Continuity, Memory and Consistency - (373)

Introduction

Continuity, memory, purpose, capacity, and results are fire factors that go well 1g one-and relatively important in the work on ourself and for that matter in anything and in any project in life.

A Work

Whenever we take on a work we have an end result in sight and that end result gives us the purpose or reason for taking on this work.

Sometimes though, we have to though do the work for the love of doing the work and forgetting all about the end result.

Normally, after having the end result in sight and the purpose, we have our certain innate capacity to do the work. However we may not have just yet continuity and memory related to that work we are taking on.

Continuity

Continuing is a magic ingredient for success in any project or work that we take on. It is to establish a line of work, in other words a series of steps that build upon each other. Usually, we leave huge gaps between the steps and if the time that passes in one of these gaps is too long we slip backwards and lose the steps that we gained.

Then we progress in a forward, backward type of a motion. This is really not continuity.

Memory

Memory comes into the picture in establishing continuity. We need continuity to remember our previous steps and build upon those already taken. A good notebook with a reasonably detailed written record helps immensely.

Continuity Most Important!

The most or one of the most important things in the work is continuity and doing or making steps regularly, every hour, day, week etc.

Continuity allows us to establish a continuous line or flow and this, even though it is slow will lead to success in achieving the end result.

Capacity

We have to measure our capacity to establish a regular effort or series of steps. We have to be taking steps or trying to take steps regularly, say everyday but how much time, how much effort, how much intensity etc. we put in must be measured, according to our capacity.

If we overdo it we will get tired and we will stop our regular efforts. Then we will break our continuity and the end result begins to slip away from us.

Conclusion

The very best thing to do in the work on ourselves or in any project or work is to establish a continuous effort.

But to make efforts that we can make everyday. Even though they are small steps, if we keep consistent we will increase our capacity and we will triumph. We just need time and more importantly not to waste time.
