Each Generation is Weaker - (4527)

That is a teaching but what does that mean for us who are a generation or two down from the resurgence of the teachings by the master. Its definitely true, people these days throw  a fit if they have to drive twenty minutes to come to a class and back in Master Samael's times students would walk hours up and through the mountains to attend the meetings. Well it means that we as sincere aspirants to the path and to our Beings can't allow ourselves to follow that weakening trend, we have to know that to keep strong in the efforts, sacrifices and even super-efforts when required is the way to go by. Simply because it works. It worked back then and will work now. The weaker and lesser efforts do not work.  The path is the same now as it was back then, so how can the lesser efforts be effective? End (4527).

Constantly Watching Oneself - (4524)

We all want to dissolve our psychological defects right? One thing we realize is that we need to be watching ourselves. When we see we can die in ourselves... To see we have to watch ourselves. But we feel that is boring. But we are a world. A whole new world. The world of ourselves. There is so much to know within that world. So much to discover... If we have the attitude of novelty, the attitude of finding out something new, the attitude of pure discovery - we can get 'stuck into' watching ourselves. Our mind poses obstacles, it feels sensually deprived and an emotional dry vacuum appears. We have to persist and push past this to arrive at the the place where the mind starts to delight in the super-sensuous. The feeling of self-discovery and the feeling and satisfaction of us changing. End (4524).

'The Relationship To' is the Value and Answer Why - (4523)

Often people complain silently or out loud as to why they don't have experiences with their Divine Mother or the parts of their Being and they often feel envy at ,or disbelief of the experiences that others have with their interior Divinity. The bridge, value or key to these experiences is the relationship. A person who experiences their interior Divinity more often, is due to them having cultivated a good relationship with their inner Divinity. Negative self-compassion and all sorts of negativity is not the way to establish a good relationship to our inner Divinity. A good relationship through prayer, work on ourselves, devotion, meditation, veneration and sending love from the heart.... The good relationship which is a tremendous value in itself becomes the bridge to receive from the interior Divinity. To have created a good relationship means to have given A LOT! Once again we find ourselves wanting a lot but have given little. Even in human life, there are so many fruits of a g...

Three Lines of Work in a School - (4522)

In classic teachings from Gurdjieff there are three lines of work a member of a school takes part in. 1.) First Line: Work for one's own awakening 2.) Second Line: Work to help others awaken. 3.) Third Line: Work to help the teacher and maintain the school. The three lines of work are best done in balance. The three lines are complete - they in general cover all aspects of the work in a school or centre. To leave out one of these aspects means to not be working in the fullest way... In the beginning we only work with the first line. Later we include the second, and later the third. That's the general order.  The longer we are in a school the more we can expand to cover all three lines of work.  If we just concentrate on the first line we become selfish and then stagnate. If we just concentrate on the third line we become too identified with the school and then we fall back in our awakening. If we concentrate on the second line only we forget ourselves and sooner or later ru...

The Values as Dissolvers - (4521)

We can use any value or virtue we have as a dissolver of wrong internal states.  For example, our sincere love for the sexual energy of our Inner Being when brought into the centres of our human machine can displace and even dissolve the wrong states of consciousness produced by any "I" of lust. If we bring that value that we already have consciously to our human machine, we can dissolve that internal state.   If we don't have a value we can't bring it. So bring a value we have to learn it and cultivate it. End (44521).

Appearances - Fear & Pride - (4519)

Appearances in human psychology is about speaking and acting in a way to produce the impression in others that things are better than they really are, or that things are ok when they are not. We do this for many reasons. Some to not worry and disappoint others unnecessarily and some for purely egotistical reasons. In any case the truth is always the best thing even if it hurts and causes worry. Time always shows through any appearance that we try keep.  It is actually in the end a much more costly and difficult work to keep an appearance than fix the gap between the appearance and reality or simply drop the appearance. It is even so much hard work to later undo the appearance. Appearances can lead to developing a second life which is more sufferings as well. To not worry others is only really valid when we know we can fix things and on purpose we keep things simple with others while giving ourselves time to sort things out and align the appearance with the truth. Purely egotistical...

