Less Self-Obsession - (5121)

We think we are not self-obsessed but we all are. We all while we are asleep have a degree of it.

We can see it easily in others but not in ourselves.

The less self-obsessed we are the closer we are to awakening.

When we are self-obsessed we take ourselves very seriously and when we are criticised we react angrily and feel very upset.

The less self-obsessed we are the less we react and the more we can appreciate the the truth or part truth of the criticism.

The key of self-obsession is the belief that we are something that we are not and the deep fascination with the 'something that we are not'. Self-obsession is made of two errors, first the false belief and second the fascination with the what we falsely believe in.

For example to believe we are honest and awake and then to be fascinated with honest and awake instead of being honest and awake - the essence - the consciousness.

Less Self-Consideration - (5120)

When we consider ourselves we become weak... Too weak to do our work...

To progress in awakening we realise that we have to consider ourselves less.

However, we have to know how to consider ourselves less.

It does not mean to forget our Inner Being, or forget that we are an essence and that we have work to do. No!

It does not mean to forget to eat or sleep or shower. No!

It means to forget about our desires, our vested interests, what others think and feel towards us, our personality, our sufferings, how we have been wronged, how we have not been understood, or not taken care of, our hardships, complaints and protests.... Basically to not feed all of our psychological grievances.

Considering ourselves in that way always turns into negativity which stops our progress.

We can never transforms ourselves when we are stuck in negativity!

It means to consider ourselves less so that we can help other more and consider the Inner Being in us much more and give more to it with our work.

Don't Abuse the Teachings - (5119)

We abuse the powerful knowledge Gnosis has given us when we feel superior for having it, and when we don't help ourselves and others with it. 

To help ourselves means to become better human beings, ones that don't make themselves and others suffer.

Each Virtues Does Something - Truth Liberates - (5118)

Introduction

This post is a series of notes for a presentation on the working practically with virtues.

Notes

Each virtue does something and gives us something. Each virtue has a cause and effect. Love gives warmth and joy, wisdom - illumination, faith - strength and truth - freedom.

According to what we yearn for (effect) we choose the virtue (cause) to produce it.

If we need to heal ourselves or others or a particular situation, the effect is healing or repair and the cause of that is the right virtue.

Conclusion to this point is that each virtue or value is causative or causal in nature.

The word and the sexual energy are also causative or causal. Telling us, that to enhance the causal power of any virtue, our use of the word and our sexual energy must align with the virtue and not go against it.

Each virtue uses the word. The use of the word that affirms the virtue is the use that we need. Each virtue requires creative energy to act. Consciously moving and investing our sexual energy into the virtue empowers it with creative energy.

Which is the most important virtue to develop?

They are all linked! We all need to develop different virtues at different times. The one we need now is the most important. However we can not go wrong with developing consciousness or love or humility.

The true development of any virtue leads to a degree of development of the others.

We know what we need to develop knowing our lacks.

Developing a virtue is a matter of introducing it's ways into the centres of our human machine. 

The way of each virtue comes from a state of consciousness. Each virtue represents a way of thinking and feeling of the consciousness that flows according to the principles and laws of the virtue. You may call it a particular mind-set with its truths. 

The virtues have some common laws and principles. Passive mind, passive personality and giving of itself.

We can start by developing a virtue right now. Even if the circumstances to exercise and develop it are not present right now. Because the development of the virtue starts in the intellect and the emotion.

We must study the ways of the virtue until a sense of it begins to form in our intellectual centre and in our the emotional part of our intellectual centre. 

The best way to study the virtue is in action. The way to do that is to find someone who has that virtue and keenly observe them in action, ask them questions and learn from them. If we can't find someone, then study someone who has the opposite of hte virtue and study them by doing the opposite. We can study using both hands: right and left, light and dark.

This is really how a group working on themselves can help each other, The virtues are distributed amongst all people so as to serve as examples for everyone to learn from.

From emotional part of the intellect it can enter the emotional centre. From within the emotional centre we must spend the most time developing the emotion of the virtue, which is the embracing and accepting of the virtue, in other words the powering up of the virtue. 

The emotional centre is close to action. 

We need to always give octaves of the virtue.

The right virtue is a magic solution. If the virtue we are choosing is not doing magic we have simply chosen the wrong one.

The final goal is to put the virtue into the instinctive centre, where it becomes our nature.

Have to know the following:

1.) What the virtue gives.

2.) What the virtue repairs or heals.

3.) How the virtue thinks

4.) How the virtue feels

5.) What the virtue does.

6.) How the virtue responds.

7.) What is the scope of the virtue. Where it starts and ends.

8.) What is the exaggeration of the virtue.

9.) What egos one must die in to allow the virtue.

10.) Know the environment and the opportunity to exercise the virtue.

Some virtues are so critical to hold a given situation together. The absence of these virtues causes things to crumble. Master Samael said that if he were to lose one drop of sexual energy the Gnostic Movement would fall apart.

The Step by Step Flow is: 

1.) Know the virtue that you are going to develop by assessing the lack.

2.) Know the virtue. Study: read and observe.  

3.) Embrace it in the intellectual centre. 

4.) Look for the feeling of it in the intellect. It has now passed to the emotional part of the intellect.

