In Humility is Dignity - (4103)

A good definition of dignity is that it is something that enhances the essence and therefore the Being in a person.

Dignity is very intimately linked to balance and the inner Law.

Within each human being there is their own inner Law. To uphold this law and keep to this law is to have dignity or to act with dignity.

If we don't obey or follow the wisdom or dictates or guidance of this inner law we end up transacting against our dignity and losing it or lowering it.

The inner law of each person is authored by the Being of each person and it is there as an expression of the Being's divine condition (hierarchy, experience, condition as a divinity) and level of consciousness.

The inner law is accessed and perceived using our level of being. The higher our level of being the more we can perceive it.

For example: to act below one's level of Being or one's standing as a human being always means to lose one's dignity.

Pride relates to dignity by managing dignity outside of oneself. Whereas humility manages dignity within oneself. By putting our dignity into relativity, making it more than yours or more important than yours.

Magnetism of the Sexual Centre - (4102)

One of the properties of the sexual centre is magnetism. It is very magnetic and the sexual energy is very electric.

It is a magnetic centre which produces a certain kind of gravity that attracts influences, qualities and it even attracts events and people.

That magnetic power can be cultivated...

Gnosis teaches that it is cultivated through retaining and transmuting the sexual energy.

This is so because when a person transmutes, the transmuted energy circulates through our body through the many circuits. This flow of energy creates a magnetic field. No flow of energy no magnetic field. Furthermore, this magnetism stays with the person and is constantly recharged with their transmutation.

The raw sexual energy has a magnetic power that emanates and is received by the physical-vital, and the transmuted sexual energy has a magnetic power that impresses more the higher centres such as the heart and the spiritual.

There are many kinds of attraction. There is the sexual attraction and then there is the spiritual attraction. Both work via magnetism functioning at their respective level or octave.

That magnetism can be used to consciously further magnetise a person with any practice, with a certain activity or with one's husband or wife.

That magnetic power is accompanied by vital heat and is linked to the vital energies and to the essence of the person.

In Alchemy the magnetic power is cultivated naturally as a foundation. However, Gnosis teaches that it can be cultivated without Alchemy where the couple bring their sexual centres close without sexually connecting them.

Master Samael says that if a man is impotent he should connect with his wife that way and doing over time his impotence will find its cure, due to the magnetic powers of the sexual centre.

Obviously the magnetic power cultivation has healing qualities as well as vitalising properties.

Apparent Unfariness of Serving - (4101)

The way we think about serving others is that it is somewhat degrading. Well, the thing that it is degrading to is our pride. With some separation from pride we can treat this topic.

All human work is a kind of service. All vocations are a service in one way or the other. Everyone's jobs serves a purpose and at the bottom of it, it is about providing some service to someone.

Serving others seems mostly unfair! That is really what we don't like about it!

But is it so unfair? Seeing that the Cosmic Christ is at the service of human beings, the masters and angels are there to serve human beings is it then really unfair? Is the Cosmic Christ a Being that co-operates with what is unfair? Or is it perhaps a part of life, a value that the movement of life is based upon, in order to maintain life and enrich life? There must be more to it than it being unfair.

The way of pride is to have others serve us while we forget about others, especially about the possibility of serving others. Pride is not so well prepared to serve others.

Serving others just seems so wrong, tedious, against us, boring and inhibiting. Plus we don't get anything out of it. Apparently.

This here is a very interesting point. We come to Gnosis to pay not to be exalted. One thing I have learnt in Gnosis is that the moments of exaltation are only that, they are so short lived, just moments, the real more consistent and constant experience is to be somewhat down, and having to pay and this makes sense as we are under justice and we have karma to pay.

It being unfair is also its major strength. Because through it we can pay our karma and we can develop the essence. Because the compensation or reward of service is mostly internal that is it pays karma or it develops some values of the essence.

We either serve our Being or the egos we have. One way or the other we are a servant, no matter who we are.

What more can we say if our own Being is a servant of It's Father - the absolute, serving Him in creation. Each Being has a function and role in creation - thus fulfilling a service.

Details and Events of our Life - (4100)

No doubt our own life is a living book of wisdom.

If we meditate on the events of our life and even the small details we can learn many things.

Our own life is a divine flow in motion. Nature expressing itself. It is even a divine Being, though conditioned and limited, expressing Itself physically.

If only we think deeply about the things that happen in our day, we can learn a few things. If only we meditate on the things that happen in our day.

Our life is a huge book of wisdom. If we can concentrate and look deeply into the things of our life we can read from that huge book.

I'm trying to do that and the effort makes a difference. It helps one to go inside and to look for depth and it also helps to give one more of an esoteric inner life.

It is a way to train ourselves to learn how to extract wisdom, learning and insight.

Humility Essential Value for the Path: Cultivating - (4095)

Lets see, there are some points always to reflect on when it comes to cultivating humility.

Pride is so worth us working on. As most likely our fall was due to it. Meaning it has marked our whole experience of life from that moment back then to now.

Classically the falls are sexual, but before that there was pride. A pride that deemed ourselves 'more' than the Being in us. That our desires etc. are 'more' than the Being in us.

Pride does that all the time, it sacrifices the good, the right, the correct for itself. That is it sacrifices those good things for our own personal interests, face (save face), position, standing etc.

