Starting Your Day Well

I have found that to have a good in any arena or field of life, and that includes the Gnostic esoteric work, one of the most important factors to take into account, is the way in which we start the day. It is a surprise as to how important this really is.

Anyhow, this post is dedicated to introduce to you to some of the factors that really matter when it comes whether you experience a positive edifying and useful day (a good day) or a miserable, tedious, painful day.

Importance of a Good Start

Start your day off well. If you are working towards a goal then get to the business of making that goal happen early in the morning before you have to go to work or start the morning’s chores.

Why is this so important? Well, I’ll tell you. Starting the day off well that is working on fulfilling your goals boosts you morale. With a high morale coming from the day’s early morning triumph we have the stimulus that we need to keep pushing ourselves during the day to work toward achieving our goals.

Another important factor is actually doing the morning practice. If we do the morning practice sincerely well, putting a lot of effort and heart into it, you can rest assured that the results of the practice will leave a mark in you that will put you in the mode to continue practicing or working toward your goal for the whole rest of the day.

Disadvantages of Bad Start

If we for example are lazy at the beginning of the day then we will have missed taken advantage of the morning and we will start eh day late and with a low morale. To get back on track again, even though it can be done, requires much more effort. Because it is like the horse or the runner that is trailing behind, in order for eh runner or horse to get into the front line it not only has to keep up but work harder to pass the other runners or horse to get to the front.

I have always had the philosophy of starting well, getting to the front line as soon as possible and then keeping oneself there.

Preparation the Night Before

Use the night before the morning, to organise the things you have to do in the following day. To list all the things that you have to do tomorrow so that you have in your mind what you need to do, that way you will have some extra stimulus to get up because it is always a lot easier to get up when there is something for us to do that bring us enjoyment.

Conclusion

Plan your day the night before and use your will combined with positive imagination and emotion about the enjoyment you will get by doing the activities you had planned the night before.

Kundalini

Gnostic Perspective

The way Kundalini is studied in Gnosis is from the perspective that every human being has within their own nature a particular aspect of the Divine Mother. Gnosis affirms that we all have an individual Divine Mother.
This differs from the perspective of the Divine Feminine or God the Mother (as opposed to God the Father) that the religions present. They present the Divine or God the Mother in an external aspect as the Cosmic mother or as Mother Nature.

Knowledge of the Individual Divine Mother – Esoteric Knowledge

That knowledge of having a particular or individual Divine Mother corresponds to the initiatic or esoteric orders and or schools. Because only through Her can we enter the initiatic path. The knowledge of an individual/particular Divine Mother corresponds to an initiatic or esoteric knowledge. It is not common knowledge. It is actually a secret that now, is no longer a secret but in the past was certainly a very zealously kept secret.

Known by Many Names

The alchemists said that the kundalini is the astral signature of the sacred sperm. She was also known as the virgin of the Sea or Stella Maris. That is the one who guides those who navigate the stormy seas of carnal passion win the work of the Alchemy.

She has been known by so many names and she has her mysteries which only really the initiate can penetrate. She is invisible to the common man and her veil covers her mysteries.

Something that is interesting is that to the medieval Alchemists she was known as the astral signature of the mercury. That is she was known as the astral mark in the sexual mercury or in other words the astral mark in our sexual energy. So in conclusion here, she is in our sexual energy, that is in our raw mercury as the astral signature or mark.

Alchemists – Astral Signature of the Mercury or the Sacred Sperm.

We know from occultism that there is a certain relationship between the Astral world and the Akash. The Akash seems to be make up the matter of the Astral world. We also know from our studies in occultism that Akash is a modification of Prana and Akash is also the Mulaprakriti and it is also the Great Cosmic Mother. Akash has been said to be a great fire and also a great chaos and a great womb where everything gestates and from where everything comes from.

In Our occult Anatomy

She is part of our occult anatomy, she is within our nature, she is our very own Akash. She is coiled three and a half times around a certain lingam in our coccyx. She is actually located in our Muladhara chakra.

Coiled Three and a Half Times

Being coiled three and a half times represents all of creation. The three coils or turns represent the three Gunas and the half turn represents the Kliphos (Kabbalistic term). The three Gunas are the three classifications of all matter. The three Gunas cover the whole extent of creation, all except the Kliphos or the abyss. So with the three and a half turns, the whole of creations is represented.

The three Gunas: Sattva, Tamas and Rayas

The three Gunas are Sattva, Tamas and Rayas. Sattva is harmony, agreement, peace and beauty. While Tamas is activity, passion, heightened activity and Tamas is inertia and repose. There are even people that are either Sattvic, Rayasic and Tamasic. There are even foods that fit into these three categories as well. The most interesting thing is to find out where our tendency is to. Is it Sattva, Tamas or Rayas?

