Gnostic Wisdom

Negative attitudes are not really true are they? They do not really represent the truth about a person, an event or a scenario. When I find myself expressing or harbouring a negative attitude, I question it, and honestly I can say that my negative attitude, no matter how powerful and convincing it is, does not represent the truth. Find out for yourself,question your next negative attitude and see in all honestly, hand on your heart, how true it really is. To see this is a micro awakening. We wake up to our many follies behind our negativity. End (3066).

Courage starts as imagination, as hope and as a bit of trust. If there is no risk there can be no call for courage. When we take up courage we are risking something. If we are prepared to put something on the line (risk losing something) we are courageous. No one can deny that we need courage for the path. You have courage already, you just may be think that courage is something else! As soon as we act and put our courage into action we no longer hope or imagine we know, and this firm knowledge increases our courage many fold. It becomes firm! End (3066).

To do just one thing at a time requires death. Mystical death that is. To do just one thing at a time all day with all of our attention consciously placed on what we are doing is not easy. We face the obstacle of  'the more', and the obstacle of the false internally talking person. The real person is the essence which is mostly silent and can manage conscious attention. The false talking person always wants to be more by thinking or talking a lot in our mind. It wants to do 'more' things than what we are currently doing. It feels it must be more than a simple physical body placing conscious attention onto something very human and even trivial. If we can defeat the false talking person inside of us and just be doing what we are doing we are really relaxed and humble. Plus we are close to reality, more conscious and we are dying. If we have a karmic debt, that is not bad. We have it so that we can pay it and acquire a new degree of will. I repeat, it is there to be paid, slowly, quickly, half-half: slow then fast, fast then slow, it just does not matter... It stops being an obstacle or an impediment when we decide to pay it and use our will to pay it. Our karmic debts are waiting to be paid - waiting for us to decide and take up our will to pay them! Seize the Day "Seize the day" they say! Ceasing the day does feel better when we are wanting to take advantage of time. Sometimes we really need to make the most of our time and at other times we need to trust, let go and flow on and not worry about time but enjoy the moments.  This idea of this post is to give an idea of how to help cease the day. Five Minutes to the Hour We have to start the day telling ourselves that even though I really want to work on myself and progress the mystical death death, I actually need to do it. So I have to be a bit tough on myself! We all have phones which have alarms and timers on them. So, if we start by setting an alarm at five minutes to the hour every second hour. When the alarm goes off we can stop the alarm and go inside and then work mystically, psychologically as we prefer. Acceptance is powerful. With it we embrace reality and stop our war with reality - which only ever produces endless sufferings. This has happened to us all - right! How angry can we get. One boss I had wanted to fire the person who didn't replace the toilet paper roll. No one owned up to it because I think it was me... It all comes around in the end. Here are two examples where acceptance is useful - you are in a hurry and there is an empty toilet paper roll which you don't notice until late in the picture, and you are in a hurry again and you don't notice that the screw-top is sitting loose on a sauce bottle and you shaky hastily. You end up with much more sauce than you wanted and then the war starts - "who didn't screw the top back on, who did that?". Acceptance is Key Acceptance - is the key. It happened, just clean it up and it is over in less than a minute. All done! Something inside wants to wage war - accept once again. Soothe the war...

To a large degree this is very true. Take control of one's own imagination one can control the many processes of lust in the mind and emotion. This is because most of lust's processes involve the use of imagination as do the processes of fear. The more one controls their imagination the more aware one can become too. As it is always usually the imagination that takes one away from reality and the moment. End (3060).

The sphinx, master Samael says, with its four parts indicates to us that we need certain virtues to be able to do the esoteric work. One such quality is courage. Courage is really will and focus. When we are open to being able to do something and then we begin to think and later believe that we can do it we are putting courage into movement.  Cowardice is the opposite of this. Courage and cowardice use the same amount of energy, only that one uses energy in a direction opposite to the other. As soon as you are open and believe and then focus and drive will into something we are courageous and we are about to try and succeed or if not we will succeed in subsequent attempts. Courage is something not so mysterious or as hard as we think. It is not only about jumping off a cliff into water below or fighting a tall, huge, muscly and fierce opponent.  A lion is very courageous by nature as it always sets off to fight so to protect its pride.  End (...