5.) Start to them work with emotionally. Embrace it, accept it emotionally. Feel the virtue.

6.) Exercise the virtue in intellect and emotion.

7.) Begin the great learning of the art of the virtue through action, the result of  intellect and emotion.

8.) Actively seek the environment and opportunities to develop the virtue.

The development of each virtue turns into an art. 

The virtues change our destiny, enhance our mystical death and free us from stagnation.

The Three Faces of God - (5117)

From a conversation with a fellow Gnostic brother I leant about this teaching which comes from another spiritual teacher and writer: Ken Wilber

The teaching says that God for the human being has three faces: 

1.) God in me.

2.) God in you.

3.) God everywhere.

How true is that. God is in those three areas. Our relationship to God is really threefold. It is about being able to see God in those three areas to have a complete relationship to God.

It is quite profound. It is really saying that if we can't see God in any of those three areas we are not relating well to God. 

We may be able to see God in nature, in the stars, in the heavens but not in ourselves and in others then something is unbalanced and this will certainly have profound ramifications in our psychology, in our ways of thinking and in our attitudes and concepts.

The same if we can only see God in ourselves and in no one else or in no other part of creation. We would become terribly proud - a mythomaniac I dare say. Which is really unhealthy.

Self-Realization is not a Hand-Holding Process - (5116)

Gnosis is really different to so many other ways or schools. There is no hand-holding. We are tasked to be strong, face our reality, take responsibility for it and gather the strength and wisdom to change it. 

The help is in being given the teachings and the keys to do it and the rest is up to us to fight along side and with the help of others to understand the teachings clearly and work out how best to apply them.

The paradox is, that when we are in the struggle and fight of applying the work is when the most help comes.

When we are waiting or wanting that our hand be held, is precisely when no help comes, even enmity can come as a message to tell us that that is the wrong attitude.

Tunnel of Light and the Pineal Gland - (5115)

The tunnel with a light at the end that many see during near death experiences could well be the passageway to the pineal gland, from where the essence leaves the physical body from.

The pineal gland is said to be the set of the soul. That is the main entrance for the essence into the body.

The physical body is like a castle with many entrances and windows. Many say that the senses are the windows of the soul and it is also said that the pineal gland and the muladhara chakra are the entrances.

Father as Wisdom, Mother as Love and Son as Force - (5114)

As Master Samael says the Father embodies wisdom and the Mother Love and the HUman Soul will.

The Father just as wisdom seems to be so indifferent and aloof, yet his is how wisdom makes Him. While the Mother is so close and overbearing, yet this how love makes her. 

What is best is father-mother, wisdom and love working together complementing each other. The result is the son - true force or another word for it is conscious will.

True force is loving and wise force. Force that is motivated by love and directed by wisdom. Love gives force the why and wisdom gives force the how. Both love and wisdom combine to know when. 

Both Father and mother have force and their force is in the son and the son being conscious will goes to rescue or help the essence out of its various predicaments in life. The best of both is in the son. That is why the human soul is so adored.

One of the roles of force in creation is to rescue and lift out of predicament, especially in difficult situation. That is why Master Samael as Avatar had to come at the end of cycle, in humanity's darkest hours.

“Greek λόγος, from λέγω lego "I say," means Verb or Word. The unifying principle. The Logos is the manifested deity of every nation and people; the outward expression or the effect of the cause which is ever concealed. (Speech is the "logos" of thought). The Logos has three aspects, known universally as the Trinity, Trikaya, or Trimurti. These are related to the three primary forces behind all forms of creation. Note the three logoi here:

The First Logos is the Father, Brahma, Kether.

One who incarnates the Logos becomes a Logos. In Buddhism, the Logos is the Trikaya: Dharmakaya, Sambogakaya, Nirmanakaya.

In the beginning sound was first, before light. Sound or the word starts creation and light emerges in the process of creation.

The Logos sounds, and if there is sound there is vibration and if there is vibration there is movement and if there is movement there is life.

The Law of Vibration

Sound is everywhere in the cosmos, which is often referred to as Universal Sound. According to the Law of Vibration, as there is sound everywhere everything must then be vibrating at some degree or another. If there is vibration there must be movement and if there is movement there must be energy. 

As everything vibrates, all these vibrations form a great ensemble which then produces a great overarching sounds. The Earth has its sound, each planet has its sound and each solar system has its sound and each galaxy has its particular sound. 

In the great scheme of the cosmos we find the sounds and rhythms of creation, of which the latter come from the law of activity and response. Combining the sounds and rhythms of creation a cosmic symphony is produced. The whole of the cosmos is then sustained by and marches according to this symphony.

Everything in the universe is a vibration, a sound. Every activity has it’s particular sound.

The Law of Octaves

The Law of Octaves governs sound, in a very similar way to musical notes. 

“The word octave comes from Medieval Latin octava, from Latin, feminine of octavus eighth, from octo "eight," and refers to the difference in sound between the first and eighth notes on a musical scale, thus indicating that the eighth note repeats the first, but higher or lower. To symbolize this, humanity has long used a scale to represent the steps between the first and eighth notes:

DO-RE-MI-FA-SOL-LA-SI-DO”

Keynote

The parts of every human body vibrate and therefore produce sound. The sum of all these sounds produce a single sound called the keynote. 

