African Ancestor Worship and the Tree of Life - (6034)

From the Western Gnostic point of view, ancestor worship as performed in Africa is something not usually referenced.   From the Gnostic teachings point of view, a deceased grandmother is a human being that will return to life on Earth in a new human body. Though for African spirituality someone's dead grandmother becomes an spiritual ancestor that is worshipped, revered and called upon many times for advice, guidance and for worldly as well as spiritual help. Interestingly from the Gnostic point of view our Divine Mother, even our Human soul - who as an essence - we are a detachment of, as well as Chesed (our spirit and father) plus Kether (the father of our father) are the ancestors of our essence. So perhaps ancestor worship in African spirituality is really an externalization of the internal veneration of the parts of our own Inner Being. The tendency these days is to polarise what is internal and real to an external representation that has truth but not the deep truth and ...

Nervous System and Survival Mode - (6033)

It is said by many in South Africa that a very large number of people are living in survival mode. Meaning their nervous system is always in something like flight and fight mode. It seems that this is also the general mode of modern living where we are always 'on the go' chasing something - sometimes the bare necessity to survive and sometimes dreams... In such a state there is little capacity to contemplate spirituality. There is only the fear and the irrational urge to fight for one's survival. To be able to contemplate spirituality in such situations starts with treating the nervous system. That is starting off by addressing the physical to then enter the psychological. Deeper and longer breathing, an open and upright posture and use calmer and steady, yet balanced  words. As soon as the nervous regulates and the person's state changes they can then listen to Gnostic teachings. Where they heard them before but could not listen to them. Here is a very interesting imag...

Give FIRST is the Law - (6032)

The "Law of Give and Take" works in a specific way. The way is in the name itself: Give and Take. To receive something we first have to give. It is against this great law to be waiting. There is much taught about waiting for het flow of life, that is true and we need to do that, and we can only do that once we have given trust to our Inner Being. So much wisdom comes from this Law.  The line: "no one is going to save you" is an example of this. If we give work to ourselves and help others to save themselves we will receive help to be saved. If we are in a hard place - to get out of it we need to give first. When we are in a hard place psychologically we need to give first. End (6032).

Accept the Gymnasium - (6031)

The issue we have is that we don't accept the many psychological gymnasiums that present themselves in our lives. We spend most of our times protesting against them, trying to get out of them, avoiding them and complaining about them. Thinking a gymnasium should not be is not working on what it is presenting to us. We waste so many hours and opportunities protesting against a gymnasium. We even waste so much time analysing the gymnasium. When really what a gymnasium is for is for us to learn the value we need to give and then go and give it! The gymnasium ends when we accept it. That is we take responsibility for it being in our life and we decide to work on what it is presenting to us. The only resistance to accepting it is pride. This resistance comes in many forms. We feel for some reason it shouldn't be that way, it is wrong, we don't deserve that we are better than that and the list goes on... Basically it is all pride. To accept is humility and when we accept not befo...

Connection to Divine Mother Starts Through Prayer and Imagination - (6009)

How do we make a connection to the Divine Mother within? The feeling for Her is the door way to the direct experience of Her. The direct experience of Her leads to the real knowledge of Her being within us. She is not a thing to verify and prove but something to adore and internally live close to. It is worth much more to live with Her in our heart, adoring, remembering and acting in honour of Her than seeing her and proving that she exists within us. Often to prove that She exists is to then tick a box and forget Her. To 'know' and 'live by' are the two powers that unite to produce conscious faith. Reflection and imagination are the biggest helpers to build this connection alongside the cultivation of the feeling. The first place in which we can meet her is with our mind's eye in our inner space. The reflection on Her builds the feeling for Her, and the feeling will produce the cause and the condition for us to know. At the end of the day we have to produce within ...

How Judging Dissolves Love - (6030)

Somebody makes food with love and hope, and then we judge the food.  To judge we must compare and rate. When we compare and score, the mind enters and what was made with love and hope becomes all about the past, the future, other people, other people, while the real energies made the food are pushed into the background, and it becomes about the relative taste and appearance. That is the taste and appearance relative to what others have done or are doing. That is a good example of how the sensorial mind takes over using a system of judging and the reality of remains hidden only to be seen by the inner mind that can see the love and hope the food was made with. This is a good example of how judging dissolves our vision of the reality behind things and dissolves the noble qualities. End (6030).

