After Retreat
In a long retreat all participants work intensely. More intensely
than what their day to day life allows. It is then natural that a repose
follows.
It is very good to know that this repose follows the Law of
Activity and Repose. IT is also very good to understand this law.
The ‘activity’ side of this law is easy to understand and is
often not confused. The ‘repose’ side though is often confused with meaning ‘no
activity at all’. This is not quite right, repose really means ‘lesser activity’.
Repose is Different to Cessation
Repose is different to a complete stop or a cessation of
activity.
During a repose that comes after intense efforts, one is
still working but in a different way. One is assimilating, digesting, absorbing,
understanding deeper etc. what one has just worked through.
End (2714).