We get in touch with this sound when we remember ourselves and it is the sound of our Inner Being. If someone were to play that sound and amplify it we would die.

By the Law of Resonance playing at the same sound as the keynote of an object or causes the keynote of the object to vibrate more intensely. 

Our very own brain emits a certain sound that we can hear in mediation and helps us with entering higher states of consciousness. Concentrating on this sound in our brain can help us unfold into the astral. This sound often resembles the sound of wind, flute playing or crickets.

The Earth itself emits a certain sound called in esotericism the NIRIOONOSIAN sound.

Mantra

The word itself teaches us this: mantra is Sanskrit made up of two Sanskrit words: 'manas' and 'trai'. Manas means mind or thought or reflection and trai means protect or be free from. Putting these two meanings together we see that the word 'mantra' means to be free from the mind.

So with a mantra we can free our mind to experience our consciousness and our consciousness can then in turn experience the sound hidden in the mantra, which is a vibration, an energy of a cosmic order.

The traditions say that if you know the name of something you can gain mastery over it. This would be the inner name. Knowing its vibration, its sound we can identify with it and therefore with our consciousness being aware of the identification we can know its inner qualities.

The objective of mantra is to connect the mind to the cosmic mind, where our mind can then dip into the primordial sounds of the cosmos. Mantras are to cause our consciousness to lift away from our mind and to experience the vibration of a certain thing.  

Language

In the Golden Age of the Earth the Golden Language (sacred universal language) was spoken. It consisted of 52 vowels and was vastly richer and it was the era when the Divine Being through the human could command nature with this language. 

As a remnant of this language, Hebrew and Sanskrit are sacred mantric languages. Where the words have mantric power are linked to the primordial cosmic sounds.

Word Intimately Linked to Cause and Effect

The word is causal. The word is intimately linked to the scales of justice (balance), meaning it is intimately linked to the Law of Cause and Effect. 

The word creates and in doing so, sets in place a chain of consequences. We have a karmic responsibility for each word that we speak.

When a person teaches esotericism their words are weighed on the scale and the results processed by the Law of Katancy. 

Prayer

Prayer is powerful. Prayer is made by the word and much of its power comes from the power of the word. We need to know how to pray properly. Which consists in placing behind our words the appropriate power.

Because we do not align the three brains when we pray we often find the opposite or something else results. Nature always answers the stronger force behind our words.

The word is instrumental in creating any atmosphere among human beings.

The word creates in geometry in space. When a tape recorder records onto a magnetic tape geometric forms are left on the tape. When the sound of the OM travels through a board of sand after a time a beautiful geometrical figure forms. 

Colour is a vibration, which is a sound. There is an intimate link between sound and colour. Our keynote produces a sound which in turn produces the colour of our aura.

Kundalini it has been said in Gnosis is condensed sound, That is the condensed sound of our the Akash within our microcosmos.

Environment to Wake Up: Turn Your Attention Within and Know Yourself - (5112)

What would hard-core training to awaken look like?

Well it wouldn't look like anything that we are imagining or thinking it to be.

We would not find it pleasant.

To awaken is to more often than not scrape and breakaway the false that we are dearly holding onto.

Starting by putting our attention on the very small details of ourselves in all environments and and during all tasks is the start.

It builds he necessary power of attention and discovery to work with the more subtle which are the thoughts and emotions.

A tricky or dangerous physical environment would require us to become very alert so as to not get hurt. 

To awaken we are put into psychological environments that are very tricky, complicated, spiky and sensitive This is to help us to awaken. As soon as we fall asleep, whack! TIme to wake up and be alert!

Does the Inner Being Punish Us? - (5111)

I wonder does our Inner Being punish us if we are doing something wrong? Something that is not humanly or morally wrong but something that perhaps is not in agreement with the principles or will of the Being?

There is a teaching from m.m.m that says that the Inner Being does not punish or chastise but educates instead.

Perhaps this education seems like a punishment. Perhaps difficulties are the only way the Inner Being has to get through to us... 

Sometimes you just wonder, it is karma, is it the egos or is it the secret resistance of nature that provokes all one difficulty or lesson after the other...

Well one has to ask and ask and wake up to what in truth it is.

Each day is a precious opportunity to do something for our Inner Being.

If we make a point of doing something in our day we will do it.

If we make a point of awakening to something and dying to something in our day we will also do it.

Make it a point for each day and we will create a line of work and that line will create a destiny.

No Person and No Area Should Hide from the Work - (5108)

The work on ourselves really should extend everywhere within us and within our life.

There should not be a person or areas that we for some reason don't bring the work into.

We can really make this mistake. However when we realise it and bring and apply the work, things are much better for it.

What really makes a 'work' a 'work' is a constant line of work.

To produce in our lives a constant line of work no matter what it is for, is a grand achievement. So common is the case that us human beings are so inconsistent and sporadic and consequently get nowhere.

It is really the means by which we develop in any way. 

If we set up for ourselves as the most important thing a line of work, working on ourselves everyday in the same way. That is doing the same practice but on different subjects. For example meditations on the death of the ego but on different "I's".

With that line of working we can know and say that we are really working and going to get somewhere.