Fear is Conditioned by Time and Space - (5345)

Fear like many egos is conditioned by time and space. Even though we feel fear days before a scary event the only real time to be scared is at a specific moment and at a specific location. For example, if we are scared of public speaking, the only time when we should really feel fear is when we are on stage, at the podium in front of an audience and about to speak. Not a day before, not a hour before, not even a minute before and not a minute after. Because a day or even an hour before we are relaxed at home or with friends well in our comfort zone not doing anything scary. This really applies to all fears. Fear is conditioned to work only in a very short period of time at a very specific location. However, we have taken it out of proportion and made it to work outside of that specific moment and location. Our work is to reduce our fear until it is eliminated to that moment and that specific parcel of space. Even though this is not eliminating fear it is greatly reducing fear by bringi...

Notes on Conditioning of the Past - (4514)

The right way to look at the past is to look at it with hope. Because by seriously working on the past we can create new strengths. If we have no past of weakness there is nothing to transform into strength. Thanks to the past weaknesses we can now develop new strengths. Redemption and the past are linked. We don't redeem ourselves from the future nor the present. No past then nothing to redeem ourselves from. But yet we are fallen and so there is much to redeem ourselves from. Our inner redemption is complete when we have cancelled the cause of our falls in the past. The key to redeeming ourselves is the past, and ridding ourselves of that inner guilty feeling to our Inner Being is seriously transforming the past. When we have transformed the past we no longer feel guilty. Because the possibility making an error again is gone because now there is a new strength and no possibility of erring. Every weakness of the past can be transformed into a real strength.  The past holds strengt...

Karmic Sway - (4517)

When there is heavy karma, any act that is benevolent, kind, warm, co-operative, harmonious etc. in an instant is washed away with the opposite: anger, dislike, resentment, schism etc. The force of karma itself doesn't permit that these positive values prevail. With a superior will and consciousness, with a superior love for the Being and others we remain steady and not swayed by the force of karma, and allow the positive values to prevail. The qualities of the Inner Being are ones that are really powerful and strong to overcome the very heavy weights of karma... Our mind, personality and egos are no way near strong enough as powers to overcome the heavy karmas that we have. They instead make it much heavier. Especially strong and powerful are love, trust, faith and hope to overcome the very heavy karmas that we all have. End (4517).

Affirm, Love and Trust the Being - (4518)

In general to weaken the "I's" of fear or distrust, self-doubt and self-wallowing in negativity we need to more than ever strengthen our love and trust in our inner Being. Affirm the presence of the inner Being in us, trusting in It and loving It.  Simply doing it by feeling and willing in our heart that we love our Being and that we trust our Being above all else. Really making inner efforts that the love and trust we are feeling goes deep into ourselves and really convinced to not let that love and trust down.  This will help us to weaken those "I's". End (4518).

Always can Agree on Gratitude - (4516)

When there is some kind of conflict there is always some kind of common ground in which two or more parties can agree upon. A most wonderful common ground to agree upon showing each other's humanity is gratitude. Grateful to the Earth for feeding and maintaining us, gratitude for the common help of others, gratitude to the Divinity for giving us life and a healthy body, gratitude to the all Avatars for teachings us the knowledge to free the souls from suffering. If at first there is not much to agree upon in the way of gratitude, just keep going, there will always be something that strikes both gratitude heart strings. Gratitude always has a way of working itself into our minds and hearts.  End (4516).

16 to 18 Hours a Day to Awaken - (4515)

How many hours a day do we need to spend work to awaken? Like 16 to 18 hours a day. Maybe true maybe not, just to put it out there, some will know well the truth, some will be impressed and say wow but do nothing, some will be impacted and increase all efforts, and some will scoff... End (4515).

Psychological Triage - (4513)

After an intense manifestation of an "I" for whatever reason - the triage is to do something to return to normal or as close to normal as possible. That's the number one priority. Return to normal. Breathe, relax, don't apply pressure on yourself, let go of thoughts and and patiently release tension of thought and emotion. For our own good.  When normalising, sparks of common sense and sparks of the work come to us and allows us to see better.  When normal we can then go over what happened. We can reflect, discover and understand. Then we can do something constructive. When upset - thinking is unbalanced and negative and leads to more negative outcomes. It is much better to normalize first and as we do our thinking and feeling becomes more rational and sensible.  So in summary, normalise first then once normal work psychosocially and esoterically. End (4513).

