Heart and Head
If a Gnostic group is a body, which one is the head and which
one is the heart? The instructor is the head and the members are the heart.
What does the head do? It speaks, sees, listens, tastes, formulates
plans, gives direction, generates ideas, contains knowledge, guides, directs
and leads.
Whereas the heart is the one that feels. If there is no
heart there is death. Without members there is no gnostic group. The heart
pumps blood which links each part of the body and so the people with their
yearnings, feedback and warmth is what is supplies the life.
Many times the instructor speaks and motivates, and the
members receive and ‘feel’ that motivation. The role of the members is to feel
and then to act. To feel the goodness or positivity of the guidance and then to
work based on that.
The group as the heart does always motivates the instructor
to give more and lead activities that will help the particular members and the
group as a whole.
It is the group that feels the lack, and yearns more as the
heart always does.
The result of the group’s help is the maintenance of the centre
which allows it to be open to receive new people so that they can receive the
light and overcome sufferings and pains.
End (2726).