Don't Love your Concepts and your Way Too Much - (4549)

Love Affair with Our Concepts = Upset

There is really so much self-love to do with our concepts and ways of thinking and feeling about things. There is also so much self-love about our ways of doing things.

What keeps us attached to our own concepts about things is a kind of a love affair with them and ourselves.

We must love our Being and ourselves as an essence of a  Divine Monad but to love our concepts that are not Divine in nature and could well be erroneous or are just as good as the concepts of others, does not make much sense.

Yet we are truly in love with our concepts...

The proof is that we get upset and angry and fight over our concepts when they are challenged, and furthermore we feel that things should all go in accordance with our concepts so that our concepts are 'pleased'.

Wrong concept little buddy - big green is not always equal to big orange.

Conclusion

The conclusion is to work to detach ourselves from our very own concepts. This is freedom and so useful in practical life. It also does not mean we are any less or that we are going to disappear or become weak and ineffective.

The essence does not have concepts. It does not depend on concepts and it is shines more powerfully even without concepts. Each concept is a bottle or jail for the essence.

Ray of Force Notes - (4994)

Introduction

This post is a collection of notes about the ray of force. 

My hope is that while reading it, a certain atmosphere will be formed allowing you in your particular way to make a connection to the ray of force. Then through that connection you may be able to find something you are looking for...

Having said that the best connection to the ray of Force is truly the teachings of Master Samael. His ray - the ray of Force is alive in all his books and lectures.

Cosmic Sense

One of the eternal properties of God, is God being almighty! God can not be God, if God is not almighty, right? 

Just like God can not be God, if God is not all knowing. All-knowing, all-seeing, almighty, all-present, all-being are the properties that only God (the Absolute) can have.  

Classically, all-knowing, all-seeing, all-being, all-present and almighty are attributed to God and no one or anything else.

Might or strength coming directly from the almighty property of God is one of the primordial divine properties of God (Absolute).

The ray of Force is the might or strength of God in action in creation.

In no way can God we be weak. Why? Because if God was weak, another force may be able to overcome God and perhaps install itself as the creating and governing principle...  

From the above statement we can see that force, one of the key eternal properties of God is related to combat (interaction of forces), protection, order and governing (power).

We will see later in this post how the ray of force works closely with the rays of law, order, love, wisdom, medicine, life and death.

Everything in the universe that has life is a force. If something has energy it has force. Though the ray of force is more than that (energy), it is also the consciousness of force.

As we can imagine, the force of God is so needed in creation to maintain the order that the intelligent principles of the universe have set in motion.

So that the intelligent principles and creating Gods may lead and preside over creation, the ray of force is needed.

In keeping order and rebelling against the order force is needed.

What can produce chaos in creation is force. What can produce and maintain order in creation is force.

Only force can rebel and overcome reason, where that reason is order and balance. To break and either restore balance force is needed.

Here we can see the duality of force. The Divine Law uses force to restore balance and to administer the many backlashes that come about because of the misuse of having broken balance.

One can easily appreciate how the ray of force was instrumental in the rebellion of the angels.

The force of the Absolute is needed unfold creation. The ray of Force is related to the ray of Life.

The ray of force in our Solar System is administered and governed by Mars and its regent is Logos Samael. Our guru!

It is interesting to note how it was the Logos of Mars Samael's turn to govern over the fifth root race,  which is the race that is furthest away from Divinity experiencing the iron age. 

Iron is the the metal of industry, construction, weaponry - in short labour and war.

The ray of force is the only one that can do something on a large scale in these times of the closing of a cycle...

The ray of forces protects.

The Absolute knew that in the chaos or creation various human beings would need to be protected.

The ray of Force holds the mysteries of the strength of God. Some of the mysteries of force are unity, will, life force energy and justice.  

Esoteric Sense

Force is needed to create and start a certain enterprise. It is also needed to lift a given enterprise that is withering.

Force is used to build or destroy. To raise up or bring down. 

Force becomes most visible in duality where often a clash of forces is witnessed. The ray of force is needed to help various energies prevail over others.

One of the roles of force is to provide the strength to overcome difficulties. 

Force is used to uphold the laws. The ray of Force is related tot eh ray of the Law.

Force is needed to break and surpass the inferior to come under superior laws.

The ray of force favours the just.

The way of the warrior, the way to God through the conscious path of force.

Force finds it most potent combination with wisdom. Then it can serve justice.

Force combines so well with wisdom and love.

The ray of force is the ray that sacrifices itself a lot. It enters into the fray of conflict sacrificing itself for the restoration of balance.

Force is always behind revolution. If it was not for the force Master Samael put into the doctrine we would not be able to enact a revolution within ourselves.

If a malevolent force triumphs it is because the Divine Law supported it.

Love converts into force. Love then converts into wisdom to further its reach.

Love and wisdom are must to be developed for those of the ray of force. Many egos relating to love and wisdom will appear to be dissolved for those of this ray.

Planet Mars

We see Master's Samael's mission being from the ray of force his gospel had to be the Alchemy. To bring this message to the world, force was needed to push through all the resistance. The Alchemy itself is to work with the primordial forces of creation within the human being and the cosmos.

Mars is said to behind any country or party that enters into war. For as long as the country or party remains just.