Cultivating means to work two things in parallel. Dying in pride and living out humility.

Within pride is the majesty, dignity and sense of balance of the Being. So then if we exercise these values we will be cultivating humility.

Doing a study for ourselves of these values really helps to be able to apply them, and above all to know how to apply them correctly. Because not applying them correctly takes us back into the same pride.

Pride is so huge. It is in so many details. Big details and small details.

We know when it is pride, that is where we can start from. There are also so many times when we don't know that it is pride...

Pride is in attitudes, concepts, words, opinions, fantasy, justification, excuses, expressions, gestures, tones, strong words, arguments, right and wrong, no point trying to list them, just so many things it appears in.

We need for a little while to develop a pride focused self-observation so that we can better detect it, especially in the subtle details.

Generally we don't Like Humility - (4099)

We don't like humility because of the concepts we have about it.

Let's see our concepts then. It's an interesting exercise to review all of our concepts. This post in some way is a very short review of some common concepts.

The proof is that hardly anyone has read this post, typically posts on lust get 40 to 50 reads while these humility posts have gotten a third of that over the same time.

We see it as being submitted or having to submit to something that we don't like or want.

When we like something there is no feeling of submission. There is no feeling of having to be humble. When we don't like something then we feel the pain of having to be submitted. In this case the wise thing to do is to look deep into what we are submitted to and find goodness in it or value in it so as to like it more and more. If we can't then it is karma and we just have to pay it, that's all. It will end. Or just change it.

It seems that we are never going to be able to come out of that of being submitted, that we will be controlled forever and all our quality of life will be gone.

Karma can double us over, however karma has a start and an end, always. That is a karmic concept, when there is no karma or little karma there is freedom. That is freedom in the service. One can only really feel freedom in the service when one has love in their heart for others. The selfish people unfortunately deny themselves this kind of freedom, they are always trying their best to get rid of people to experience their freedom. A very narrow way to live. Totally dependent on circumstance forever, this life and the all the ones to come.

Anyway if it is karma we are paying and through paying we will be free.

We think it means to be a servant all of our life.

We think this because we want to be served all of our life. We in reality both serve and are served. To want only one is not balance. Life always tends to balance.

To our Being we are a servant here in terms of the physical world all of the time nearly. We are Its instrument, not the other way around.

To be humble is to not be appreciated. We just have to accept the second best.

We can't always be number one. But we can always make the Being number one to us. Even we can make others of high priority. That we can determine that we can control. Trying to control others to make us appreciated or number is an impossible task, one that if we try to achieve we will only set ourselves up for failure.

We Don't Have to Accept Any Strange Identities and Flavours - (4098)

We get identified with others and we adopt a certain subtle identity with them and to do with them. We do this with every group of people we are a part of. The more we like that group of people or the more attached we are the stronger identity we create.

We only really notice that we do this when we are with two opposites groups. Like when we are with our work colleagues at a work party and we then go to Gnosis class straight afterwards. At class we feel really odd, we feel that we shouldn't be at Gnosis and that we should be the engineer, the teacher, the analyst, the manager and not the Gnostic in class. This is all due to identification and the subsequent clash of identities.

When two groups are similar we don't feel such a clash or when we deeply identify with both groups going from one to another we don't feel this clash either. That is when we are naturally able to make a quick transition we are fine.

But identification is not the best thing, to be self-remembering is the much better thing. so we find that when we remember our Being we get closer to our real identity and we don't feel these kind of clashes because wherever we go we are the same person feeling the same and being the same and sticking with our the same identity, that which we experience in self-remembering.

If we intensely practice self-remembering denouncing all these false and troublesome identities and draw closer to the identity of the Being by affirming to ourselves based on our understanding that we belong to the Being and that the Being is our true identity we can really remedy those kind of clashes.

We think if we are not identified with others we won't love them, that's true but when we are in self-remembering we love them better, from our essence which is more natural, more conscious and more powerful in emanation and also more real.

How to Help the Being Fix Things for Us? - (4097)

I don't really have an answer to this question. I am only reflecting about it.

How can we help our Being? I think that there are things that we can do that help and then there are things that not doing them helps as well.

To accrue more karma will not help our Being. Karma is a delay, an obstacle, a problem to be solved and paid for which will only restrict our Being.

To increase our consciousness will help our Being. To be more awake. To free more essence, to cultivate more values will help our Being. As there is more space and facility for It to act in us.

To conduct ourselves in an upright manner in life will help our Being. To acquire capital and merit will help our Being.

To make the events of life more complicated and difficult won't help our Being as there is extra things that It has to solve and untie or undo.

To strengthen our egos won't help our Being. To lower our level of Being won't help our Being either.

To draw closer to our Being will help. To be more united will help. To express Its values will help as this strengthens Its powers and Its magical operation here in the physical.

To pay our karma seems to be the main one that keeps coming up as well as increase the presence of the Being in us is another one.

Humility Essential Value for the Path Posts: Benefits of - (4096)

Humility is the most beautiful thing. It confers inner beauty.

The will to be humble is the beauty of Tiphereth. The so called coveted inner beauty appears more and more, the more humility we have. The outside beauty counts for very little compared to inner beauty. In fact when the inner beauty of humility is lacking one has no other resort than to compensate with vanity concentrated on the exterior. Whether it be of the intellect, the body or anything else.

