Free Yourself for a Discipline - (5858)

We sometimes think discipline is not freedom and the two are not related. That's not fully correct. To follow a discipline requires freedom and delivers you freedom. Freedom and dicipline are seeminlgy opposites but they are deeply related. So related in fact, that one can not exist without the other. They form something like a living paradox, like a living ying yang symbol. If we are following a discipline, think of the freedom it exercises to follow it and the freedom it gives. As the desire for freedom is the one of the greatest motivating factors for all human beings, this feeling of freedom will maintain us in that discipline. To follow a discipline we have to be free. We must free up time, space, inner space, mental excuses, justifications, desires and break dependencies and focus on ourselves. To follow a discipline is for those who are free! That is why so many don't follow one and give up so easily because they are not free enough inside and out to take it up and keep ...

Work In Progress - Learning - Resonates Better - (5856)

Truly in this creation the most realistic thing is that we are all learning and we are all a work in progress. It's truly helpful to see ourselves that way. There are truly very few absolutes...or finalised works. Even there are seven stones, where one is a more polished version of the other... each stone is a work in progress.  With this point of view or new attitude we were not or are not fully right or wrong. We were and are learning! We will always be learning! This does not mean that we don't correct our errors. We do, that is what learning is. It also does not mean that we don't say we got it wrong and we made a msitake. We can acknowledge and express that we made mistakes, it menas that we do not identify with being wrong or right. We instead adopt the 'state of learning openess' as a way of being rather than being wrong or right as a way of being. We truly suffer when we identify with being wrong or right. We think the goal is to be right, but not really it ...

The Collector "I" - (5855)

After some observation of ourselves and others, a certain characteristic which really does seem to be  brought to life and sustained  by an "I", starts to come clear. A bit like how, the wind blowing the sands of teh desert over time reveals what was hidden underneath the surface. Human beings tend to like collecting a certain thing. It could be pens, books, computers, coins, guns, knives, cards, figurines, clothes etc. Really one or two items in the collection is all that's needed. In fact most of the time it's only one or two of the items out of ten in the collection that gets used. There's always a reason to get another item to add to the collection. The reasons never seem to stop coming... The reasons are good in principle, but in reality never quite work out. For example, we get a version of the item that is good for night-time use, but it turns out we never use that item at night, but then the 'just incase...' reason appears. It is very difficult to ...

Criticality is From Lack of Transformation - (5852)

The cause of someone being critical or very judgemental is a lack of transformation of impressions. The more we can transform impressions the less we criticise. The judgement which causes criticism comes after the impressions have been received. When we know the benefit of transforming impressions over judging and criticism we definitely change. We become different.  The core of this change is to appreciate the joy of being free from the pull within ourselves to judge. There is a kind of ill tainted pleasure to judge. That pleasure as most pleasure does, stagnates us, and a stale flavour/taste develops within us. We can flush this stale taste out of ourselves with good will. Though before we can use the currents of good will and well wishing and hoping to we need to be able to pull ourselves away from judgement. To not judge leads to transcendence. End (5852).

Extraction of Events - (5851)

Here are some notes about extracting the best from events. Maybe a 'bad' instructor is the best one. Because a 'bad' instuctor gives us a lot of work to do with our consciousness.  There will be some impressions to transform, some gaps to fill, to questions to ask, some confusion to work through and some knoweldge to assimilate. Our consciousness is the one that can extract the best from what the event has to offer. If we don't use our consciousness in an event or even after the event we simply won't be able to extract any wisdom or learning from the event. We will just repeat to ourselves what our mind classified. Which always boils down to a 'good' or 'bad' event and we left with the impression we got, which is usually an untransformed impression. Extraction is about doing some work with our consciousness. It doesn't come by itself. Our conscious and willing effort to extract something makes us attending the event worthwhile. End (5851).

The Lone Christmas Caroller - (5853)

There is something special about the lone caroller (person singing or playing Christmas carols). Even in the most classically un-Christmas place in say outback Australia. The carols sung alone amidst the quiet background of stores closing and people heading home reminds us of that special silence that is mystical. Like the "silent night, holy night..." which is that awaiting and hope that that happens in that inner silence. Waiting and hoping that our Intimate Christ will come one day to us to help us... End (5853).