We see when in life in the age from 35 to 42 we come under the planet Mars. We are given the force to truly fight to establish ourselves in our chosen vocation or position in life.

Force maintains, transcends, builds, destroys, defends, attacks and supports.

Ontological Sense

Each Monad has a tremendous force. Which is in its will.

The ray of force is the one that stands heroic. No other ray seems to hold the place of heroes.

There is no triumph without force. The ray of force is in charge of delivering triumph. When love and wisdom are behind force, it justly brings victory.

The gift of the ray of force is victory.

Love invokes force, wisdom guides it, justice gives it the right measure and scope and love motivates it.

The spirit is strong and the flesh weak. The stronger force or strength is with the spirit. The Being in us needs force to function in matter. 

The strength of God is the ray of force. To love God and approach God with strength is the motto of the ray of Force.

Those of the ray of force see God as the strength that holds everything and the strength that holds us in God, with God and to God. OM SEA FUERZA!

All powerful is - all mighty is God.

Human Sense

God give me strength is what some mothers would say when their children did something wrong.

If you feel strong and have force - direct it inwardly to know yourself deeper than you have ever before. Such inwards efforts make the force we are gifted with useful.

All force comes from the Being and should return to It. That is our true role with force. 

We need force to concentrate and to call the virtue.

Everything is round, all energies and forces descend only to traverse an arc returning to its origin. As the origin is the Being that is where it must return.

The force that keeps us standing is a phenomenal force, which Master Samael tells us descends from Mars. Truly without that force we would be jelly. I feel that we may not even be able to walk. We really do not know the power and significance of that force.

We see how the liver is related to Mars as it is the organ in us that fights tirelessly to break down compounds that the body can not otherwise assimilate.

The military the armed forces etc. are expressions of this ray.

A military is an expression of a country's human and esoteric force. The military is used to defend, rescue, liberate, restore order, attend to emergency situations and occupy foreign lands (not just if it is not within the plans of the Divine Law - like how it was the plan of the Law for the Roman Empire to expand by the hand of Julius Cesar - Ray of Force)

The wrong side of force is to oppress, exploit, destroy.

Bravery comes from the ray of force and is love and force in flight.

Behind any revolution of a human government there is force.

Hidden Side of the Psychological Moon Notes - (5043)

Introduction

This post presents some of the points that we can utilise to discover and know more about the hidden side of our psychology.

Notes

The moon in esoteric psychological terms is our egoic psychology. So the hidden side are the egos and their facets of egos which we do not see.

So much of our psychological work is here within the principles of this talk. The main objective of our psychological is to transform darkness into light. The hidden side of our psychological moon is our darkness.

To work with the principles of this talk we really need to be humble. 

Humility in relation to this talk is to truly accept that there is so much about ourselves that we don't know and so much that there is to correct. 

We conquer the level of humility needed to work on the hidden side when the attitude of being happy to know what needs correcting within us, appears in us.

The following points are useful in discovering aspects of the hidden side of our psychological moon.

Discovery and Exploration Points

We project our defects onto others. What we assume that others are thinking, feeling and doing when they do not say anything and when we don't see them acting is usually a projection of our hidden side.

We basically project onto them what we do that we don't know or accept that we do it. As soon as we realise that we do it then we know that it only refers to us and not to anyone else.

We have created so many self-images which are based on what we lack or in other words what we have in the hidden side of ourselves.

When we don't like others getting angry but we are often angry and we react angrily to someone else's anger.

When don't allow others to feel sad, yet we feel sad often and give ourselves the right to feel sad but not extend it to others.

When we can't understand a certain egoical behaviour and we become like fascinated with it or scandalised y it and judge it too harshly. That is because we have the same egos in our hidden side and we have not come to observe them and understand them yet.

When we judge others. When we judge we are judging based on what we are. We are the same psychologically as those that we judge psychologically.

If we see a defect in others it is certain we have it also. It takes one to know one. We know that we have it when the others say that we have it also and we angrily refute it.

Mechanical antipathy and empathy. When we feel mechanical antipathy for someone, it is because we have the same defects. For example a controlling person will not like at first glance another controlling type of person.

When we protect the egos of others. Especially their weaknesses and we get angry when others say that we shouldn't do that.

Anger protects the hidden side of psychological moon.

We are under intense pressure the hidden side of our psychological moon starts to become observable.

Guardian of Threshold - A Test of Humility - (5105)

The Guardian of the Threshold test is really a test of humility.

To be humble is to have a clear vision of our reality. Those who are proud have a very unclear vision and of their psychological reality and true capacities.

To be ready and open to see and accept our reality is what is required to pass the guardian of the Threshold test.

It is also the basic foundation upon which any work on ourselves begins. If we do not ever have the capacity to see ourselves as we are and accept our reality as ugly as we will find it, we will never ever work on ourselves.

The Guardian of the Threshold is a part of our very own Being that reflects our true psychological reality. Only a true part of ourselves can do that for us.

Those who fail the Guardian of the Threshold test stop the work on themselves and soon find the work is something goes against them and soon they become bitter and go against the work, Gnosis and the people who go to Gnosis.

