Work In Series or Work in Parallel – (499)

Always Wondered which is Best

I have always wondered which is the best way to do things in life and in the esoteric and psychological work. Here is what I have found so far.

Many of the Same

From working at factory packing boxes with a variety of different items, I found by trial and error that the best way for me and also the guy who taught me was to not to complete one box and then the next and then the next but to lay out all the boxes and then put 2 brackets for example in each box then four screws in each box, then four nuts in box, then one console in each box, then one user manual in each box and so on, until each box was complete then close each box and tape them all up one at a time. This way worked out to be the quickest and the most enjoyable and less tiring actually.

We can work the ego this way too, it is crazy to just work on one ego until it is dead and forget the others, because the others can get very active, distract us and even cause us to make some big mistakes. So we can work on one ego decently then do the same practice on another ego and so on. There are times though that we just have to use will power to control the other egos and work very hard on one because it is making our life a living hell and also putting our path in danger.

Many Different

When at work we may have many different tasks to do. I have found the best way to go about that is to work in series, that is work one at a time. The trick though is to write a list of priorities. I often do the small and easy ones first then tackle the harder and longer tasks next.

Concentrating and focussing on one task at a time is very good, it gives us continuity, keeps one thing in our centres and makes life simpler. When we work on many things at once, that is work on something then switch, then switch back, you soon get the lost feeling or the tired and dispersed feeling. This is because our attention and energies are being dispersed among too many different tasks. We often at the end of the day we can’t remember what we have really done.

We can work on the ego this way as well.

Conclusion

Perhaps if you are wondering also which the best way to work at things, then maybe try these suggestions out and see how you go. I think it is really worth while finding out which way to do things is best for us, because it will help us to make progress and save us a lot of time.

End (499).

Attention with Mind, Attention with Essence - (5197)

These two attentions are different. Attention with the mind tires the brain. and reduces the flow of life into steps, where it is inevitable that the narration of the mind begins to take over. With the awareness of steps comes a certain tediousness and the feeling of the flow of life leaving us behind. With the attention of mind very little of what's behind events comes to us... Attention with the essence brings the power of presence, in other words brings a certain depth and continuity of flow  Attention with the essence doesn't tire or strain and opens doorways into perceiving what is behind events and the thoughts and feelings that appear within us. It allows us also to flow with the flow of life, which is a pleasant feeling. Conclusion, make the essence bring attention to outer and inner life. End (5197).

The Sacred Substance Askokin - (962)

Introduction In simple terms, the sacred Askokin substance is the result of the mercury and the sulphur. It is the transmuted energy that crystallises to form the internal bodies (astral, mental and causal). In other words, it is the transmutation of our sexual energies. The Abrustdonis’ and ‘Helkdonis that Gurdjieff mentions in the excerpt below, taken from “Belzeebub’s Tales to His Grandson” are none other than the elements of mercury and the sulphur so spoken about in Alchemy. Excerpt on the Sacred Substance Askokin “I first learned that the destiny of beings arising on this planet of yours is chiefly to elaborate—by means of the process of their existence—the vibrations required by Nature for the maintenance of those former parts of the planet now called Moon and Anulios, when, do you remember, I became worthy personally to converse for the second time with His Conformity the then still Angel, but now Archan...

Wisdom from the Movie “Kingdom of Heaven” - (2168)

Introduction There are some movies that leave you with some pieces of advice that at point or another in your life or in the lives of others prove useful. This movie: “Kingdom of Heaven” was terrible to watch (too many battle scenes and people dying) but offered some very useful messages. In this post, I have presented a few, that have come in handy at point or another. Just to give you a bit of context, the movie is about the crusades, where the French and English were trying to defend the “Holy City” – Jerusalem from Islamic occupation. The topic of religion and God is a constant theme in the movie. It is very violent though, matching it frankly, quite awful to watch. Your Soul is in Your Keeping Alone An interesting dialogue between the French appointed king of Jerusalem and French Knight, the protagonist of the movie. Note, the king wears that metal mask because he has leprosy. King Baldwin I...