Conscious Love for the Self Solves Many Inner Issues - (5837)

There are beautiful teachings about how trust helps us to remedy so many issues and dissolve many egos. Not too much has been spoken about love in this way. What egos and issues can love help us to solve. The common answer would be all of them, yet we can be more specific. Loving ourselves consciously, that is voluntarily giving ourselves love, where we lack it, helps us greatly to dissolve many egos. Many egos actually are lacks of love, or gaps in consciously loving ourselves. Egos such as anger, lust, resentment, self-love, self-compassion, laziness as the ones that specifically can be dissolved by applying conscious love to ourselves. The way to apply conscious love to oursleves must be done correctly. It is done right by applying love internally to ourselves. That is through a kind of prayer/self-talk and filling our inner space with that love. The love we apply internally does manifest physically. The way it manifests is mostly in the way of not reacting in a way that is detrimne...

Evil Hides Behind Virtue - (5850)

This is a modus operandi of what we could call evil, that is evil hides behind virtue.  I have noticed within myself many times and at large in others, that evil - which we could call falsehood, ill-intent, foulplay etc. until discovered, all have the face of some kind of virtue. The worst evil I have done, has always been this way - hiding behind some virtue... It is often what happens with that expression: "the path to hell is paved with good intentions".  At the begining, that is all one sees - virtues. Later on the falsness or ill-intent show up.  In others we may see this, but not is not our concern or for us to care about. At the most see it and protect ourselves from it. What is greatly our concern is this happening inside of ourselves. This is the main and greatest self-deception that we fall under: doing something evil (inconvenient for ourselves and others) hiding it behind a good reason or apparent virtue. End (5850).

Listening Like Glass - (5849)

After walking like glass it is to listen like glass. This is more difficult. The same principles apply though. A see-through self-image and presence while being like teflon with what we hear and are told. The key is to not allow anything that we hear hook onto our interior.  This is really hard, though just doing it will help us to see very clearly what vested interests we have, how intensley what we hear and are told want to bight the bait so to speak. End (5849).

Remembering the Being Before Money Issues - (5845)

In many ways, the processes we pass through are to teach us to put the remembering of the Being before and above our life circumstances. There are many triumphs we are called to participate in, in the work on ourselves. The work on ourselves is really to produce a series of victories where the remembering of the Being within us triumphs over different events and circumstances. All this takes time and has its process and is done area by area. Sometimes it is done globally across all the areas of our life. When we forget the Inner Being we often become desperate and our hope, faith and trust decreases causing us to become pessimistic and heavy. A big and definite are of life is finances and our relationship to money and all the circumstances that branch out from it. After a long or short process, depending on the individual, something new and beautifully different can emerge in a person in relation to money and life circumstances. Many people, forget the Inner Being when seeing that thei...

Walk Like Glass - (5848)

When trying ot be conscious when walking or being amongst people, a really great exercise is to be like glass, transparent and almost invisible. That is, to be psychologically like teflon where things don't stick.  This is not easy... There are many things in our psyche that want to be seen. That is why it is such a good exercise of knowing ourselvs and being conscious. In the magical sense it would be much more possible to be physically like glass if we are psychologically like glass. A good key to be psychologically like glass is to walk around with no self-image. That is with no projection of our self within ourselves. That's the main part of teh exercise.  Some other points to work on while doing the exercise are the following: To let go of any incomming impressions, to be pure in our gaze - that is no subconscious interest in what or who we see in front of us and let go of all that we see. To not allow anything to hook our attention or any ego to pop up. To move without l...

Two-Foldness of the Will of the Being - (5847)

There is really two aspects to the will of our Being. Those two aspects are the always mentioned masculine and feminine or active and passive. Which we always have to combine and balance to create and march forward. If we are unbalanced in anything we are missing something vision of the full picture and later on in time we will most likely fall into a degree of imbalance which could us to stumble. We must know these aspects of the will of the our Being. Becasue once we knbow them we can combine them intelligently for the best results. The two parts are the passive and the active expressions which can be summarised as no-reaction and aligned action. The passive is to not react, to instead 'be'. The will of the Being is alwys to be Itself. It can't be otherwise... The will of the Being is 'to be'. So in life's situations the passive will of the Being is 'to be'. That is to act and process our responses with the values or qualities of the Inner Being. The p...

The More Special the More Injustice - (5846)

The more special or chosen we feel ourselves to be, the more injustice we will do in our reactions to defend ourselves. The greater the pride the greater the injustice that will follow. End (5846).