If Tired while Meditating - Try Kneeling - (4511)

If we are falling asleep while meditating we can try switching to kneeling.  It's not as easy to meditate while kneeling, but it still is a position of openness and silence where we can open up and give to pray deeply as well as receive from the cosmos and from inside ourselves. End (4511).

Working with the Conditioning from the Past - (4510)

The past is a factor that conditions our consciousness. The conditioning of the past provides a base for many egos. Such as self-love, resentment, self-pity, fear etc. This post presents a few points to do with releasing ourselves from this powerful conditioning factor. The most important thing to know for any conditioning factor is to know how to get out of it and how to avoid strengthening it and creating more of it When we make a mistake straight away tell ourselves that that moment is gone and work immediately to fix things physically and work psychologically so that it won't repeat. Don't argue about it or issue reprimands and reproaches. We have to learn how to forget the past. A wise forgetting. Forget the hurt and pain but not forget the lessons for our consciousness.  We can't erase our memory but we need to select wisely what we remember. Don't remember the sadness, remember the remedy that the sadness created. The more we cultivate the work memory the weaker ...

Work Logic of Getting Things - (4502)

To get something in life we usually just apply or ask and if it doesn't work out we apply some pressure/force or we compare, we complain or we produce a kind of threat or we escalate the issue to the courts or to some kind of tribunal of justice. That's life's logic. More often than not it works as long as what we want is legal and reasonable. In some places the law of corruption works which side steps the above process and the most needed favour or 'right' amount of money 'under the table' opens all the doors.  The logic of the work is similar but the fight is inward and about values. If we want something esoteric we usually ask for it to start the process. Applying pressure, comparing, complaining and threatening do not work because the holders of the esoteric value we seek are not afraid, nor sentimental nor unjust. When the right value is present to the right degree they open the doors. Not before then.  It's not wrong for us to fight for something e...

Don't Crush Others - (4508)

Please don't ruin others. Correct them and help them to be better for their sake - working with them to the extent that they want to be helped. And extending it as they receive the help and change. If they don't accept the help then accept them and be happy with them until other consequences unfold... To say in absolute terms that there is no hope and can't this and can't that is to act towards failing a person.  Such impressions in a way forces people to transform those impressions by bringing out the force of their essence and Being to throw aside that crushing force and stand up against those impressions and inwardly rebel by not believing the implications that the mind creates based on those impressions. Such impressions can have a positive result of bringing our a person strength, though the norm is that people react with anger or self-pity or hopelessness.  Because any kind of absolute is a strong impression, it also just depends who issues the impression. If it i...

Stop Time - (4505)

To put it simply, there is objective and subjective time. Objective time is the clock ticking, seconds and minutes passing - the sun rising and the sun setting. Subjective time is our sense of time. Where time seems to pass quickly or time seems to pass slowly and this sense of time is different for each individual. We really recuperate psychologically when we are able to 'stop time'. That is stop our subjective time, stop our sense of time. We often stop our sense of subjective time when we pray, when we meditate or when we just go to a cafe', a park, the ocean, relax our centres and reflect or read simply something of a nature that we intuitively feel will help us inwardly - spiritually, an 'EL' for example.  People seek to 'stop time' and they do this by watching TV, reading, playing games etc. But for people trying to awaken, this is not a useful way to do it. But much better at times then other things... When we activate our consciousness we 'stop t...

Kitchen Religion - (4479)

Master Samael spoke about how vegetarians make a religion out of the kitchen. I thought I would expand a bit about this in this post. That of making a religion out of the kitchen has a certain psychology to it... as everything does. We often think that Master Samael meant that vegetarians devote so much time and effort into preparing their food that their devotion to food is almost at a religious devotional level. But it is not really that it is how people can begin to give in their mind the food that they eat the some hugely special power, almost the power of God. It does have power for sure but not that much. Thinking that their juices and special meals will heal them and extend their life far beyond. Which is really a subtle kind of materialism and skepticism - because food is material and one forgets that the supreme power of life and death is in the Divinity. The kitchen religion psychology feels really sorry and sad for the average person who does not know what is in his or her f...

