Here are some notes about extracting the best from events.
Maybe a 'bad' instructor is the best one. Because a 'bad' instuctor gives us a lot of work to do with our consciousness.
There will be some impressions to transform, some gaps to fill, to questions to ask, some confusion to work through and some knoweldge to assimilate.
Our consciousness is the one that can extract the best from what the event has to offer.
If we don't use our consciousness in an event or even after the event we simply won't be able to extract any wisdom or learning from the event. We will just repeat to ourselves what our mind classified. Which always boils down to a 'good' or 'bad' event and we left with the impression we got, which is usually an untransformed impression.
Extraction is about doing some work with our consciousness. It doesn't come by itself. Our conscious and willing effort to extract something makes us attending the event worthwhile.