With humility we are closer to our human soul, as its maximum virtue is humility. The human soul is Tiphereth. When we have humility we can see the presence of humility and consequently the beauty in others.

How beautiful it is to see and deal with a humble person. How difficult it is to deal with a proud and arrogant person: all their coarse words, rough tones, sharp looks, reprimands, demands, tension, belittling etc.

Humility opens doors.

A humble person is one that can be trusted and so opportunities are given. A humble person is one that trusts in justice. A humble person does not exceed justice for personal gain or person desire. A humble person does not usually ask for more, and respects the limits of the situation, inspiring trust. New doors are always usually opened based on trust.

Humility bears the power of sacrifice.

When we look closely, we find that humility carries sacrifice. We find that there is much sacrifice or egotistical will. The humble person often sacrifices egoical will to do what is right and to not surpass certain limits.

Humility pays off karma consciously really well. In fact just to recognise that we have karma requires humility. To accept that we have karma requires even more humility.

Humility is naturalness.

Humility when genuine makes one relaxed and natural as there is no pressure from inside of oneself to be anything that one is not. with humility there are no pretenses. What we are, what we know, what we can do is what we offer in the moment and all are free to accept that or look to something else.

No one likes a proud and arrogant person. A humble person will not be neglected or left alone.

That speaks for itself who really likes an arrogant person. They are so full of themselves and are so selfish and don't like anyone. They only like others as long as others agree with them and do what they say.

The humble person has the right to express his or her reality and do what is right for him or her. Because to do things that are not right for the humble is to break humility.

A humble person will not bend backwards to please others, because the humble person is not really interested in egoical gains, that is not interested to be seen as more in front of others.

A humble person does not see him or herself as more than others. A humble person cares for the dignity of others and acts to respect it and in so doing brings dignity to itself.

No price to pay for humility but an exaltation later on based on merits.

A humble person is one that works and understands that everything has a price and hat we are no exception we are not above the law and we are no better than others that we can get things for free on a silver platter while others have to work for it.

Humility allows one to learn.

Of course, humility knows what we know and don't know. It doesn't assume that it knows everything or knows better than everyone else. A humble person can be taught.

Humility allows one to listen.

A proud person only listens to him or herself. A humble person is not so full of him or herself and knows what the ego is and knows not to listen too much to it because it is false. The humble person appreciates wisdom and knows that one does not know everything and knows one is not always right and knows that one often makes mistakes and knows one needs help...

Humility allows loyalty and with loyalty comes great things. Loyal to one's master brings in time all that one wished for.

With pride we are loyal to only ourselves. Humility makes space in us for other things that are not our egoic self. Such as space for the Being and space for others. This is loyalty. The opposite of loyalty is just going with our own interests and desires which always takes us with the better offer and to whoever is offering that.

The humble person acquires the backing of the Divine Law.

This is because the humble person is just and honest.

Humility opens the way for other values to be cultivated.

This is easy to see as humility creates more space within us for our Being. With there being more space the same Being in us will call for more of Its values to be cultivated.

Humility is not angry.

Pride is the one that gets angry. Humility instead links to patience and respect. Whereas pride links to and uses the opposite of patience and respect. It uses anger and jumps over various lines of respect.

Humility does not fall. Pride is the one that falls!

This is the biggest advantage of humility. As humility is not false and does not assume positions or places that are outside of a real supported structure it represents what is real and stable.

Pride sets one up nicely to fall, especially as it builds things on false bases. Pride leads one to many mistakes overstepping many lines.

yet to be completed…

Humility Essential Value for the Path: What is it? - (4094)

Introduction

What I am going to do in this post is to write what comes to me about what humility is. I'm not going to follow any order, just what surfaces.

Of course it is only for reflection, to sift through if you like, and think about or not what seems worthwhile.

Humility

Humility is a conscious state, it is know and understand in reality our place in the cosmos. Once we know our real place, humility is to think, feel and act in accordance with that.

If we do not have pride in our human machine we are humble.

Humility presents the facts but does not exaggerate nor underrate them.

To be humble is to not be more or less than what we are in our place. It is also to be in our place and not below or above it.

What is our place? So many things. But it is what we are as an essence, as a human being, it is not something cultural, but yet our place varies from scenario to scenario from scene to scene from environment to environment and from activity to activity. At work for example, we are not the boss or in the city streets we are not the Lord Mayor, unless we really are.

To be humble is to be in balance, that is - balanced in our place, as the above two sentences are alluding to.

When we don't know our place we act over and above it. To accept our place we need humility. To be humble is to see the reality of our place. It is not to dream believing in images of grandeur that we are bigger, more exalted, more deserving of a higher place, or unworthy of the place we have etc. etc.

We don't know our place because we don't see reality. To see reality is to come to see our place, and when we see our real place and we occupy it peacefully we are humble.

Knowing ourselves deeply makes us to see our own reality. Humility is the result of deep self-knowledge.

When we don't know ourselves and when we have not accepted ourselves they way we currently are with all of our short comings, limited capacities and faults we inevitably fall into images and beliefs of grandeur and greatness, which are of course all false, yet we believe in them.