Preacher Ego - (5106)

There is an ego which I'll describe in this post, but to start with I think a good name for it is the 'preacher ego'. 

What is the preacher ego? It is a branch of pride that more than just teaches. It makes what one is teaching to more than it is, and it personalises what one is teaching.

The preacher ego annoys others with the same ego and controls those with a tendency to feel inferior.

We can easily identify with the preacher ego when teaching Gnosis. Because it is a doctrine that goes right to the cause of things and it is revolutionary and powerful and if applied will radically change a person and their life.

When we make out subtly or overtly that Gnosis is better than anything else for all people and our way of doing things and our view of God is the best we are in the preacher ego. 

Master Samael never spoke or taught in that way.

To have the preacher ego we have to have been preaching.

Many a Day Lost in the Intellect - (5104)

Why we overthink, why we feel lost, why we are confused, why time flies, why we feel we are not getting anywhere, why we feel that we are chasing ourselves into the future...

It is only because of the wrong use of our intellect - our mind, with all its many many thoughts, that we feel lost. In fact we become lost in and amongst the hundreds and hundreds of different and contradictory thoughts. 

We need to see our central light and quieten down all those thoughts find our way again.

We need to pay much more attention to our actual selves in each moment and all the above problems disappear. 

With the practice of sustained attention on ourselves in each moment we find our real selves and from there all the questions are answered and all the issues we are facing are put into perspective.

Notes on the Word - (5102)

The Word or Verb is a cosmic value. It is present in all spheres through creation and beyond creation.

It is easier to relate to the Word as a cosmic value after having studied it in the psychological and human spheres.

If we examine human life, we will see that the Word is an integral part of life. Life as we know it would quickly disassemble if the Word ceased to exist.

We see that the word is very important and very powerful in human life.

The same applies to our psychology. Without the word, we would not be able to think as we do.

Thoughts are words and images.

In many ways the language we speak and consequently think with, has a psychology which plays a significant role in forming or conditioning our own psychology. 

For example, in English there is only one word for love. In Spanish there are several words to for the different kinds of love. Meaning those who speak Spanish know because of their language about the different degrees and classes of love, which opens up different ways of expressing love.

There are basically four types of word: spoken, written, inner and silent. The spoken word is not the only expression of the word.

Silence is also classed as the word. Silence says many things. Silence itself is a valid answer and sometimes the wisest answer.

There are instances where it is wrong to speak and wrong to keep silent.

The word creates, maintains and destroys. It has the power to lift a person up from the floor as well as the power to disarm the most difficult and tensest of conflicts. It also can destroy reputations in a few instants and terribly divide people held together by ancestral bonds.

The level of being of a person is certainly expressed in their word. In what is said and in what use they give to their word.

The word is magic. It creates according to the intention we infuse into it.

Words make up the highest percentage of impressions that we take in. Theya re also the more important impressions that we give to others.

The word has a very sexual connection and in days past, the ‘word of honour’ existed, where one saw one’s word as a sacred part of one’s self and to fulfil one’s word was to honour oneself and the other person.

There was in the past a kind of integration with our word. We were only as good as our word. Now days there is a great divide. Where little attention is paid to honouring our word.

When we lie we produce a disconnection according to the degree with our Inner Being. There are several ways of lying. Lying through the different expressions of the word, speaking, writing, silence and within our psychology. 

Each ego is a lie and when we identify with an ego we are lying within ourselves to ourselves.

There are some important aspects of the word to become aware of. They are tone, volume and rhythm.

Often it is not what people say, it is how they say it that offends. Alo how quietly or loudly words are spoken can also frustrate, scare or annoy others.

We can see that each ego has a particular use of the word. Each ego introduces its particular content of interest and manipulates the volume, rhythm and tone of the word for its purposes.

If we change our word we will change our life. Because our word being creative will be set up different circumstances.

We need to rescue our word. Rescue it from the ego that is. This work has four stages: study, control, refine and purify.

Excessive talking is like fornication, it can break the Hermetic seal where little can then be created.

The more we speak about something the further we go from action. Word and action are always meant to be together.

The inner word is very powerful. It has the unique power of creating our internal states. If we are sad it was because sad words were spoken in our mind.

Our goal is to become impeccable with our word.

To become impeccable with our word requires much consciousness of the effects of our words, as well as a clear knowledge of the psychology behind our words, in the way we speak to others and receive the words of others.

Virtue Notes - (5095)

Notes Part 1

These are notes taken during a class.

We must not intellectualise the virtues but give them immediate action.

The more essence we have the more virtues can be crystallised into it and the more virtue can be expressed.

To have more essence we need to free more essence through mystical death.

All the virtues are expressed in accordance to the 'level of being' of a person.

A person has a minimum of each virtue. With the work on ourselves that is expanded upon.

Each of us have to develop certain virtues in each life that we have.

Circumstances to develop those needed virtues will repeat and repeat until we develop them.

The virtues are also sent to us from our Inner Being to be manifested here in the physical. 

A characteristic of the awakened consciousness is love. A characteristic of the ego is selfishness.

The virtues extend from Monad to Monad. The defects go from ego to ego, they are very limited.

The essence of love is others. The opposite of love is selfishness.

Selfishness is against the oneness, against the unity and the Absolute.

