rest of it tends to unfold that way. Wake up early! This is the best way to get ahead. If we wake up early and get all that we need for the day organised, all the better. The clearer we feel and the better our morale towards the coming day is. On the other hand when we sleep in we miss or lose a big chunk of the day. Definition The best definition of sacrifice comes from Master Samael when he says that sacrifice is the conscious or clairvoyant choice of one good to superior to another. There is much that can be said about this. This blog is going to concentrate on examining sacrifice from the point of view of the psychological work. In the Psychological Work There comes a point in the work of the ego where we can become stagnated. There could be many reasons for this, however one of the main ones is that we don’t want to sacrifice the ego. We use the ego for to get or do something and over time we have become attached to using it and attached to what it gives us. You know, we may need what it gives us, but usually when the ego gives something to us it does it harming or disadvantaging others or it gives something to us that is later a disservice to us. The Question: This is the question why have we come to the creation. The answer, or actually to be more correct an answer is the following. The Answer: Answer One Maybe the most the realistic answer is karma. Even Master Samael says that at the dawn of creation the Gods cried. Because they knew that coming to creation meant that they had to pay their unpaid karmic debts. Karma or the law of cause and effect is only processed in creation where there is relativity and duality at work. Important! What is very important in the Gnostic Esoteric Work is to have invigorate each and every day your resolution to dissolve the ego or a given ego or to achieve your esoteric goals. Why? Without a firm resolution or a firm yearning to dissolve the ego or a given ego for example, we become lukewarm or weak in our work. A strong resolution or wanting, is our background strength or our backbone. Our resolution is the one that makes us to fight against the impulses of the ego and to move forward in its dissolution. Our resolution is like a reminder to work on that ego. Our resolution helps in remembering the work. A strong resolution helps us to do well in the work on the ego especially in the moment when the ego manifests. A person of the opposite sex may be beautiful or handsome but what happens in us after that is the result of what we have inside us in the form of what we call lust. What is Lust Then? Lust is a collection of impressions relating to sexuality. Lust is multi-faceted and it pertains to our sexuality. The goal of the Hermetic Seal is to save energy, so that that saved energy can be invested in our psychological and esoteric work. How is it Practiced? The Hermetic Seal is a practice where as soon as we wake up, we make the firm decision to not identity with anything. This ‘anything’ includes thoughts, emotions, memories, internal images, events, people, words and any sort of impression that we receive during the day. A Worthwhile Goal It is really worthwhile to use each day of our precious life, to take a step further toward some sort of goal. As we are studying the Gnosis the most beneficial goal that we can have in the beginning, is the fabrication of the seminal pearl . While studying Gnosis and esotericism we can invent so many goals for ourselves. Though not all of them are really worthwhile. The most worthwhile goal that I can think of is something that can not be lost with time and directly benefits our essence and its development. Such a goal has to do with the dissolution of the ego. I say this because whichever ego is eliminated stays dissolved for the existence it has been eliminated in, as well as in any future existences, unless of course, it is resuscitated or recreated.