To be humble is to be awake to reality in slowly increasing degrees. To not be humble is to be dreaming. Sleeping is believing in the unreal.

Master Samael says in the grand scheme of things we don't have much to be very proud of - thinking ourselves to be so great, when cosmically that is certainly not the case. He says that the planet earth is a but a speck of sand in the whole cosmos and we are even tremendously smaller and less important than that speck of sand.

Humility is really understood well when we take into account the interior Divinity. Because when we know we are an essence that has been derived from Its Being we know our place in front of our Inner Being. Our Being was before us and It is our origin and destination, we are here by virtue of It, It is the reason why we 'are'. It is certainly not the other way around. What is here on earth (where we are) is because of what is above in the heavens (where our Being is).

Humility sees that we are an essence and as an essence we are a vehicle of a great Monad. All the Monads are great by the way. I don't think we have enough experience to say our Monad is more or less than another's Monad.

Humility is also justice. Master Samael says that justice is the worst enemy of pride. Humility obeys justice. To be balanced and just means to give the right proportion to everything. Humility is capable of doing that, where as pride always gives itself the more or the less. If it gives itself the less it does so to be more.

Humility is something that allows us to escape relativity. Pride is well entrenched in relativity. Wining and losing are all in pride whereas winning or losing is something outside of humility's interests. Humility wishes to do our best, that is its absolute. Whereas pride does not have an absolute and it wishes for the best among others but this is always impossible, hence there is no real absolute of pride.

Humility understands that there are and always will be others above us and others below us on a ladder that stretches infinitely upwards and downwards. Where are we we don't know and we can't say either, all that matters is to continue. So humility continues quietly and undeterred, whereas pride stops, cries, gives up, rejoices, celebrates, wins and loses - dramas and more dramas.

There is false humility, which is pride trying to be more by pretending to be less or below. As it is pride in action behind false humility, false humility does not have genuine value, especially if done on purpose.

Humility knows that we are the same as others. It is does not have so many illusions. Whereas pride for believes that we are better than others, or have special rights above others all for some unjustified reason.

Humility is not a bubble, while vanity, pride, self-importance ae bubbles, bottles and being full of ourselves, where as humility is akin to a kind of emptiness. And in such emptiness there is space for the essence, for 'being' and even for the Being.

Humility is less self and more space for Being. That is why it has so much value!

To be humble before God implies so many things. Trust, faith, obedience, loyalty, recognition, acceptance, sacrifice of egotistical will, emptiness of self, more essence etc.

More to come...

Humility Essential Value for the Path Posts - (4092)

Absolutely no doubt we need humility for the path, even more than many other values.

Of course we need trust, hope and faith and the many other values such as patience, persistence, tenacity, yearning etc. However, humility especially in the begining is one that seems to be constantly needed in an all encompassing way, and it is also that which pays very handsomely by opening many doors for us.

Of course if we don't have transmutation as a value we are going nowhere on the path even if we are very humble. Anyway a real humility at some point would take us to transmutation. As we would recognise that we must handover within us the way we use our sexual energy to our inner Being, taking it from the hands of egoical interests that upon examination appear selfish, mistaken, mechanical - habitual, superficial etc. etc. offering it up to a higher principle of ourselves, which is what humility is most often about. More about that in later posts.

The main two values we really need are humility and transmutation.

I'm going to publish a few posts this week related to this theme of humility.

For sure its really important to have the right understanding of humility before we start cultivating it. For obvious reasons, being that if we know what humility is we can cultlivate humility and not something else.

The reality of this task is that we can only ever start with an idea of what humility is and as we go along we define, redefine, clarify, hone and refine through our experience and understanding that of what humility really is.

But we have to start somewhere with whatever we have. So in the next post I'll start by giving a list of points on what humility is. Well what I have heard and learnt in my limited experience of what humility is.

Tiny Technique to Get out of the Mind - (4093)

A true thing is that most of the time we have our consciousness in our mind. Very rarely are we in a state that we have our consciousness out of our mind.

When the above happens that is pure freedom, magic, light and so many things that we just don’t ordinarily experience.

We can have our consciousness activated but still have it in the mind. That's heaps better than when our consciousness is asleep but it still logically implies some kind of conditioning imposed on our consciousness by our mind.

Anyway what I wanted to post about is something a lot simpler.

There are some bothersome pesky states where our mind gets so active, for example when we think people are looking at us maybe judging us and we become self-conscious or awkward or restless, or when we get worried about what others are thinking about our gestures and facial expressions when we are talking to them, or we can't forget about ourselves and be natural around others, like when a photo is being taken etc. etc. we all know those bothersome internal states where the mind is just too active.

So the simple thing that works is to notice three or four  things in the environment or in yourself. Really noticing for real, not mechanically, three things in the outside environment works best at first. Really notice and be surpirsed by it and you will see that you are out of your mind. You activated the 'awe' aspect of your consciousness which displaces the mind.

Give it a try and see if it works for you. For me it works well.

Loneliness - (5248)

This was a post I wrote some time ago but didn't publish. It remained almost finished in the drafts section for all this time. As I'm now trying to declutter it's worth publishing just to get it out of the draft section.

Loneliness is an internal psychological state.

It is a state of lacking, a state where a certain void is felt.