Selfish People End-Up Not Giving to Themselves - (6029)

Selfish people who in life don't give others much of anything, whether it be time, energy, consideration, gifts, money and good will, end up not giving those exact same things to themselves.  Their goal in not giving is to save all of those things for themselves, and as a strange twist of fate they seem not to be able to give it to themselves. Later in life they stop caring for themselves, they don't spend the money they saved and they don't enjoy the time they saved for themselves either, because they become very bitter all the time especially when alone with their own thoughts. The irony of it all is that what they didn't want to give to others, ends up being given a by life itself to others when they die or can no longer administer it all. This is because there is truly a law out there called the Law of Give and Take - that is the reciprocity of all things.  We give to others to give to ourselves and we give to ourselves to give to others, that's how that law wor...

Dharma for the Path - (6026)

The circumstances of the path for some from the outside look really nice. A mission with nice people, in a nice city and with a lot of support. That is their dharma. They have earnt to do their path within such circumstances. Obviously from the past. While others due to their karma and the balancing (learning) walk their path within very different circumstances. The Inner Being also decides what It needs to learn and those needs reflect in our path's circumstances. Sometimes the Being only needs to work to restore the fire and light within It's inner structure and there is not so much karma to balance. Meaning apparently easy life circumstances. Difficult and troublesome circumstances are not needed. Also the Inner Being may take on a mission for the love of humanity with all its included and implied difficult circumstances. Passing through these difficult circumstances may not be needed but provide added merit to the Inner Being for It's path. Then sometimes we have so muc...

Get Out of Poverty - (6023)

This is an important topic for people, especially in countries where there is physical poverty. When we are in circumstances of physical poverty it is very difficult to work on ourselves.  Truly it is difficult to start the work in such conditions and it is even difficult while we are already working on ourselves.  To work on ourselves while in poverty would mean a very dramatic change in lifestyle and change in life circumstances. We tend to think being poor is a really good condition to work on ourselves. For a certain time it really is. However for a prolonged duration it really isn't.  It is also very difficult to work on ourselves being very internally poor. This is how most of us start the work on ourselves. Physically well provided for but internally poor. Even though we are poor physically and internally there is always something that we have that we can make use of. This is the good news. In general karma is not totally merciless. The karma always gives us a tool...

Flying Stairs Temple - (6028)

Many temples are up on a hill and have so many stairs leading up to them. The oriental temples seem to be built this way, as are the pyramids of Egypt and South America. The stairs represent the way to heaven. Indicating that we must climb - one step at a time. They also are representative of the vertebra that the kundalini ascends, that is from one vertebra or step to the next. They show that the heavens are conquered one didactic pass at a time and that a descent is taken with as much effort as climbing. When climbing the effort is to lift oneself and in descending the effort is to not become unbalanced and fall. A fall is different. In a fall a large number of steps are flown over at a time. A fall is not didactic, and of course it always has a reason and a cause. As one falls one tumbles and rolls with the law of accidents, as one does falling down a flight of stairs. They also represent the many steps and the effort we need to make to climb to the heights within the spheres of our...

Temples are Orderly Clean Places - (6027)

Every temple that we can visit here in the physical world, no matter the denomination is clean and orderly. This invites us to reflect that our inner temple should also be clean and orderly.  The vestibule of our inner temple is our psychological space. So if our psychological space is clean and orderly this will help the inner temple. Clean equals no thinking and the conscious use of the mind. Orderly equals an organised psyche, which is only possible by bringing as much as we can our consciousness to be the priority and giving it a chance to function. End (6027).

Do Your Practices in the Third State of Consciousness - (6025)

That's really good advice to do our practices from within the third state of consciousness. Not ever thinking about doing the practice or or narrating to ourselves the practice.  Start by observing ourselves practicing. Be aware of how we are practicing, however we are, from the second state or third state or second and two thirds state, whatever it may be. Stay there, keep letting go of thinking and keep observing and stay there. Wait for the separation to appear when we start to shift into being that awareness that is aware of itself. Then dive deeper into the practice. End (6025).

