It may be difficult for a very intellectual person to approach mysticism as it is commonly presented in religions and esoteric schools.
Therefore if such a very intellectual person were to study science, specially that related to the body, such a person would really be awe struck with the intelligence at in the body and involved in its creation. Such a person if they sincerely studied the science of the body I believe they would fall into a sincere appreciation, awe and a recognition of something much greater than themselves and that is the base of mysticism.
Such a set of feelings and consciousness really would lead them naturally into love, appreciation, recognition and adoration of that great intelligent power that is behind life and its creation.