What Can She Do?

She can take us up or she can takes us down via that half circle where there is the abyss. So in her is the up or down and that is present in the three and a half turns. If we get polarised with negative aspect of the three Gunas we end up moving towards that extra half turn and ending up there.

The kundalini gives us the powers over our elemental elements. There is nothing really spectacular or physical about it. The kundalini also awakens the chakras and the esoteric faculties of the initiate. She gives us power over internal elements and nature, she allows the initiate to control our inner nature.

The Kundalini comes to restore balance inside of us. Kundalini is a great fire within us that is an electronic force aligned with electricity rather than matter. There are three triple powers within is that correspond to the law of three. It is the law of three creating power and there is the law of seven organising and directing the action of the law of three.

As the Kundalini is our own particular Akash she is in all of our atoms and as she is our particular or a representation on the individual level of eh great Akash she is the great womb from where we have come from and from where we will go. So She knows us supremely well and she knows what we will be. As she creates she also has the power to destroy that is why she is the rightful one to have the power to disintegrate the ego as she is in every one of our atoms and she can create and destroy.

Conclusion

Our particular Divine Mother in the aspect of kundalini is there resting in our coccyx or in our Muladhara chakra, coiled three and a half times around a lingnam and the lingnam is inside a marvellous yoni. This marvellous yoni looks like an egg which has the name kanda. Connected to that kanda is 72,000 nadis. Inside the kanda is the accumulation of all the Prana and Akash. There is really a tremendous energy source there, that if it were to break through the kanda all that energy would travel through all those 72,000 nadi’s to all the different parts of the body.

When through the practice of sexual magic (union of man and woman without spilling the sexual energy – not prana yama) the two currents unite at the base of the coccyx they produce sparks that awaken the kundalini and when it is sufficiently awakened it breaks through the kanda and all the energy travels through the 72,000 nadis and lights up our body and system with light. It is like now a city received electricity to its main grid and all the light of the city light up.

The conclusion here is that we have to wake up the Kundalini. Not by breathing exercises or by praying or by prana yama but by sexual magic. That is by union of man and woman in divine repose, praying and chanting mantras and not ever once spilling the sacred sperm or sexual energy or secretions.

Awareness of Cause and Effect – an Aspect of Awakening

Qualities of an Awakened Consciousness

The are many qualities that can be assigned to an awakened consciousness, and one of them as we have learnt from our Gnostic classes is the awareness of cause and effect.

We learnt that a person who is awakened or is awakening at one or another level will be before he or she acts aware of the effects that his or her action or actions will unfold.

We were also taught that the awakened or awakening person is interested more in results than in effects.

Sleeping Consciousness and Cause & Effect

Unfortunately the sleeping consciousness and the many “I’s” that we have are the ones that among so many other things are not aware of the cause and effect process and the results of our actions.

By making ourselves aware of the possible cause and effect process before we act we are allowing our consciousness to intervene. That is something highly advantageous, as it may be powerful enough in that moment to displace any “I” or ego that is in our human machine and if the consciousness is the one that acts the results will not be more karma or complication.

The “I” and Cause & Effect

There are my egos in us that are not aware of the cause and effect process, even the good egos lack the vision of cause and effect. I would like to use the rest of this post to carry out an investigation into the good “I’s” lack of vision.

Especially in Australia, being a personality trait is to always say yes mostly when we want to say no. Why is this done? Because we think we are going to upset or hurt the other person, or that we are going to be seen as difficult and unlikeable, or perhaps finally to say no is against some sort of ideal that we have in our mind.
There are a few relatively deep seated beliefs behind this behaviour. Please read on for an investigation into some of these beliefs.

Why is it Difficult to say No?

To find out in our case why it is so difficult to say no we have to investigate by asking ourselves several questions and accepting nothing but sincere answers.

When we inquire within, asking ourselves why we find it hard to say or do something that we suppose another person will dislike to disagree with what do we find? We may find the following:
  •          A liking to say yes, a certain something inside us likes to please others.
  •          A certain something likes the positive attention and expression of contentment coming from others toward us.
  •          A certain something likes to be the person that is flexible, agreeable, compliant, the total opposite of a difficult person.
  •          We remember when we meet with a person that said no, and the result was, that in us, when they said no we were hurt and ended up forming a certain negative concept about them. In fact we ended up not liking them and feeling scared of them, and of course we don’t want others to see us in that way.