It is an inferior state that as it grows it begins to eat a way at our sense of purpose in life. Things seem to lose their meaning or significance and things in our life seem less worthwhile than they did before.

Loneliness causes us to abandon things that would otherwise keep us company. A cause that we are fighting for keeps us company and feeling lonely is not to notice that the work for this cause keeps us company.

Some masters travel and spend a lot of time alone in the physical world. They are full of their Being and being full they have their inner company. They have their Being. They are fully connected and so they are not lonely. Through their Being is the connection to everything else, as the Being is connected to everything.

There is the root cause, our lack of making company with our inner Being.

So then, we begin to accept that we lack the company of our inner Being. The next step is to make our efforts to go to Her or Him.

We can go to our Divine Mother and find Her using our love and our prayer. Stay a while there with Her, making concerted inner efforts to be there with Her using will and imagination lots of heart felt prayer.

Self-compassion enjoys the mystique of loneliness, and enjoys its philosophical and lamenting flavour.

Lust does not like it and tries to solve it or at least take one's attention away from it.

Pride does not like to admit it and envy burns seeing the friends and company others have.

Is Gnosis Homophobic? - (4091)

This week I received this question from a lady right before I was about to give a talk.

"Is Gnosis homophobic?" was the question she blurted out. Way off track from what I was going to talk about, but well I said to myself I'm up for the challenge to answer that one.

I said no, because here in Gnosis we approach sexuality esoterically and scientifically, not morally.

I said that Gnosis says the two forces represented by man and woman are the ones that can engender a type of creation that has reality on its own side. As Gnosis is interested in an inner creation, those two forces are needed to be worked with. Two men or two women are not able by the laws put in place by the cosmos to engender an inner creation such as what a man and woman together can engender. That's all.

I said the moral question of it, whether it is morally right or morally wrong, we don't get involved in. If we don't see something wrong or right then why would we be scared of it or scandalized by it or think anyone who is homosexual is lost etc. etc.

As soon as we approach sexuality morally we get into difficulty with the many other views. Moral views are often subjective and changeable and one finds that is not worth getting too deeply into a discussion about them, as one never leaves such conversations with anything clear other than that it was a waste of time. People get angry and everyone still thinks the same and then what?

End (4091).

Worrying About what People Think - (4068)

When we are worried about what people think about us, it is a sign that our pride is alive.

That statement which comes from Master Samael is a bit puzzling at first I found. Putting aside my confusion, it means that pride is the one that worries about what others think of us, so if we work on pride we will worry less and less about what others think of us. That's the key - work on pride.

This affects so many of us and so many of us don't have this key - to work on pride.

The real issue of this, is what we do in our mind with the thought that 'others are thinking negatively about us', or 'will think negatively about us'. If we just have the thought and forgot it there would be no problem inside of us. But that does not happen we have problems.

We are never worried about people thinking positively about us. This does not cause problems for us.

We may infer in our mind that if others think negatively about us, then we are less than valid. We are wrong, we may think that we are not up to scratch as a whole person, we may think that we are useless, we may think that we are unworthy etc. etc. All sorts of intensely emotionally felt statements such as these take up residence in our human machine.

Our pride really can't stand such thoughts and does not want to think and feel these things and that is quite fine, we don't have to think or feel those thoughts. However, the ego of self-compassion really likes to think these thoughts because it's job is to make us wallow in pain. So we inevitably end up thinking and feeling those things.

Also our pride does not want to transform such thoughts or feelings it would rather run from or fight those who send us impressions that have made us think or feel that way. So we end up in the hands of an angry self-compassion, that expresses itself being angry at ourselves, shooting ourselves in the foot talking negatively bout ourselves in front of others etc.

I want to say that all of those statements that the mind infers are truly false. Well it doesn't matter what I say or anyone else says but it matters what we say inside of ourselves in front of those statements that our own mind brings up. As a whole person I can not be less than valid, nor can I be useless, nor can I be unworthy, nor can I be a wrong creation etc. etc. When we really think hard about that we come to the conclusion that our own mind is wrong to think that.

We may have an aspect that is wrong or lacking or needs correcting like all of us under the sun do, it's just a matter of us getting up and fighting inside of ourselves to correct it. We all have had to do this and all of us will have to do this an infinite number of times in the future. No big deal!

End (4068).

To Separate Things in Life is a Necessary Skill - (4090)

A necessary skill in life is to know how to separate things. Especially when it comes to people.

We have to apply separation all the time really. If we don't separate we can fail at whatever it is. I think even being able to separate is a sign of maturity - a sign that a person has much experience in life and in the workings of human nature.

For example, with co-workers we have to separate their beliefs from ours and see them as a co-worker, as a professional with many learned and useful skills. Separate from our mind what they believe in and how they worship etc. and relate to the professional side of them without our feelings or appreciation for them being affected.

We mainly have to separate things when we have a problem. Say I have a problem with someone's beliefs then when I deal with that person I have to separate from that so that my thoughts about them are kept positive or at least neutral.

We need to apply separation when we make a psychological error of seeing one aspect of the person as the whole person.

A person may give a talk and we know that he or she does not know from direct experience what they are talking about, so we get disappointed and we stop listening. If we are intelligent we will separate, the talk from the person giving the talk. The information that they are presenting if they are repeating the teachings is not wrong. So then it becomes more important for us to then make conscious what the talk is about and forget about the experience of the speaker. If we did not separate we would not learn anything.