Karma that Forces Self-Doubting Panic - (6024)

To be too sure of ourselves to such an extent that we cross the line of fairness and cause hurt to others  results in situations where we doubt ourselves resulting in a state of panic that we can't control.  This attitude of being too sure of ourselves ends up in us taking the right others have to explain or defend themselves.  When we are balanced in the certainty about ourselves we don't take the right others have to explain.  It could be the elements of pride and fear that is behind this attitude. The best remedy for pride is justice and the remedy for fear is trust.  A good way to deal with such people who conduct themselves through this attitude is to state one's rights calmly and trusting in the correctness of what is just.  End (6024).

No One is Stopping Us - (6023)

For the approval seeker or people pleaser the common belief is that people won't like something that we want to do or that simply we are not allowed to do something that we want or need to do. This is really just another hallucination of the "I". Another false belief that must be dissolved. People are not stopping us and even if they are, truly very few people can really stop us. Perhaps momentarily but in the long run, that's not really possible. End (6023).

Basic Upwards Flow of Consciousness - (5976)

This post gives the basic stages that occurs when we move through a lower state of consciousness to a higher one. First we start being identified with something negative and we are in a negative state of consciousness. Consequently we experience a flow of negative thoughts. In such a state, the priority is to lift up into a normal state of consciousness.  As we calm our nervous system and displace the negative state of consciousness we enter a mundane state of consciousness where the thoughts are neutral and trivial but not of a negative nature. We also fall into a day-dreamy state but it is very much mundane and normal. As we realise that we are now in a normal day-dream state, we begin to become aware and by being aware of being aware the mind begins to quieten. As we enter deeper into the quietness of the mind in this conscious, relaxed yet alert state, all the prayer, concentration, imagination and mystical practices become possible and give fruit. This is another way of saying...

Two Ways to the Top - (6015)

In the human sphere there are two ways to the top. One way is to go by yourself and create your own mini-sphere. Blaze your own way to the top. The second way is to go and be the best and most loyal 'right-hand man', and when the person at the top quits, retires or passes away, rise to the top. Both ways really have their price. There is great sacrifice to be made in both ways. The sacrifices are expressed differently but involve the same values (time, energy, family, friends, ourselves, desires, comfort zones etc.). Both are hard work that's the sure main thing in common. The same in the spiritual sphere. There are the wet and dry ways to the top. The dry way leans more to the way of 'creating your own mini-sphere' kind of way. Because you directly serve a greater number of others and more directly and deeper on yourself, which is the Christic way. End (6015).

Wisdom of Real Self-Love is in Non-Reaction - (6023)

Self-love in the egoic sense expresses in reaction. To love ourselves in the conscious way is the correct thing to do. So to have self-love is correct it is just how consciously is it expressed. When self-love is expressed mechanically it is expressed through the other person as a reference point and the way of expression is through reaction. The conscious self-love is expressed through non-reaction. It is the non-reaction that opens the door to generating true self-love. Each unfair comment directed our way becomes fair when we use it to increase our quality of self-love. This is essentially how we overcome the unfairness that mechanical self-love reacts to. At the heart of the mechanical defense reactions of self-love is the protection of the love for ourselves. If we always react when we are treated with unfair disrespect it will be truly difficult to develop conscious self-love. With mechanical self-love we often think we are not worthy of the love of others and so we get disappoin...

How to Give to Yourself - (6022)

A concrete way of doing this while avoiding falling into new age romanticism, that can feel 'fake', is to observe carefully the negativity of the ego and give to ourselves exactly the opposite of the negativity. The ego then becomes the reference point. This is in fact to do the opposite of the ego within ourselves. Also as it is essentially the ego that is bothering us with its negative inner talk, giving ourselves the opposite of what the ego is giving us, is really what we need. There is little point in giving ourselves things that we don't quite need, and that is often why we have the feeling: "that is good but not quite it, almost but not quite what we need". Through observation of the ego we have the all the keys we need to give accurately and appropriately to ourselves. For example, before we get angry we give to ourselves a lot of poison. The opposite is to give to ourselves sweetness and true values of psychological nourishment. Then we get angry at the o...

Internal State Through Events Matters Most - (6021)

What matters most really is how we pass though the events of our life. Not so much on what happens in the event. When we are trying for a certain result, for example, to win a contract, what matters more is how we were internally when we were trying. What were our inner qualities like? No matter if we won the or lost the contract how was our inner state is the question. If we make our inner state the priority then things will shift in us and we can triumph. That is something that we can actually determine. Wining or losing the contract is something that we can not in many cases determine.  No matter what happens, holding onto our values and keeping them high is the the most important thing of all.  Shifting priorities to the inner takes away the desperation, the frustration, fear and uncertainty. End (6021).

