Not a Social Group but an Esoteric Group
Understanding that a Gnostic group is essentially an
esoteric group helps us very much so to understand why a Gnostic group is the
way it is.
It is certainly not a social group nor a charity group. It
is a group that helps each other esoterically.
This has to be well understood. Because if not we can become
very disappointed with a Gnostic group. We can not expect things from something
that it is not in its nature to provide. For example, we can not expect a cat
to bark at us. We will always get a meow!
So we can’t expect great friendship, financial support, comradery,
adventures, romantic love affairs, etc. because these things do not belong to the
esoteric nature of things.
Because it is esoteric many strange things happen that we
can’t explain.
Business in a Gnostic group always fails. An esoteric group
is to advance the spirit not the pockets. So, it always turns out that to give without
return payment is best.
Family member benefits or privileges in a Gnostic group fail.
In fact, it is only worthwhile to bring family members to Gnosis when they
really want to work on themselves. Sentimentalism and emotions do fly in
esotericism, what flies is justice, hard work, actions and merits.
We can see here that in esotericism different principles and
laws are at work, different principles and natures to those of a human social
group, and because a Gnostic group is an esoteric group, different laws,
natures and principles govern that group making it very different to what we
commonly know.