We have a destiny already set up. When we look towards a new end or aim we begin to create a new line of destiny. The more we imagine, will and act along this new line the former we create it. To such an extent it overcomes the old line. This happens with the work on ourselves in the most tremendous way. Because the work on yourself opens up a new line that extends into the future far beyond the scope and extent of your own human life. End (3058).

When a person feels some kind of sexual desire transmutation takes that desire which is a kind of energy up from the sexual centre into the brain and into the heart. When this energy of desire makes contact with these higher centres it takes on a different quality. In other words it gets transformed.  It gets transformed into something more human and upright and even spiritual. Because these higher centres within us have different qualities. The situation gets difficult when we leave the energy of desire in the sexual centre. This causes the sexual centre to try and deal with the desire by thinking for itself and by-itself (lust intervenes making it all worse). Which is something that the sexual centre is not designed to do. It is an engine that is driven by knowledge. A superior knowledge drives the energy of sexual centre to superior purposes and destinations.  End (3057).

Having negative attitudes, feelings, thoughts etc. towards people is something that universal understanding which is very wide and elastic does't really gel with. Universal understanding accepts every possibility in human beings and does not allow the person who embraces a more universal understanding to be too surprised, disappointed or irritated with the many small differences that exist between human beings. It is really pride that is behind so much of these negative attitudes, annoyances and concepts that we have with others. It is very subtle but underneath it all, there is a pride. A pride that thinks that they are wrong, inferior, silly etc. and because they are all those things in our mind, their opinions, ideas, ways of doing things are annoying and make us angry especially when we are affected by them or they impinge upon us in some way or the other. The best is to think universally and big, that everyone is right and they are all ok - they are not inferior,...

Imagination is an energy. It is linked to our vital or etheric energies. We don't think of it as being an energy but it certainly is. Will is an energy, which is easy for us to see. Will and imagination combine. Will being energy can only combine with another energy.  Imagination has the power of condensing or bringing imagined form into physical reality. This is what energy does. Energy and matter are interchangeable. Energy condenses into matter and matter by action of fire becomes energy once again. Because imagination is energy it activates and moves many things within us and within our life. End (3055.)

Lost without Imagination I think that without imagination we would be so lost. The faculty of imagination allows us to put ourselves into the shoes of others and therefore change our self-centred reference point and see things from a wider perspective. Always try and seek the wider perspective of any issue. The very narrow, focused, tunnel vision view of any event or issue is one that leads easily to suffering. Imagination helps us to see the wider view. Seek the Wider View - Always Helps The faculty of imagination allows us to do this, to see the wider view and perspective on things, especially about ourselves.  If ever in any trouble please just check out the wider and greater view - a first port of call because this will really help you! And you can then go from there to seek a remedy or a solution. End (3054).

It's fireplace season in Australia being winter down here.  Doing a little concentration on fire imagining one to be just consciousness melting into the flames a flash of feeling about fire comes to you. Fire is pure expanding energy and that brings will, strength and confidence.  When one has lots of energy one also has lots of will, confidence and strength. It is good to concentrate on fire, imagine yourself to be like fire, merge into it, while invoking the Gods of fire to help ourselves out when we are feeling low. End (3053).

This is something quite true but hard to come to terms with. But if we do, that is understand this well it is really freeing and wonderful! The ego in ourselves and in people gets upset, annoyed, angry, resentful, lustful, jealous etc. at anyone no matter who we are. This is because it reacts/manifests based on impressions and based on its interpretations of the impressions. That is why we think: "I am your good friend, don't yell at me" but we get yelled at all the same and feel really hurt. We even think "if I was the neighbour they would not yell at me and I have done more for them than the stupid neighbour". So we can start to see that we are not special for the ego, for the essence yes, but not for the ego. Even I would rather stay on the side of being an essence than being special. We get quite upset because we feel that we are beyond being yelled at, and should not be yelled at. The truth is that when the ego occupies all of the mind...