Rolled up Crinkled Handout - (6020)

When someone rolls up the class handout using it a baton to tap to beat out a tune, and or leaves it on the floor and one of the chair's legs accidentally rides on top of it, crinkling it - we know the chances are high that they are not going to read it. What we value, we look after and protect. When we value something the emotional centre is operating. What is intellectual only to us, we don't tend to value or look after. What's real to us has emotional weight. What we value also has importance to us. These are important observations that we can use to make great changes. When we are told for example that we have an attitude towards something that causes us to be  disengaged, disoriented, disassociated, aloof, distrusting and disdaining, it means that are emotional centre is not operating.  All of these attitudes and many more all disappear when we put the particular issue/s into our emotional centre. The intellect is what complicates things. The rigid intellect as well as...

The Performer, Speaker, Artist, Teacher, Priest, Politician Glows but the Person... - (6019)

Is different is one word.  The truth is it happens everywhere and it is nothing more than an expression of a person's different facers and the effects of the atmosphere and environment. That is something that we should understand and know that the glowing person on stage is different in real life. End (6019).

Practical Gnostic Sexuality Notes - (6017)

Purpose Notes in point form for the preparation of this talk topic. "Transmutation is a biological insurrection and a psychological revolution."  Alchemy is not a method to avoid having children, it is a practice for the realisation of the Being within us. It is practiced to fuse ourselves evermore deeper with our interior Divinity. Alchemy is a vehicle of realisation, as it awakens the fire and builds the solar bodies. It also has the power to dissolve all our egos. Notes Introduction • This talk is about the Practice of the Alchemy. It's aim is to provide practical guidance for the practice of Alchemy. • The practice of Alchemy is a true practice of deep transformation. It is practiced for the Being within and for the Being within our partner. • The reference point of the practice is not ourselves or our bodies' desires but the realisation of the Being.  • It is a sacred act of inner creation. • Quality is the guide for each practice. we must seek improved quality a...

Be Happy to Give - (6016)

The way to giving is to cultivate the happiness of giving. To feel happy to give to others in whatever form that may take is the way to develop giving. Using happiness and forgetting astuteness is the road to developing the power of giving. Astuteness comes into play trying to not give or give less or give later. Astuteness is also that which expects something in return. No gift is empty as that gift will boomerang back to you when you most need it. To be giving means you can be or are already an instrument of the Divine Law and the White Lodge of their benevolence. To give for giving sake also helps us to forget about the pain of giving which is all about not getting anything back in return. Regarding astuteness everyone turns out to be astute to some degree and the one being astute thinks that the others don't know he is being astute. The goal of astuteness to not give but make the other person to give.  Giving is affected when we forgive the   To give means to ignore a...

Patience is not so Much About Time but About Holding Hope - (6018)

When it comes to patience it is not really about the time. It is more about being able in ourselves to hold high a high quality of hope. It is the quality of hope that we have that sees us through the time we need to wait. If the quality of hope and faith be high, time goes quickly. End (6018).

All Hands On To Pass Through at High Level in Our Being - (6012)

What is most important is that we do this - hold the values of the work which are directly shared by our Inner Being up high within us. If we fail, hold them up, and if we triumph hold them up, no matter what. Giving the values and pushing them up high is always the best thing to do. It is the most rewarding and the thing that gives the least regrets. It is an effort that will stay with us and improve us. This effort takes up life in our work memory and radiates faith in the work and the Inner Being within us. This is exactly what the transmutation is all about. It is to raise the values - that is the transmuted sexual energy up high within us. That is towards our inner heavens which from the body's point of view is our brain and heart. For the values to rise, heat, sensation, interaction are needed and we must make the effort for the values/energy to rise.  The values are not made to rise unless there is some heat, interaction of opposites, sensation pleasant or unpleasant. That i...

Giving Notes - (6013)

Intro Here are some notes about giving. They are discoveries and may they be of some help. Notes To develop giving, the right conditions for it, really help. The basic element that must be present in those conditions is that there are or there is someone that is less fortunate in whatever sense. In short, go where there is little. Where there is poverty of some kind... There is poverty of many kinds...Not only physical, there is internal poverty and there is poverty of time and poverty of values and poverty of knowledge and skills. To develop giving we must have something to give others. What we have within to give shows us where to go and what to give. In wanting to give we develop ourselves. Because once 'we have something' we can give. The easiest kind of giving has to do with money... We can always make more money but we can not make more time or health in some cases. It is also not easy to make values. This takes hard work and time. We can't judge before giving, if we ...

