Karmic links work to keep two or more parties related somehow. The karmic link serves to join the two or more parties so that they affect each other according to the karma. Which can mean to help each other or hit each other making each other suffer.
When the karma has been paid and there is invisible balance, the link dissolves and the two or more parties can just drift apart or continue. If they continue this time it is on a much higher octave, as the karmic ill-will element is absent.
Karmic links are an instrument of karma and are indestructible - only if the karma has been paid can they change.