To know if we are expressing a defect or virtue we have to pay attention to the end result.

The virtue does not discriminate. The virtues has 'eyes' to see. It sees beyond ourselves. The defect does not see beyond that.

The power of the virtues are grandiose. Their power is greater than the power of the defects. At present we can see how powerful the defects are. They currently rule the world. Imagine then how powerful the virtues are.

The virtues are a powerful spiritual causal factor. The defects are causal also, yet they are a causal power that works through the mind in relativity and duality that then controls the emotion and action.

The causal power of the virtue goes beyond the mind into the essence beyond relativity and duality which the mind is not capable of doing.

To exercise the virtue we really need to overcome huge obstacles. Fear being the major obstacle.

The ego has inverted causal power connected to the abyss. Whereas the causal power of the virtues comes from the Monad.

Sometimes in the expression of the virtue there is a loss, however it converts later into an extraordinary gain. With the defect it is a loss and then another loss. 

There is no reasoning in the virtues. The ego reasons too much. The ego uses the mind - logic, reasons and justifications. The virtues are above reasoning.

The virtues do not classify like the mind of the defect does.

Those who have the virtue do not justify it or defend it. They are just it, they are the virtue.

It is direct action from the Being that gives and gives.

Love is one of the greatest of all virtues that dissolves all the inferior powers.

Love is always between two souls or two parties.

Love dissolves divisions and borders while the ego creates them. Karma is limiting and so the defect is an agent of karma.

The virtues dissolve the karma. Because karma is pain and the virtues are from the Being which is not pain. The virtues always liberate.

The consequences of using a virtue are positive. We can not exaggerate virtues because the result will be negative.

Justice restores the balance of the Being.

In the power of the virtue sacrifice is not about sacrificing others it is about sacrificing ourselves and our inferior nature or defects.

Dignity, majesty and balance are present in all the virtues.

In the virtues a superior good replaces an inferior one.

Know where the virtue is coming from within us. Either the awakened essence, the mind or an ego.

The virtues increase and enhance yourself and others.

Sometimes because of love we have to say no also.

The virtues usually always go beyond the interests of the mind and the ego. Because they are of a superior nature.

The virtues also help us to restore justice. They restore the equality of the outer and inner scales. They give us dharma.

Compassion is loving myself as a soul and as a Being. As a soul of my being not as a human being. As soon as we love ourselves as a soul of a Being we then cut away all these weaknesses, vices and defects. True compassion is to love ourselves consciously in the Monad.

Not loving ourselves consciously results to loving our mind and ego which increases the strength of our defects and vices.

The superior mission of our body is for us to do our work and for us to work with our Inner Being to fulfill its work.

Virtues run along side the points of reference of the work, the Being and the path. They do not run along side life, mind, ego etc. For example we are patient with ourselves in the time taken to dissolve and "I" and pay a karma. Not patient with pour defects, allowing all the time needed to express themselves. 

Applying the virtues makes us to change!

Notes Part 2

Any virtue not in its place creates an ego.

In relation to the virtue of justice, the consciousness radically awakens when we balance correctly the virtue of justice.

The use of justice is to restore the balance, dignity and majesty of the Monad.

All exaggeration destroys the virtue.

The corrupted virtue turns evil into good on one side only.

The virtue is uni-total it brings good to both or all sides involved.

This is the major difference between the corrupted virtue and the virtue. The virtue is uni-total.

The virtue is above relativity and duality while the corrupted virtue is conditioned by it.

The ego has a virtue but on one side.

The virtue is neutral. It is blind to relativity and duality, it is however clairvoyant to its own application in justice.

The virtue is an instrument of the inner Being and the Divine Law to compensate and repair.

The corrupt virtue is an instrument of the ego and the karma.

To accept a virtue the essence must have a bit of awakening and a bit of the same virtue.

The virtue serves to amend the karam and also intelligently pay the karma.

Charity, service, sacrifice, help, altruism, benevolence, co-operation, solidarity, disinterested love, etc. are some virtues necessary for the third-factor.

The interior Anubis impulses us to cultivate and use the virtue in practical life and in the karmic situations of our life.

The ego transforms the virtue to do good for only one person, ourselves or our family.

The point of reference of the virtues is the consciousness.

Each virtue is an opening and an expanding power.

Temptation is the instrument to transform a virtue into a defect (corrupted virtue).

Virtue pertains to the field of the Being and to the field of the Divine Law, where it can be used as an instrument for good (Dharma) or evil (karma).

One virtue is connected to all other virtues and if are to develop one we will draw others and the virtues multiply. Just as the ego does.

Before and In your Day Stand and Walk in Alertness - (5103)

The deep meaning of the day is to make our day a step forward on the path towards our Inner Being whether it is the left or right foot that makes that step.

Stand in alertness to receive with alertness the impressions and circumstances of the day.

Walk in alertness, generate actions of the day in full alertness.

When alert we find the work on ourselves...

Never tire of remembering to stand and walk alert during the day. Alert is being conscious, directing our attention. Remember and remember until it becomes natural/instinctive.

Only this makes our day worthwhile.

Arising Random Interests - (5101)

Many random interests arise in us along the way... 

Even though they all can be classed as a distraction they all obviously represent a encounter with ourselves. That is, they represent a part of ourselves that surfaces for a reason...