Negative Concepts – Most Powerful Reason

The last reason seems to be the one that has the most weight in ourselves. Analysing this a little deeper, we are really victims of our own concepts. We create concepts of others and then we behave in a way so that others don’t create the same concepts of us.

If we did not create those negative concepts we would not think that others create the same concepts and so we would behave differently.

We don’t mind to say no to others that are in our family because we know that they won’t create a negative concept of us. That is why we are scared to say no to people that we don’t know so well or don’t have that level of relationship or trust with them.

We think to do or say something that another will not like or disagree with is to go against the flow of the environment. This gives us the perception that what we are going to do is taboo or it is something that can not be done.

All the negative concepts that we create about others is a wound that we inflict on ourselves. Our negative concepts come back to haunt us.

The Good “I’s” and Cause and Effect

We are very attached to the good egos or “I’s” that we have because we believe that they do good things. However, really it is more like that they get a lot of things wrong and the result is not really all that good, that is no one really benefits. Usually a few people including us are inconvenienced.

The good “I” that we have just talked about and mentioned is one that routinely ignores the cause and effect process of its actions. Even being good it does not do the good. If our consciousness was active in the moment where we usually act with the good we may get a big surprise. Why? Because the consciousness may just do nothing, not get involved or it may produce the impulse to say No!

Conclusion

The ego whichever ego be it good or bad is ignorant of the cause and effect process. So, in order to act correctly in life and develop a means of displacing the ego we need to remember the process of cause and effect in every action that we take and in every word that we speak and in every decision that we make.

It is a very powerful means to stop us from making so many stupid errors that have very costly consequences. It will also help us to understand more and more the actual negative consequences of the ego. We come to know the ego more and become aware of its sleeping condition.

To Be and To Know

One or the Other?

There are two factors in life, they are to be and to know. There are always two, we can at no point along the way omit one. They are ever present. We may embrace only one and reject the other one, even though we do that the one we reject is still there within us. In fact they are really dependent upon each other, they are co-dependent.

Crux of the Matter

The whole crux of the matter is how do we relate to these two aspects of our life. Do we just develop one of them or do we develop both or do we develop none of them. What we decide to do in a surprising way determines who and what we become in life.

Which is Best? Both, Only One or None?

We say in Gnosis that the best of the three options is to develop both of them, but in, or with balance.

If we only develop one of them then we become very one sided or lob sided. For example if we just develop the Know we become a very wise and intellectual rascal, and on the other hand if we develop only the Being we become like the stupid saint. We are so good that we end up making stupid decisions and people inevitably, in life, end up taking advantage of that too good quality and use to do evil.

I think you see that the best to develop both of them together. We have to know if we are developing them evenly and if we are not we must correct that imbalance within us. If we don’t our spiritual progress will sooner or later reach a standstill.

If we Know too Much We have To Be

This is really the conclusion of this post. We may get to the point where we know so much about ourselves, about our egos and about life but in front of the events, the temptations, the situations where we know what the right to do is -  we simply fail, we don’t do it we ARE NOT, in other words we are not being what we know. There is some disconnection there.

We have to remedy this imbalance by working on the go, by dying within ourselves and actually acting out what we know. That is really what we have to do if we don’t want to develop a double life, a double personality.

That is the danger of too much knowing and not enough being, we become scoundrels where we are very astute, we know how to manipulate situations and others to get what we want which is usually for the invested interests of the ego and we create a double secret life where we are rotten when no one is looking and we are great virtuous when people are looking.

The Ego and Cancer

From the Gnostic point of view there is a link between the sickness known as Cancer and the ego.

If we read a little about the disease called cancer we will discover that it is a disease that destroys the body’s cells. It is something malignant that operates from within our very body’s cells and destroys them. The ego is certainly like that.

The “I” is in Our Cells

The ego is something that is within our psyche and within our body and its cells also. The ego as you may know has a very genetic component. There are some egos that allow us to feel good and then there are other egos that make us to feel terrible and there are other egos that by their action and even presence in our human machine make us to feel ill.

The egos that go against us such as fear, self-pity and self-compassion, anxiety, nervousness etc. are the ones that work against us and damage our body and its cells. If the ego is not worked on it will in time gain strength and spread its control over the body and over our life as well. It spreads very much like a cancer. It starts of small but gains in strength and size and takes control.