Separation leads us to learn something. Because it allows us distance through which light can enter and then we can see and then we can learn.

We also need to separate from all kinds of sensations and emotions. So as to not allow those sensations and emotions to affect our psychology.

Keys for Life Taught by Our Centres - (4072)

Introduction

This post is a short list of some very important keys relating to the centres of the human machine. If we live by these keys we can be sure to enjoy life and live it much more consciously.

Once again these are not my keys, they are keys that Gnosis gives to us. I'm just presenting them and trying to apply them in my limited capacity.

One - Align the Centres

Our centres are in constant conflict. Mind and emotion often disagree. Often the disagreement between centres produces contradictions, which is unpleasant.

Inner battles and contradictions only bring unhappiness. The key to be happy is to bring all of our centres into agreement.

We are the weakest when our centres are in disagreement. Our health suffers dearly in such a state.

We are the strongest when our centres are aligned, that is all in agreement.

Two - A Bit from Each Centre

Seeing or taking life with just one centre is never correct. The more complete and truest appreciation of any event of life comes from seeing the event from the angles of all of our centres.

So to obtain the balanced view of any event, bring the thinking that each centre offers into your awareness. Because indeed, each centre has its language and its particular kind of thinking. Each centre thinks and sees things from its own angle. From an intellectual angle, from an emotional angle, from a doing angle etc. etc.

If we are overly emotional in an event, we can always be sure we are not taking the event or seeing the event correctly. This is true 100% of the time.

Three - Emotional Centre

This centre is the seat of our balance. It often defeats the other centres. What is in the emotional centre always comes down into action. If we convince our emotional centre we will act accordingly. It is the middle man between thought and action and often in business deals we know the middle man is the one that does the best.

If we keep our emotional centre present and interested we can sustain the work for any cause for as long as we like. The emotional centre allows us to penetrate into anything we study. It expresses inspiration and enthusiasm. It is also a lot like fire.

Four - Balance

When there is balance there is happiness, pain is absent. so when our centres are balanced we will feel contentment.

Balance occurs when there is participation of all three brains. Things flow through all of them, that is they do not get stuck in just one or two brains.

Like for example, in a friendship, for it to be of a good quality there must be friendship or compatibility or concordance in the intellect, emotional and action.

Five - Conserve and Equalise

To be healthy and happy we must conserve the energies of the centres. To do this employ a cycle. Some intellect, then some emotion, then some motor. Not spending too much time using each centre.

One centre often becomes a crutch for us. We tend to rely on one centre more than any other.

When we abuse a centre it aches, like a head ache, and doing this often begins to deplete the energies of this centre earlier than need be.

Six - Sphere of Action

Each centre has its limits, uses and benefits. Know them and use them where most fitting. Don't just use one centre all the time. Or don't use the wrong centre for the event. The right centre will balance the event.

For example another person has out of control emotions then use your intellectual centre to see to analyse or your motor centre to fix, arrange, produce a solution.

Human Machine Notes - (4089)

Introduction

Here are some notes for the human machine lecture.

Notes

Our body is an instrument. When we really think about it, it is a marvelous instrument. It is a temple. It is a house. It is a synthesis of the principles and laws of the cosmos. It is a mini universe. Even though so much is yet to know about it, it still remains at large a mystery. Giving us some validation that it indeed is the depository of some vast almost infinite amount of knowledge.

Gnosis is interested in the development of the essence. Not so in much developing the body. It is paramount though to keep the body healthy and functioning well at all times.

For the work on ourselves we need a healthy mind and body. Sometimes before we can really do any kind of spiritual work it is important to get healthy physically and mentally first before anything else.

What interests us the most are the centres of the body. Because they are the bridges that link our body to our psychology.

Gnosis is interested in the development of the essence. The centres of the body link the body to the essence. So by knowing the centres we get to know our essence.

Also knowing our centres we know our life. Because our life, is experienced through the centres. We can't experience life in a way that goes outside of the centres. Well only as essence separated from the centres.

In fact, our essence manifests through our centres.

All the centres are in each centre. Each centre contains a small version of the other centres.

The centers are our life. Our life unfolds as a function of our centres.

If we know our centres we know much about our life. We know about how we function. We know our limitations, our capabilities, and we know how to be conscious in life.

The way the centres work is in such an order: Thinking, feeling and acting. This is an immutable law of the human machine. Never is it bypassed.

There are five ways of thinking available to us. One way of thinking for each centre. Therefore we may see an event in five different ways. That also explains in part why people see events differently. Because each person sees an event using a different combination of their centres.

The three brains are something very esoteric. A brain is a esoteric term meaning a kind of receptacle where the three forces of the cosmos are received. The three primary forces that is.

Animals have two brains or one brain.  Because we have three brains we can basically create. We can modify our life and our destiny. we can create a new life and destiny for ourselves. All because we have the three forces within us. Which is a representation of the Law of Three, which always creates. No tiger, lion, shark or whale can create a new destiny for itself or become anything else than what it is. For that it must wait to acquire a human body.

Each centre has its orbit. Its sphere of action. When we are conscious we know the extent of each sphere. When we know the extent of each sphere we know where one centre's action should end and another one should start.

