Notes on the Wider Scope of Fornication - (5710)

Introduction

This post attempts to present the many areas in which fornication occurs. Fornication not only occurs in relation to the physical loss of sexual energy.

Notes

Definition

Fornication is a word in Gnostic studies that basically means: "to burn out". As in how a fire can burn out a house.

It implies to consume something until there is little or nothing left.

Fornicaton in general is related to expending values, energies and resources.

We are all free and have the right to use our energies and values as we please. However, we can all objectively discern what kind of use brings enhancement to us and what kind does not.

It can be seen that when we use our energies and values wisely, enhancement follows and there is little or no loss. However, using our energies unwisely, in the style of fornication, we see that no kind of enhancement follows.

Money, physical resources, psychological and spiritual values as well as all kinds of energies, are very applicable to fornication.

The general theme of fornicnation is to spend what is truly precious for something that has little value. Just as in the example from Mathew 7:6 in the bible: "Do not give that which is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, for they will trample them under their feet".

Areas

Fornication occurs in the mind, with the word, in the emotion with anger and worry, and in the sexual centre with the physical loss of the sexual energy.

When we overthink and think excessively to no useful end about something, we are using up precious mental energy. When we get a head ache and feel 'down', that is the result of what could be called mental fornication.

When we 'spill the beans' and or talk excessively that is fornication in the word. Speaking breaks seals in which things are needed to grow and develop.

Fornication besides expending energies and values breaks seals.

There is also fornication when one allows others to wash his or her values or principles away.

Fornication and betrayal share some relation. To fornicate in any area is at the very bottom of it, to betray oneself. Because one denies oneself to enhance oneself. Often it is the case that betrayal of a spouse does not occur for one to transmute but for one to fornincate.

Source of Energies

All the energies of the centres come from the energy of the sexual centre. When we fornicate through the mind or word we are actually also expending the energy of the sexual centre, which brings us back to fornication being of the sexual energy.

The more significant degrees of fornication are to do with the energies of life and creation. Which are the sexual energy, imagination and the word.

Our sexual energy is the final synthesis of everything we think, feel and do. In other words, if we fornicate a lot in our mind and word, then our sexual energy will inevitably become weak, and so there will be the tendency for our sexual energy to be weak also. Even the transmutation of the sexual energy may be weak.

Fornication does not allow something the right conditions to grow and develop. So fornication stunts creation, the crystallisation of virtues and the awakening of consciousness. Anything that requires an accumulation of energy to build upon and produce a break-through to a new level.

Other Characteristics

Fornication as we can see produces misery. To expend most or all of what we have, brings us misery. It is an action of ingratitude of not valuing and looking after the precious gifts we were given and taught how to cultivate and maintain.

To fornicate is something unjust. We can use our energies as we wish - we have that right, that is clear. However in fornicating, that is spending our energies on things that don't bring a return, causes us to take from elsewhere to replenish what has been lost. This is the unjust aspect of fornication.

In the fullest sense of the term, to not fornicate is not an easy task. It implies to cover many areas gross and subtle.

Attention with Mind, Attention with Essence - (5197)

These two attentions are different. Attention with the mind tires the brain. and reduces the flow of life into steps, where it is inevitable that the narration of the mind begins to take over. With the awareness of steps comes a certain tediousness and the feeling of the flow of life leaving us behind. With the attention of mind very little of what's behind events comes to us... Attention with the essence brings the power of presence, in other words brings a certain depth and continuity of flow  Attention with the essence doesn't tire or strain and opens doorways into perceiving what is behind events and the thoughts and feelings that appear within us. It allows us also to flow with the flow of life, which is a pleasant feeling. Conclusion, make the essence bring attention to outer and inner life. End (5197).

The Sacred Substance Askokin - (962)

Introduction In simple terms, the sacred Askokin substance is the result of the mercury and the sulphur. It is the transmuted energy that crystallises to form the internal bodies (astral, mental and causal). In other words, it is the transmutation of our sexual energies. The Abrustdonis’ and ‘Helkdonis that Gurdjieff mentions in the excerpt below, taken from “Belzeebub’s Tales to His Grandson” are none other than the elements of mercury and the sulphur so spoken about in Alchemy. Excerpt on the Sacred Substance Askokin “I first learned that the destiny of beings arising on this planet of yours is chiefly to elaborate—by means of the process of their existence—the vibrations required by Nature for the maintenance of those former parts of the planet now called Moon and Anulios, when, do you remember, I became worthy personally to converse for the second time with His Conformity the then still Angel, but now Archan...

Wisdom from the Movie “Kingdom of Heaven” - (2168)

Introduction There are some movies that leave you with some pieces of advice that at point or another in your life or in the lives of others prove useful. This movie: “Kingdom of Heaven” was terrible to watch (too many battle scenes and people dying) but offered some very useful messages. In this post, I have presented a few, that have come in handy at point or another. Just to give you a bit of context, the movie is about the crusades, where the French and English were trying to defend the “Holy City” – Jerusalem from Islamic occupation. The topic of religion and God is a constant theme in the movie. It is very violent though, matching it frankly, quite awful to watch. Your Soul is in Your Keeping Alone An interesting dialogue between the French appointed king of Jerusalem and French Knight, the protagonist of the movie. Note, the king wears that metal mask because he has leprosy. King Baldwin I...
