Introduction
Here are a few things that I can remember that I have learnt
from working on the egos of lust and the defect of lust in general.
1.)
Trying to dissolve the ego we learn the truth about the
nature of the thing that the ego is a distortion of. For example dissolving lust
we learn the truth about sexuality, because lust and its various “I’s” are a
distortion of sexuality.
2.)
Sexuality is a major function in us and nearly everything in
our life is because of it, depends on it and revolves around it. Therefore
working on lust changes our perspective of life and takes us to the vertical to
the path.
3.)
The bigger the ego the more ignorant we are about the true
nature of which the ego is a distortion of. When we are very lustful we know
almost nothing of sexuality.
4.)
When we see sexuality in a cosmic sense, in the wider
perspective it takes away some force from lust because lust only sees sexuality
as the sexual organs and the sexual act.
5.)
The hypnotic grip of the ego of lust is that of the promise
of pleasure. It is a thinking process with the sexual centre intervening, it is
a kind of sexual thinking devoid of the advice from the other centres.
6.)
We can have a sexual manifestation and that is fine and
natural and if the mind is naturally quite there is no problem at all the
manifestation will subside by itself or we can transmute it.
If we put into our understanding that the mind is the one
gives the sexual impulse a direction then depending on what is in our mind we
have the rise of lust or not. What we have in the mind is the determining factor.
If we have nothing then there is no lust.
7)
Lust is a search for love and acceptance, and unity but
through another and through the senses, sensations and the sexual act.
8.)
Lust is unhappiness and the loss of peace in us.
9.)
Lust is like a war in us. Mind against sex, or emotion
against sex, we disconnect from the sexual force in us. Integration with sex in
a conscious and dignifying way fixes this.
10.)
Lust disconnects us from wholeness and oneness, it divides
us.
11.)
A function of lust is to always lower our level of Being.
12.)
Lust is linked with all the other egos.
13.)
Working on lust brings us concentration, because we have
unity in us.
14.)
Working on lust (diminishing it with comprehension) brings
us peace, relaxation, strength, vitality and energy.
15.)
Lust does not equal love.
16.)
Working on lust allows us feelings of altruism and stops
selfishness. Lust connects us to our fantasy and desires.
Working on lust connects us to real people. Lust connects us
to mental people, images, scenarios and fantasy.
17.)
Some things we think are right to do are not actually done in
society or are wrong and we need to learn all these things which are ok and not
ok. Working on lust teaches us these things.
18.)
Transmutation is the solution, the magic biological key that
channels the sexual drive and energy.
19.)
Don't feed lust, it only gets worse!
20.)
Lust is ultimately dissolved through the work of Alchemy. We
can do a lot of work on it being single removing much lustful concepts, images
etc. from the mind though ultimately lust finds its end through the
transmutation and the artifice that created it (sex).
Conclusion
Some points to think about that I hope of are of some help.