“I” of Lust & its Effects

There is one ego though that we often ignore, and it is lust but more importantly fornication. We never forget about fear because we know that it predominantly makes us to feel awful. It is a very unpleasant experience and one that is hard to forget. However, when it comes to lust there are two sides. One side is that while we are engaged in it and are feeding or pleasing it, it for many is people is an experience that produces pleasurable sensations. The result though or what happens after it is pleased to satiation is not at all pleasurable. The result of lust and more importantly fornication is pain! This is always the case! (Don’t fool yourself thinking that it is not always the case).

It is really this after effect that is so harmful for our body and its cells, our psyche or essence and our Being. We know in Gnosis that the karma or the result of fornication, which is the act of spilling the sexual energy (semen in men and sexual secretions in women) is cancer.

Cancer – Karma for Fornication

This is something at first very surprising, alarming and shocking. Why? Because we think that Cancer is something deadly and fornication is something that does not kill or hurt anyone and it is something harmless for others and ourselves. However, if we accept this Gnostic teaching and we think about it again, we have to come to the conclusion that for fornication to result in cancer, fornication has to be something serious and something very damaging to the body.

Why?

With some esoteric knowledge this gap in understanding can be solved. First of all let’s see what the sexual energy is. The sexual energy is the end result of all the various transformations of the prana that body takes in. Note, Prana is the great life, the energy that is of the energy and substance of life. It is what sustains life, it is life itself, it sis the force of life. Everyone has a certain quantity of it and while we have it we have life, when Prana leaves us, life leaves us.

In summary, because there is a much longer explanation to all this, the sexual energy, that is the raw sexual energy the seminal entity (sacred sperm in men and sacred sexual secretions in women) is the accumulation of Prana that we breathe in and we absorb through what we eat and what we think. So then the sexual energy in us is life, because it comes from Prana, because it comes from what gives us life and sustains our life. So then when we fornicate or ejaculate the seminal entity or somehow loose the sexual energy we are losing life force. We are losing the force that sustains our life and holds all the cells together and keeps the cells living and regenerating themselves.

Conclusion

So if we are losing that condensed prana, or creative energy or life force we are not going to be able sustain the regeneration of our cells and we weaken our vitality or vital energies. That is one aspect which is essentially cause and effect, however, there is another aspect or side to it, and that is karma. After years of losing that energy in say an abusive way or in an overly excessive way then the accumulated karma catches up with us and we are forced to pay all at once in painful instalments. Obviously the payment is always to suffer in the same way that we have made others or ourselves to suffer. The trick though is by losing all that sexual energy in the past due to ignorance we suffered only a little the ego of fornication enjoyed doing what it did but we have to pay for that abuse against ourselves against the one who provides us with the life force by having our own present current life force depleted or eroded away. The agent to erode or deplete our life force is nothing other than a horrible disease such as cancer or aids or something like that.

Repentance

Repentance is something extraordinarily important when it comes to the question of dissolving the ego, or using other terms correcting our errors or dissolving the causes inside of us that make us to make all kinds of mistakes and errors or lead us to sin (to use the Christian terminology for errors).

A State of Consciousness

Repentance is a more than anything else a state of consciousness. It is one that appears in us for a short time only. When we feel repentance we are able to see with our consciousness the full gravity of our errors, or in other words we are able to see the harm and the error that is in the “I”. We may feel shame for having acted with this ego and shame or actually having this ego.

When the consciousness is actively repenting there is light and profound comprehension of “I” or our errors. The consciousness produces a movement inside of one that moves us away from the “I” and can be powerful enough to allow produce in our consciousness and psychology the ability to not identify or act with this ego again.

Duration of

It is a very powerful state that often is accompanied with conscious suffering and pain and does not as mentioned before does not last very long. It tends to last for duration that is needed for the consciousness to realise the reality of the “I” and its errors. If it were actually to last longer the human being would be in trouble. No human being could stand a continuous prolonged state of repentance because it would be too painful.

Precursors: Separation and Comprehension

Before repentance can appear we need to have a degree of separation and a degree of comprehension. Actually separation is an aspect of comprehension. Separation also is a state of consciousness where we see that or rather we know that the problem is really the ego in us and that we are not the ego. The ego or “I” is something separate to us. We fully understand in relation to that ego that we are the essence and it is an ego or “I” that we have to dissolve.

With comprehension we come to understand the specifics about eh role and function of that ego and we see how we don’t need it in our life and that we can solve situations in life by another means and not by using this ego. We may even also come to comprehend that the ego is a wrong functioning of one of our Being’s particular functions.

If we have processed some of the above with our consciousness we have prepared our conscious one day to process (experience) repentance in relation to one ego that we have understood or even in relation to the complete myself or the complete egoical structure that we have.