There's Always One Stumbling Stone - (4507)

For any kind of work that we do there is always one major stumbling stone that we trip ourselves up on all the time. It is the very thing that stops you from practicing and applying the principles and teachings of the work. It could be talking and talking too much about the issues and problems. Just tell ourselves to be quiet and go to practice anything or something that will put ourselves into a better state of consciousness... When we be seriously practical about solving a problem or issue, we find that practicing and working on ourselves related to the issue is better than any conversation about it. Doesn't mean that we don't talk about it, but we practice or meditate first before talking. End (4507).

Meditate on Life's Lessons - (4506)

Working on our life brings to light so many lessons. We see the lessons but forget them and don't apply them and then end up back where we were before in the same mud. A good way around that is to meditate deeply on those lessons, making them consciousness, which then blends into our essence and way of Being. Of course it takes time but the key is to meditate understanding the value of the lesson and how we can live the lesson. That is important, finding the way that we are happy to live out the lesson, so that above all we can live out the lesson. End (4506).

Outsmart Karma - (4504)

Separate from the karma for a second and fight it with the values. This is to outsmart karma and this is also to apply justice.  Justice m.m.m teaches, is not the exchange of pain - but the bringing of a value to compensate the debt. The bringing of the value does not cause more pain and does not perpetuate the pain cycle. Karma keeps the pain cycle going until the karma is mechanically paid. Sometimes it is not paid because more and more gets added on top with each exchange until things just crumble. So we have to voluntarily make it to stop. When we bring the value we make it to stop. Karma in some cases is a powerful force of disharmony. An idea causes so much reaction that dispute, argument carries on in different houses for days afterwards. The way to outsmart it is to not go with the disputes, fights and arguments but bring the values and fight hard by bringing the values very intensely within oneself. This is the peaceful or inner warrior way to fight. If it be patience - br...

Path Shoes of Others - (4503)

If we are to put ourselves in the shoes of others whom we know have walked or are walking the path, we feel that we could not have gone through what they went through, and maybe they would not like to have gone through what we have gone through or we are going through... The conclusion here is that the path of everyone is made in such a way that it gives the Real Being of everyone the right circumstances to work and develop in, so to acquire what the Real Being is looking for. I imagine if the Real Being wants certain rare qualities that are normally acquired with some difficulty, then the essence will have to pass through those type of difficult circumstances needed to acquire those qualities. Our Real Being and the Divine Law give us also the strength that we need to pass through the circumstances that we must pass through. The circumstances of each one's path belongs to the karma and mystery of the path of everyone. The answer to why these circumstances and not others is in the ...

Path of the Razor's Edge - (4501)

There are many spiritual paths. Some are fairly wide and some less wide and some narrow but there is one that as far as I know is the path of the razor's edge. It is really the rigour of the ethical component that make a path the razor's edge. A razor's edge implies that there is very little room to move left or right. Meaning that whatever one does, one must be correct. Getting it wrong means to slip or fall off. We can always get back on and we must do that. Of course though the razor's edge gets sharper the further one advances on the path of the razor's edge. The sharpness of the razor is not as sharp at the beginning as it is towards the end. The razor is many different factors, at one point it could be time, at pine pint, it could be sacrifice, at one point it could be ethics and so on... I have always asked why a razor's edge. The answer is in the serious reality of the aim of that path. If a path is to take a person to integration with the soul, with the...

Lessons of Boundaries - (4500)

There are basically two lessons that I think everyone learns from boundaries. One is that we learn to create some boundaries and to do that we have to learn to say 'no', 'stop', 'I need to rest', 'I need to get back to work' etc. while setting boundaries. These boundaries are to allow ourselves to do the things that we need to do and if we don't do them things in our life run out of control. Then there is the lesson where we need to learn how to surpass our 'natural' boundaries which are often put in place by our selfishness, pride, laziness etc. We need both lessons to be complete. Some people are very good at the 'no' boundaries and others are really good at surpassing the boundaries of their comfort zones to help others for example. Some people are good at both but this is quite rare. Though we have to become that rare species - which is what Jesus, Master Samael and so many others showed us in many ways that they had incarnated bo...