The view from one centre only is never the correct one. If we view the event from all the centres we get the right view of the event and life.

Things are only real when we go through all the centres. When all three brains are engaged. When there is thinking, feeling and acting. If there is just thinking things are not complete or fully actualised or realised.

Things are only real when they reach the three brains.

The brains are often in conflict. The key to life in terms of the centres is to unify them. To align them.

Another key to life in terms of the centres is give to life a proportion of each centre. Any event of life is only appreciated in the fullest or in the most correct way when we see it and consciously take something from it with the three brains.

For example any teaching is useless unless we accept it in all three brains which culminates in applying it. Bringing it down into the motor centre. The motor centre is life.

For relationships, the best is when there is compatibility or relation in all three brains. That is why adultery exists, because a man may like his wife in two centres but sexually him and his wife are not compatible and so he looks for another woman with whom his sexual centre finds compatibility with.

The emotional centre is another significant key for life. All the balance resides in the emotional centre. If we know how to use our emotional centre we can get anything done. If we know how to put our emotional centre into things we can maintain, sustain, invigorate and improve any situation, activity and the state of affairs within us. What we feel we do.

Each centre has its different speed. With the sexual centre being the fastest and the intellect being the slowest.

The key of changing centres is totally simple but so effective. If we have one centre out of control, that is, it is so agitated then we need to engage intensely another centre so as to displace the prominence of that agitated centre. When we do that the agitated centre will step back causing the very out of control and agitated state to subside returning to us our normal self, where we can then think and move towards  a solution or resolution.

Living Day by Day Helps Us and Teaches us Trust - (4088)

Our common condition as human beings here on the Earth is that our mind makes the experience of our life really hard.

Our mind projects so many scary things... things that worry us, things that make us frown...

When our mind looks into the future it tends only to see difficulties, and those difficulties make us feel unwell. We feel nervous, anxious and the 'impossible' type of feeling comes over us. We think we won't be able to deal with it or it will so be hard.

The thing is, we really feel and believe that the future will be so difficult...

We are advised to forget about the future and live day to day, and so we do that for a while, handling each day as it comes.

Seeing that we can handle each as day, we start to believe that our mind is the one that is not quite right. We have made it through each day so far, and we are fine, despite what our mind has been telling us.

We start to believe that our mind's projections are the ones that are causing us the trouble, not the future or the day.

Slowly glimpsing this, that our mind is the troublemaker we start to see that a didactic is in place, a certain flow, that our mind does not know about, and that flow has not really harmed us so far. So then a bit of trust in life, in that flow, in the author of that flow begins to grow. We see that we can trust in life, in the Being, in the Divine Law (authors of the flow) a bit more, because we know that that flow and the author of that flow, are not going to harm us.

We can relax a little more, knowing that our mind is not quite right. What it says is not how things will be...

Approaching the Divine Mother while Looking in the Mirror - (4087)

Master Samael says when we think we are going bad we are actually going well and when we think we are going well we are in reality not going well.

Obviously when we are getting to really know ourselves we are likely to come across some disappointment. Hence we may think that we are not doing too well. However, the principle still applies that the more we know ourselves the better we are developing...

The more we know ourselves the greater the potential there is to change, to repent, to improve, to fix, to correct etc. etc. Not knowing ourselves closes of these possibilities.

When we look at ourselves in the mirror of retrospection, it is really good to take ourselves close to our Divine Mother.

This is so that the Divine Mother helps us to see what is important and helps us to see correctly in the right light of things.

With retrospection, we can see our actions, we can also see what was behind them, and we can also see their significance and their consequence.

In that mirror of retrospection we can see what we overlooked, what we forgot, what we ignored, what we did well, what we didn't do well, what is real, what is ego, what needs work, where erroneous thinking was and is still going etc. etc.

Values of the Essence: Post 5 - (4086)

What matters most with this topic is to rescue the values of our essence from their conditioning.

To do that we have to know their conditioning. Knowing their conditioning means to know how that conditioning functions.

It is also very good to know what happened within us that has caused this conditioning to function this way. This information will make our understanding complete. However, just knowing how the conditioning functions is enough to be able to do some real serious work on it.

Here are the basic steps:

1.) Accept the teaching that the ego is a value of our essence that is conditioned and that conditioning has a purpose, a reason for being, and it seeks a prize, a result, a reward etc. We understand that reward as compensation.

2.) Know the conditioning by lots of careful observation.

3.) From knowing the conditioning find the value, that is conditioned.

4.) See the duality and relativity conditioning of the value. See how it is conditioned to compensate externally.

5.) Reverse the conditioning going back inside to find our essence and go through the essence/Being to compensate. This new inner way that reverse the conditioning replaces the ego's method of compensation.

6.) Repeat this hundreds of times to really learn that the ego's way can be replaced by another way which is the way of the essence, which is much more of everything that the ego's way is not.

Values of Essence: Post 4 - (4085)

How do the values function? Either naturally or freely or in a conditioned way.

The conditioned way in which they function is via the conditioning of relativity and duality.

The values function in a conditioned way because of the occult need for compensation.

Due to the conditioning of duality, the values flip to the opposite, that is to the defect, and the defect often functions by compensating externally.

Due to the conditioning of relativity the value gets tied to a particular reference point. Then the duality conditioning flips the value to the defect and the defect works according to that reference point.