Repentance and Forgiveness

Repentance and forgiveness go hand and hand. Once we repent we can be pardoned or forgiven. When we repent when we feel repentance then we can ask for forgiveness from our Intimate Christ and from our Divine Mother.

When repentance appears in us we naturally will ask for forgiveness. Because the consciousness will be present and the consciousness is not pride, so it won’t resent others being above us while we are below them, and we are the ones that have made such grave mistakes.

Sublimation of the Sexual Energy

Introduction

Much is said in the Gnostic studies about transmutation and sublimation. Those who study Gnosis know that sublimation is the main aim or rather the pinnacle of what we can and should do with the sexual energy.

We know that it is necessary to transmute the sexual energy and that by itself, transmutation is truly wonderful, much better in all the senses then losing the sexual energy. But we know that what is better still, that of a higher octave than transmutation is to be able to sublimate the sexual energy.

This post gives one version of what the sublimation of the sexual energy is.

Transmutation

Transmutation in the general sense is essentially the transformation of one substance to another. However in Gnostic circles transmutation is more commonly known in terms of the transformation of the raw sexual energy.

Transmutation is the conscious act of transforming the raw sexual energy into energy or what is called Mercury. Not the raw mercury which is the sacred sperm or the seminal entity but the transmuted mercury. This is the second of the three mercuries spoken about in Gnosis.

The three mercuries are: one – the raw mercury that is the raw sexual energy, the sacred sperm, the seminal entity or the sexual secretions in women, two –the transmuted raw sexual energy and three – the transmuted sexual energy fecundated by the fire of the Divine mother which is also known as the red mercury which is the kundalini.

The second mercury is achieved in the transmutation and it is where the metallic soul of the sexual energy is extracted by means of conscious will and imagination from the raw sexual energy. The metallic soul is pure energy, it is no longer a mixture of liquid, matter and energy. This energy once extracted can freely travel up the various subtle energy conductors in the spine (the main two being Ida and pingala) to reach the brain.

During a transmutation practice one may definitely feel heat, an increase in vitality and clarity. This is because the extracted sexual energy is filling the body and the brain. The interesting thing is that the transmutation to be effective only requires will, imagination and concentration and that is really marvellous. However, what is important for us to know is that there exists a superior octave of the transmutation and that is what we call sublimation. We in our practices have to go from transmutation which can be something technical, to sublimation. We all have to arrive at a sublimation of our sexual energies.

Emotion and the Sexual energy

The message of this post is to really put across the point of how important a role the emotional centre plays in the transmutation and sublimation of the sexual energy. I would say that the emotional centre is really the critical focal point or the central pivot of the whole practice with our sexual energies.

If we have an emotional state aligned with transmutation then we will transmute well, though if the emotional state is aligned with the ego and the loss of the sexual energy the practice will end with a loss of sexual energy, or if not a loss, one could be left with a lot of pain in the testicles of the male which is due to exciting the energy and not moving it through transmutation.

Essentially the sexual energy follows the mind, though when emotions are present it follows the mind or the emotions even more powerfully and rapidly.

To sublimate we need a mystical emotion. Within that mystical emotion is self-remembering where we remember the Being and we are conscious that this energy that we are transmuting must go back to the Being. That is to our real Being, or the source of our existence or the very reason for why we are here and have consciousness and life coursing through ourselves.

Mysticism

I want briefly to clarify something about mysticism, typically we think that mysticism is to be like a saint or like Saint Francis of Assisi but this is not really how it has to be. Mysticism is to see the magic and mystery of life everywhere around us and to feel part of all of that magical life force and mystery. Not necessarily to be praying the commonly known prayers while kneeling and walking around with our hands joined together as if we are praying.

Sublimation

So then sublimation is to activate and vibrate intensely with a kind of mysticism while transmuting the sexual energy. Then with our focus due to this mysticism on the Being the transmuted energy will go to the Being and crystallise in the form of soul.

This mysticism which is a state of consciousness understands why we have the sexual energy and from where it originates from. We know that the supplier is the Being and that this energy is really here for us to have it crystallised in the form of an inner creation. That inner creation is our solar bodies and our soul or golden embryo. This state of mysticism always incorporates a kind of self-remembering or remembering of the Being.

Conclusion

Sublimation has to be our goal, that is the best thing that we do with to the sexual energy, to return it to the Being so to fix it in our Being. If we are sublimating the sexual energy we can feel at peace because by cause and effect it crystallises in us as soul, but before that it transforms the colours of our waters and brings about one day the fecundation of our transmuted sexual waters with the fire of the Divine Mother which will be the awakening of the kundalini and the opening of the initiatic path.