Sexuality As Value - (4499)

Sexuality is certainly not just the sexual act. It is the quality of interaction throughout both day and night between both man and woman, others and also humanity. The sexual act is the result of sexuality, in other words it is consummation of sexuality. In general, depending on the quality of sexuality throughout the day is whether the sexual act can take place. In some couples, the Alchemy is difficult because the sexual act that takes place in Alchemy can not happen because the value of sexuality is to poor to allow the sexual connection to be made. Arguing, disputes, protests, laziness, negligence etc. etc. are not factors which enhance the value of  sexuality, as we can all understand. The value of sexuality contains so many values, and all of these values are put together under the umbrella of sexuality. Honesty, co-operation, respect, balance in general, balance between masculine and feminine, love, respect for the orbits in which the masculine and feminine characteristics ...

Tough at First Applying the Values Pays our Karma - (4498)

When one day we really decide to apply a value in our life, we will come up against our karma. Not all the time but most of the time to some degree we do. We will be applying it and it will seem as if we are getting nowhere or even worse. But this is right as we have karma for not having applied the value and now when we are applying it we get the hard end of the stick because we are starting to pay. When we had karma but did not apply the virtue we were not paying karma we were accumulating karma and the way the law works is that up to a certain limit the Law allows us to accrue karma and so we feel unaffected totally dominant but when it comes time to pay the table turn and we are weak, disempowered and hamulated etc. So we have to persist and persist and pay and pay then when that karma is paid the fruits of the value will be seen straight away. A proud person one day decides to apply humility. He or she will be humiliated a lot until one day the karma of being so proud and arrogant...

Notes on Unity - (4485)

Unity is a power that we all have at our disposal... We can use it to great advantage. Unity is a conscious result or a conscious fabrication. It is dynamic, adaptable and flexible. It is a living conscious entity - as every living creature is a unity. Your and my body and the cat's body is a unity. We consciously make unity happen. It is a conscious power and the self-realisation is all about unity.  We are our utmost powerful when we are united. Take one pencil and we can easily snap it. Put ten pencils together and you won't be able to snap it. "United we stand - divided we fall". Concentration is basically about unifying our mind - that is our mental powers and our attention and that is powerful, we when we do that can see the solutions. Identification is a type of unity. We become the same as the ego (i.e. our free essence unites with the ego). The ego also unifies all the centres of our human machine. The consciousness also works in us by unifying through balanc...

Apparently the Law of Confrontation - (4497)

Confrontation is a part of the Law of Three. Confrontation brings the active and passive forces together. Confrontation then without any agressive connotations is a cosmic order. Confrontation is the bringing together of two opposite forces. It is actually the first step of reconcillation. We develop two strange attitudes to this apparent Law. One is agression and violence and the other is avoidance. Both attitudes are wrong and both lead to unbalance and suffering.  The real confrontation of the type that the cosmos does constantly and which the cosmos intended to be done in creation is the one which creates something new. Any positive creation takes the consciousness to create it. Confrontation creates. It provides the spark for creation. Especially the spark for consciousness. We don't relate well to confrontation. If we understand it is something of Law and of has authentic reality to it in the cosmos, we come to peace with it and understand that we need to get good at it. The ...

Three Minds in Relationships - (4491)

This post presents some notes on the how the three minds that Master Samael teaches every human being, work within human relationships.  Just to reacquaint any readers: Three minds: sensorial mind, intermediate mind and inner mind. The sensorial mind is concerned with data from the five physical senses. The intermediate mind works with belief and concepts and the inner mind works with the consciousness and essence. There are also three types of love which corresponds to the three minds. They are sensorial love, emotional love and conscious love. The egos or "I's" that we have all use the sensorial and intermediate minds. They hang out there and they do not use the inner mind. Only our consciousness uses the inner mind. Sensorial Mind So we may relate to another person, like or even 'love' another person because of the senses. Because they are healthy and good looking, have a stable and well paid job that affords a continuous supply of nice healthy food, a nice roo...

Practice First Talk Later - (4496)

Just like at work at the office or construction site - work first and eat later. We have to be the same practice first and talk later. That's the order! Best results with the right order! Just staying loyal to this one simple thing in my life in the past has changed so many things for the better.  We forget our past's lessons. But because they were learned with the consciousness they come out sooner or later and when they do it's really silly not to grab onto them as a kind of life line that can save you. End (4496).