Don't Allow Judgment to Become General - (5844)

Too late we can make a judgement, for example: "that man is grumpy.". Certainly he for a few seconds or so was grumpy. What he said and the way he said it can be qualitifed as grumpy.  The mistake often is that we then attribute 'grumpy' to the whole person. Which is not true. He may have a wife and children, so he is a husband and a father, not a 'grumpy man', in reality he is many things, and for sure he wouldn't be grumpy every moment of his life  When judgements are made, we can't unmake them, but what we can do is to bring our consciousness to put things into persepctive and to look within, using the judgement as a mirror to better know ourselves. End (5844).

We Have a Relative Degree of Everything - (5843)

We think we have some quality and one group of others may think we don't, while another group may say we have a lot of it. In the end we have a relative degree of it.  We are not full and perfect in any quality and further more everyone will see that quality in us differently. Some will see it as inferior, and some as superior and some won't even see it... When we see that we are all relative, things losen up and our mind about ourselves and others opens. Becomming more flexible and understanding. What is always the case, is that when we are immersed in relativity we natually look to find an absolute. Which in this context means to look inside of ourselves to find the Absolute about ourselves which is found in our Inner Being. Well, even then Master Samael says we will find relativity there too, but at least it is much closer to the Absolute.  End (5843).

Dharma and Karma in Countries - (5840)

Psychological Atmosphere The dharmic or karmic environment of a country really helps us to learn different qualities.  Each country has a certain psychological environment, which is largely determined by the dhamric/karmic character of the country. Within that psychological environment are many opportunities to develop qualities which maybe new for us. That is why we often have to remove ourselves from different environments and enter new ones to develop certain qualities. We actually all do these often in life through different scenarios and circumstances, through different people and events. Different Countries As far as countries go, living in a different country allows us to see better the psychological environment of the new country and better understand the psychological atmosphere of the old country. In South Africa, the psychological atmosphere is such that one can learn much about balance through several different areas and levels.  Some of those areas are: equality o...

Seeing Money as Energy Causes an Octave of Awakening and Change - (5838)

Interestingly money is really energy. As soon as we see it that way many things can change within us and within our life. Money is energy and energy can also be seen as merit. How do we all earn what we call money? By working, and what is working? It is really the use of our attention, energy, time and knowledge. Our knowledge is the result of having used our time, attention and time. It all comes back to energy. As soon as we see money as energy we see that money will then obey the same laws as energy. These laws are: energy can not be lost, energy can be transformed into other forms of energy, energy and matter are interchangebable and energy can be both stored and exchanged. If we think a little, we will see that is exactly what can be done with money. We can save money, spend it and convert it to so many things.  The thing we are all worried about though is losing money. But money can not really be lost because it is energy and energy is never lost. It may look as though it has...

When we Meditate the Spiritual Beings of the Invisible Visit Us - (5842)

When we meditate is when teh masters come to visit us and stay withus for a while. The more we can mediate teh more they will come and help us. This makes sense, because when we meditate, we are the most open and receptive to their help, which mostly comes in the way of radiations from their presence, that enter us, and internally heal us. End (5842).

Protect Joy - (5841)

To protect the joy we have in our life is really more important than we think. We only really realise how important it is when we lose it.  The common expreience we all go through when we lose it, is that our life become bitter and we start to lose meaning and purpose. We all have certain things that bring us joy, whatever they may be. These things we have to know and keep.  The thing we can do with joy, is to keep it or to transform it or sublimate it if we find that a sublimated version of joy will serve our spiritual development more. The main thing is that we have to have joy in our life, in at least one area of our life.  Of course the more areas of our life have joy in them the better. This is a secret to maintian ourselves in Gnosis. Bring joy for some aspect of Gnosis and protect it, expand it and enjoy it. We can't ever allow the study of Gnosis to become bitter. It becomes just too hard to sustain.  In summary, know your joy, your happy place, protect it, s...

Start to Walk into the Unknown - (5839)

The start to walk into the unknown believe it or not is to walk into the possibility of us being mistaken. That is holding mistaken beliefs, concepts and points of view. If we take any situation no matter how small, and we decide to look into possibility of us being mistaken, that is us walking into the unknown. We are 'righ't about everything, this we know but we don't know that we are wrong. End (5839).
