The reason is that we have the same nature within us that would treat others harshly, just as we are being treated now or were treated. The harsh treatment is actually a lesson to help us to not be like that now and in the future.

The thing is we don't know that we have the same nature within us. Speaking Gnostically, we have the same egos within us, and we are not aware of that. Consequently we believe the treatment to be unfair and that it should not be. It turns out that from the outside it looks unfair, but it is only so, because we don't know our past.

For example, we may have been so upset with our mother, because she treated us so harshly and mothers are not meant to be like that. Only later we come to know that we are like that inside if ourselves, and that is why we were treated that way.

Having been treated that way we try to be different in our life towards others. Later when those egos come out that are just the same as our mother's, we then better understand how much the same we are, we understand our mother and we can see those egos in action within us and the work on those egos begins...

With the work on those egos we can be the conduct that we would have liked from our mother or give the treatment to others that we wished that we would have received.

Introduction There are some movies that leave you with some pieces of advice that at point or another in your life or in the lives of others prove useful. This movie: “Kingdom of Heaven” was terrible to watch (too many battle scenes and people dying) but offered some very useful messages.