Know these Cases to Better Steer Our Life - (6014)

Know Knowing the below ten cases helps us to better steer our life. The Twelve Cases One There are things that we are doing that are correct. This is becasue there is an internal reality and depth to them, which comes from deep within. There we feel relaxed and fulfilled. Two There are things that we are doing that are incorrect. This is because our actions are against our inner values, or they are not right for us to be doing at this stage. There we feel anxious, misaligned, fearful and restless. Three There are things that we are doing that we know are not right for us, yet we persist in doing them. There is a clash of wills at play. The will of an obstinate "I" and the will of the essence in us. There we feel conflicted, uneasy and somewhat fearful. Four There are things that we are doing that are neutral but they do not have any inner depth or reality to them. There is little relevance to our inner world. There we feel interested but the interest quickly disappears. Five ...

The Divine Law Uses People with the Right Values - (6011)

When we have been asking the Divine Law for help or when we have merit or when we have been treated unfairly and undeservedly, the Divine Law looks for people who have the right values to help us and compensate us. Those with the right values in their heart are moved to help us without us even asking. We just need to wait for the Law to arrange circumstances and move the people with the values to help. End (6011).

Untenable Inequality Produces Generosity - (6010)

Just as when we know we are doing something that is incorrect or unbalanced, for example something unethical, there is something deep within that tells us we can't be doing this forever and one day we will get caught or have to face retribution.  Having a lot while others have very little produces the same feeling of fear from something that is untenable. It can't be for long that a small number of others have so much while the majority have so little. The constant experience of that fear because something is untenable always results in us giving, because it becomes more and more clear to us that the situation is out of balance and everything must always seek balance, and if we don't seek balance, balance will fall upon us the hard way. This may not happen in the world or in a society at large, becasue there is too much karma in the world, but within a family or on an individual level it certainly can. End (6010).

Masochism in the Character - (6007)

Typically we think masochism is for 'strange' and very unbalanced people. We also think that we are not all that strange... However, looking closely and subtly we find that there are levels and degrees of masochism lurking within us.  These degrees of masochism exist in fact in the average person's psyche. These elements were created after the fall or played an active part in our fall. Let's have a look. To be enduring suffering when we have the tools to dissolve it is a degree of masochism. To be standing there receiving an ear bashing for free beyond the point is masochism. To be involved in making useless sacrifices is masochism. To put ourselves through intense efforts for others who don't care or won't take advantage or reciprocate for their inner progress is masochism. Furthermore we take attitudes of repentance of which we don't have sufficient comprehension that become and act of masochism. Masochism is something in the end mechanical powered by fals...

Violence of the People is from Injustice - (6006)

When an issue goes on for too long without a solution, and when the effects of the issue being unresolved  increases in negativity - the sense of injustice builds. Human beings can't stand injustice for long. The build up of injustice unavoidably always turns to some kind of violence. There were some great individuals in history that taught humanity how to sensibly and peacefully give expression to the build-up of injustice. Which has been taken on by many these days with protest marches etc. that are loud but very often not physically violent. Most of the violence occurs in clashes with police trying to stop the march. That strong and automatic tendency to turn to violence is something to always know that it exists as a pathway within human beings, and it is something to watch out for. Whenever we see violence there is always some kind of injustice issue behind it. Or if apparently not, injustice is being made straight away with violence and that will be the cause for future viole...

Alert, Proactive and Timely Saves the Unexpected Storm - (6008)

It is just these three qualities that save us from the storm that hits us unexpectedly. If we are always on the look out for danger, and don't delay working on it as soon as we catch a glimpse of it, or even before it appears, we can diffuse the pending storm. When we are negligent and careless these strong psychological storms get unleashed wreaking havoc in our psyche and work. To diffuse them, resort to the volitional and conscious work as the power. Conscious and volitional or deliberate action, has great currency and merit. Much more than passively waiting... Being always on the look out, working straight away diverts the storm. The storm comes to show us that we are out of touch with the reality of ourselves and we have become complacent and negligent. The message of every storm is: "back to work". End (6008).