Mathematical way of saying our interests are connected to us!

Some are recurrences, some are due to the result of impressions working on our psyche over time and some are about learning.

It's good to know which is which. Because that tells us how to the best deal with them.

If they are a recurrence - then off we go to work on the ego that has drawn out the recurrence. Working on that ego liberates light and understanding and frees us from the past.

If they are are due to impressions. Then off we go work to transform more those impressions and discern if those impressions are convenient for our work as to what to do if we receive more of them.

Another way of saying some interests are for the essence to further its purpose of self-realisation.

If they are about learning something then study and internalise that study looking for what we need to take from that interest, so as to develop something in our psyche to be of use to our work, path and Being.

Love the Change and the New Person that will Emerge - (5100)

The right use of love from the work point of view is to love the change in ourselves. That is to love the new you that will appear from changing.

This use of love is a love that surpasses the petty love for ourselves, which is a petty kind of love for our defects and the way we currently are . 

Such a use of love is a power that helps us in making changes.

A love for our small selves and our defects is not really a love is it?

No Sentimentality with Ourselves when Needing to Change - (5099)

When we need to change what delays it and makes it unnecessary painful, is being sentimental, soft or considerate with our own selves.

When we feel sentimental and are considering ourselves a poor misunderstood, little cute thing, we can also feel that that is really not what our Inner Being wants from us. It really wants that we change, and change with joy so that we can embrace a new level of being...

Power of the Class Atmosphere - (5098)

Atmosphere has a real power...

Let's look at the Earth's atmosphere and imagine how would we go without it...

The atmosphere that an activity generates in a place has the power to bring out the best or the worst in us...

During a class because of its atmosphere students can understand the class better and take some rest from their minds busy with the thoughts of their different "I's".

When the atmosphere of a class is disturbed, students lose the accumulation of understanding the class was transmitting and remember the disturbance instead.

When the atmosphere of a class is held intact in harmony the main message of the class is transmitted and given the best chance to be assimilated by all the students into their own personal atmosphere.

The atmosphere of a class can be disturbed in many different ways and in varying degrees.

The word, gestures and emotional vibes are ways the atmosphere of an activity is disturbed the most. 

Comments and questions of ill-intention, comments and questions that are off topic and comments that go on for too long are the ways a class atmosphere is disturbed the most.

We can also see the principle of atmosphere working in remembering our dreams.  

If we lose the dream atmosphere that we return to the physical world with, we can remember our dreams. As soon as that atmosphere dissipates we lose the connection with our dreams and we can't remember what we dreamt anymore.

To be responsible, we should teach with the best possible atmosphere and create and help maintain the atmosphere most conducive to promote learning for all those attending the class.

Karmic Instrument Can not Be Defeated but Through Death - (5097)

We can't ever defeat any karmic instrument in whatever form it takes, through the ordinary means of force, rejection, avoidance, attack, scandal, calumny etc. 

We can certainly try but we only get more karma, we delay our progress and we delay the inevitable...

The only way is by deciding to radically die in all that the karmic instrument provokes in us. 

The karmic instrument helps us to die. That it's role, though it uses the "I's" or the left hand to do it.

The karmic instrument is there basically as an instrument to help us correct many minor and major defects in our psychology and personality,

Do not expect pleasant, calm and beautiful times with the karmic instrument....

The sooner we make these corrections the quicker the karmic instrument can be disarmed.

A karmic instrument uses certain implements to act. These implements are the will trapped in some "I's", the analysing function and comparing functions of the mind together with the knowledge stored in the mind about the past and people.

Love a Human Being not a Fantasy, Appearance or Concept of One - (5096)

It's difficult to love a human being. That is, to love a real human being, not our concept or our fantasy of how a human being should be, but as a human being really is...

As ugly and defective as they are...and as ugly and defective as we are also.

We rarely love the real human being. We love the way we think or wish they should be. Of course they never are that way, and so we are always falling out of love, because we are not loving the other person we are only loving ourselves...

We love the way we want them to be in certain circumstances. 

Realer love starts in accepting the real human being as they are. Many years can pass in distraction until we are faced to accept or not accept a person's reality.

Isn't it better to love a reality, so that we can make love real? To love our fantasy of a person is to love the unreal and consequently it is not to love. To not love and to pretend to love instead, brings hundreds upon hundreds of variations of sufferings great and small...  

That's the question, to one day, depart from ourselves and love a reality as ugly as defective as we find it.

When we know our reality as defective and ugly as it is, we can then love a reality. While we are dreaming about our own reality, we persist in loving a fantasy, and suffering appears and appears begging us to wake up...

Women who 'love' a man because he is tall may not love the man. Men who love women because of their shapely figure may not love the woman. 

The realer person is the inner person. The outer man or woman as Gnosis says obeys the inner man or woman. The inner is the real.

Women may falsely believe security, protection and reliability comes from a man's height. While men may falsely believe nurturing, softness and generosity comes from a woman's breasts.  

Loving a man's height and a woman's breasts is another way of assuring our insecurities due to our own lack of trust in our Being. 

With trust in our Being we can then surpass our smaller selves ("I's") to love the real which is the inner in each person.