Concentrate on Ourselves - (4494)

It's a waste of time getting others to change. We have to close that off inside of ourselves and focus on ourselves. Remember the teachings and apply them on ourselves using our own consciousness. See and know by conscious faith or just faith that the work we do on our ownselves will change our situation. It will take its time but it will work. There is always our part in the situation. As soon as we begin doing that by giving something - that is by giving our work of dissolving resistance, concepts, blocks, fears, resentment, dislikes etc. and asking ofr internal help, we are starting to be able to cope with the situaton and the situation for us is already changing. We just need to really get down to it and put time aside whenever that may be - midnight for all purposes and then do our work - make our efforts to dissolve the blocks that don't accept the situation and that don't want to change etc. End (4494).

Clash of Psychology in the Centres - (4493)

Each of our centres has a psychology. We have an emotional, intellectual, motor, instinctive and sexual psychology. Each centre is a mind remember - seven centres and seven minds. Often the differences in the psychology of the centres is what causes many clashes between people in relationships. Our psychology uses the centres differently to others, even within the same activity. Two people because of the differences in the psychology of the centres while participating in the same activity together can clash. It is pretty interesting to reflect upon this point and discover bits of the psychology of our own centres.    For example, in two people engaged in the sexual act, the differences in the psychology of the sexual centre can be seen. These differences may detract totally or somehow compliment. The wide spectrum of deviations of sexuality is due mostly in general to the branching out of the psychology of the sexual centre mixed with the different "I's" of sexuality and ...

Stop the Talking - (4492)

To stop talking about an issue and go to practice, whether it be quietening the mind, chanting a mantra, praying, self-remembering etc., is to enter another world so different to arguing. Upon entering that other world - which is really a vastly different state of consciousness, answers, inspiration and clarity comes to us... We can spend hours talking and repeating the same points over and over and nothing new, decisive and clear appears... It happens that after some minutes of practice the new and clear appears. A vast difference...  We often talk, argue and fight in the hope that something new, clear and correct will appear. Once in a blue moon something like that does appear but just too often the end result is the opposite of what we hope for. The correct decision or solution can't really appear if we are using incorrect methods and the incorrect tools... The correct method and tools is our consciousness, not our mind or our personality or egos. It is better to be governed by ...

Yes Yes Yes Says our Intimate - (4495)

When we are meditating on our own Spirit Being or Intimate we go into the world of where the answer is yes yes yes.  We may not get an answer in our meditation but it WILL come! The answer is yes yes yes. What is meant by that is is the spirit of the intimate is yes yes yes. He will answer, He will give with you and through you. End (4495).

Respect Conscious Choice Notes - (4470)

The main puzzle to do with respect is when to use it and when not to. People tend to cultivate respect by respecting mechanically. If we respect mechanically we will get things right a good percentage of the time, but the times when we do get it wrong they will be very costly. The general rule of thumb to know when to respect and when not to. Is when respecting or not respecting aligns with a higher value or higher result. For example we out of respect never shout at anyone, but say if they are going to run into a brick wall we would shout stop! Them not hurting themselves by running into the brick wall is the higher value! One good point about respect is that when we respect someone we reserve space within us to listen to them when we are in trouble and need their help or any help - the most. Often that last reserve of respect in our psyche is all that we have between us and a steep downward spiral to disaster. Of course when that reserve of respect is lost or overridden, we are not g...

Impressionable - (4471)

There are people in the world that are, what is called "impressionable". Then there are people in the world that are not impressed by anything - i.e. not impressionable. What makes a person impressionable or not impressionable is something I don't fully know and is beyond what I would like to cover in this post. Anyway, what this post is really about, is working on the impressionable state.  It is only really when we know that we are impressionable, and by being so impressionable, we bring certain difficulties into our life, that we may consider working on our impressionable states. What becomes inconvenient about being impressionable is that we lose ourselves. We change our points of view based on the opinions of the strongest person we last talked to and when we look inside of ourselves we are empty, we don't understand anything we are just imitating. To stop being impressionable does not mean to stop imitating one person and imitate someone else it means to look in...
