Repentance

Repentance is something extraordinarily important when it comes to the question of dissolving the ego, or using other terms correcting our errors or dissolving the causes inside of us that make us to make all kinds of mistakes and errors or lead us to sin (to use the Christian terminology for errors).

A State of Consciousness

Repentance is a more than anything else a state of consciousness. It is one that appears in us for a short time only. When we feel repentance we are able to see with our consciousness the full gravity of our errors, or in other words we are able to see the harm and the error that is in the “I”. We may feel shame for having acted with this ego and shame or actually having this ego.

When the consciousness is actively repenting there is light and profound comprehension of “I” or our errors. The consciousness produces a movement inside of one that moves us away from the “I” and can be powerful enough to allow produce in our consciousness and psychology the ability to not identify or act with this ego again.

Duration of

It is a very powerful state that often is accompanied with conscious suffering and pain and does not as mentioned before does not last very long. It tends to last for duration that is needed for the consciousness to realise the reality of the “I” and its errors. If it were actually to last longer the human being would be in trouble. No human being could stand a continuous prolonged state of repentance because it would be too painful.

Precursors: Separation and Comprehension

Before repentance can appear we need to have a degree of separation and a degree of comprehension. Actually separation is an aspect of comprehension. Separation also is a state of consciousness where we see that or rather we know that the problem is really the ego in us and that we are not the ego. The ego or “I” is something separate to us. We fully understand in relation to that ego that we are the essence and it is an ego or “I” that we have to dissolve.

With comprehension we come to understand the specifics about eh role and function of that ego and we see how we don’t need it in our life and that we can solve situations in life by another means and not by using this ego. We may even also come to comprehend that the ego is a wrong functioning of one of our Being’s particular functions.

If we have processed some of the above with our consciousness we have prepared our conscious one day to process (experience) repentance in relation to one ego that we have understood or even in relation to the complete myself or the complete egoical structure that we have.

Repentance and Forgiveness

Repentance and forgiveness go hand and hand. Once we repent we can be pardoned or forgiven. When we repent when we feel repentance then we can ask for forgiveness from our Intimate Christ and from our Divine Mother.

When repentance appears in us we naturally will ask for forgiveness. Because the consciousness will be present and the consciousness is not pride, so it won’t resent others being above us while we are below them, and we are the ones that have made such grave mistakes.
