Don’t be Afraid of Pain - (554)

Introduction

A major part of our lives is all about avoiding pain. Pain in so many ways rules our lives. My missionary told us that one very important step in awakening is to liberate ourselves from pain.

As long as the ego is alive there will always be some kind of pain that we will experience. It seems like we can’t avoid it. Well experience is showing me that we can’t until avoid it until the ego is all dead.

So we have to either get use to it or learn somehow to not be phased by it. To experience it with awareness observing it but having the attitude that and firm knowledge that it will pass through us and go, pain is always leaving us actually. Because its job is to take us to healing what is wrong.

Liberate It

There are two steps to doing this. The full way is to penetrate deep into the pain and dissolve it from the inside. This takes time and lots of comprehension. This though is the full final solution and it also requires the payment of many Karmic debts.

The first step, is to be open to pain, to not fear it, to understand deeply that it there to heal us, to indicate to us what is wrong and for us to fix it. It is actually a friend. If we start to not fear it we are getting free of it, we are allowing it to function in us and to fulfil its function within us. The main thing is to no longer avoid and fear it. Then we are starting to get free of it and it is going to stop ruling our lives. This though is emotional pain not the physical pain.

People who Self-Harm

All of the people who harm themselves have all come from very troubled pasts. They are all in pain. No one of them is totally happy and free of pain, they are deeply in it. They are compensating for not being able to control or deal with their pain. So they harm themselves inflict upon themselves pain in a way that they can control and mange. They only do it physically because they know the body will make it pass but they never go into difficult emotional situations to feel pain, they know that that is what they really fear and that is where their pain comes from.

Conclusion

When we know how to go to the Being to solve the pain, and ourselves together with the Being (in us) solves our pain we are free of that particular pain.

The essence and the Being are the balm to our pains. But before that we need to be able to open to the pain to allow it to move though us and to teach us what is wrong with our inner psychological functioning. Then we must act to correct it and then change and then the pain serves its purpose to take us to healing.

Please note, in this post I am referring to emotional psychological pain, not the physical pain. If we feel physical pain we should act to heal it straight away.

End (554).

Attention with Mind, Attention with Essence - (5197)

These two attentions are different. Attention with the mind tires the brain. and reduces the flow of life into steps, where it is inevitable that the narration of the mind begins to take over. With the awareness of steps comes a certain tediousness and the feeling of the flow of life leaving us behind. With the attention of mind very little of what's behind events comes to us... Attention with the essence brings the power of presence, in other words brings a certain depth and continuity of flow  Attention with the essence doesn't tire or strain and opens doorways into perceiving what is behind events and the thoughts and feelings that appear within us. It allows us also to flow with the flow of life, which is a pleasant feeling. Conclusion, make the essence bring attention to outer and inner life. End (5197).

The Sacred Substance Askokin - (962)

Introduction In simple terms, the sacred Askokin substance is the result of the mercury and the sulphur. It is the transmuted energy that crystallises to form the internal bodies (astral, mental and causal). In other words, it is the transmutation of our sexual energies. The Abrustdonis’ and ‘Helkdonis that Gurdjieff mentions in the excerpt below, taken from “Belzeebub’s Tales to His Grandson” are none other than the elements of mercury and the sulphur so spoken about in Alchemy. Excerpt on the Sacred Substance Askokin “I first learned that the destiny of beings arising on this planet of yours is chiefly to elaborate—by means of the process of their existence—the vibrations required by Nature for the maintenance of those former parts of the planet now called Moon and Anulios, when, do you remember, I became worthy personally to converse for the second time with His Conformity the then still Angel, but now Archan...

Wisdom from the Movie “Kingdom of Heaven” - (2168)

Introduction There are some movies that leave you with some pieces of advice that at point or another in your life or in the lives of others prove useful. This movie: “Kingdom of Heaven” was terrible to watch (too many battle scenes and people dying) but offered some very useful messages. In this post, I have presented a few, that have come in handy at point or another. Just to give you a bit of context, the movie is about the crusades, where the French and English were trying to defend the “Holy City” – Jerusalem from Islamic occupation. The topic of religion and God is a constant theme in the movie. It is very violent though, matching it frankly, quite awful to watch. Your Soul is in Your Keeping Alone An interesting dialogue between the French appointed king of Jerusalem and French Knight, the protagonist of the movie. Note, the king wears that metal mask because he has leprosy. King Baldwin I...