Example: to have love for our Being and our essence is the right thing, it is a value. However, we have that love conditioned in relativity and duality. We love ourselves as a person more than our Being. That is we love more the external side of ourselves than the internal. Then we love ourselves through others. That is others become our reference points to love ourselves. Where we place more value on others say than on what we we say to ourselves. If they say nice things we can love ourselves and if they say bad things we can't love ourselves.

Values of Essence: Post 3 - (4084)

This post is about the value of an essence as remedy to an ego or negative state of consciousness.

We are the consciousness or intelligence that uses the values of the essence to remedy a negative state produced by an ego.

We are both the values of the essence and the consciousness that uses those values. This is important to know this. Because knowing this we can use consciously the values of our essence.

Each of the values above, maybe not all of them, as some I think from the Gnostic point of view don't seem to be values of the essence but anyway, those values if used wisely can displace many negative states.

We have all of those values and more in our free essence already. So we have access to them. We increase our access to them when we study each virtue and we know through such a study what negative state they are expert in displacing.

Subsequent posts will give a list of negative states and their remedy value.

End (4084).

Values of the Essence: Post 2 - (4083)

Are we the values of our essence or that intelligence or consciousness that uses those values.

In each value there are so many other values. For example, in humility there is trust, there is respect, there is patience, there is serenity, there is balance, there is love etc.

The one is in all and the all is in one... All the values of the essence are in one particle of essence and one value is in all the values.

There are particles of our essence that are defined to express a value. However, those particles contain many other values in a lesser way of course.

Many particles of justice, dignity, and majesty are conditioned by pride. Because they are conditioned, we don't how to process the value of justice within us. Because those values that should process justice within us and allow us to act and speak fairly are conditioned, bottled up inaccessible to us.

Yet the free particles of essence do contain justice and because of that we can even having such a huge pride we can learn about justice and apply justice.

The application of justice helps the essence that is bottled up in pride to see that its conditioning in relativity and duality is a conditioning that makes to suffer. So we go ahead and do something, we go to work on that ego of pride.

We need a bit of elastic thinking here as to how the values in our essence work.

End (4083).

Values of the Essence: Post 1 - (4082)

Each essence is a vast ensemble of values. By values I mean qualities, virtues, attributes, abilities etc.

There are so many values. Some of which we know, some which are so common, some of which are very uncommon and some of which we have no idea of...

What's really good to do one day, is a kind of inner inventory of what we have and what we lack. In doing this we are looking at our values.

What we value is what is important to us and it is what strive to manifest in life and also protect. Our values are our principles, they are almost a person's inner and personal set of laws.

Each of us have our different degree and quantity of values. The values that we all have form a distributed spectrum that as a sum is complete.

Thank goodness for the distributed spectrum of values, because as all of us lack one or another value we can always find someone who has that value and can teach us that value.

Each value is found by its opposite. If we lack a value it is because we have that value conditioned into the opposite where it is called a defect. Working on that ego that has the opposite conditioned particles of essence that express that lacking value, we acquire the value.

Next post will be about the essence and the values.

Values of the Essence - Series of Posts - (4081)

Going to focus this week in presenting a series of posts to do with the values in our essence. Seeing this theme as practically as possible from the psychological and esoteric work point of view.

Most Important Thing in Spiritual Development - (3941)

We were reading a transcription of a informal talk that Master Samael gave.

In that talk he says that the most important thing for spiritual development is: TO KNOW YOURSELF!

There we have it. We really have to get to know ourselves as well and as deeply as possible.

He basically says that everything hinges on how well we know ourselves. This is result of psychological and ontological work.

How well we truly know ourselves is connected to our true level of the Being. Know ourselves better to raise our level of Being.

End (3941).

Conscious Relaxation - (3862)

Conscious relaxation is something very useful.

Breathing plays a most important role in relaxing consciously. Belly breathing does wonders or long slow deep breaths which activate the parasympathetic nervous system.

When we relax consciously we can see that there are so many reactions that we produce that are just not necessary.

We also see that there are ways of thinking, feeling and acting that we don't need and we can change.

Conscious relaxation is something physical and psychological. A relaxation of teh physical body as well as a relaxation of our mind and emotion.

To be in a conscious inert relaxed state before any harsh impression helps us immensely.

It helps us in being able to observe the psychological process that unfolds through to our centres. The relaxation also gives us something of a handle over our centres, as in we can control our centres, delaying the time it takes for them to become agitated and taken over by the ego especially if the ego manifests strongly and persistently.

Conscious relaxation ios a powerful ally for our practices of awakening and a very powerful weapon to employ when working on egos such as anger, annoyance, impatience, fear, lust, intolerance, frustration, hurrying etc. etc.

The Abyss is the Abyss Who Cares Just Get Out - (4080)

First we shouldn't deceive ourselves and think we are not in our abyss often or that we don't dip into our abyss during the day and night. We certainly do, no matter what initiations you have.

No matter how we have gotten there it is best just to get out and return to the light. Just get out.

Mental activity, associations, conversations etc. all can get us into our abyss.

When we honestly feel that the light is much better than the abyss no matter what got us there, and when we don't find comfort being in the abyss we are ready to honestly try and climb out of it.
