This is the general process here of change. 'A' times 4, the four "A's".
First acknowledge there is a change that can be made, then accept the change, take steps to change and change in actions and finally integrate the change into our way of being.
Steps 3 and 4 happen quickly. As soon as the steps to change are being taken the action to change happens and with some subsequent changes the change begins to integrate all fairly naturally and quickly. This is because the foundation for change have previously occurred.
Step 1 can take time and it can not. Many people are able to see quickly with their intellect that a change would make things better for them and others.
Step 2 - accepting, is the one that take sso long. Years we can be talking.
The reason why is that Step 2 requires the consciousness to process, and there are layers and layers of deepening acceptance before real steps to action can be taken.
Our work always come in in working on step 2 and narrowing the time delay in getting to step 2 and working through step 2. Step 3 and 4 happen naturally once step 2 has been worked through.
Conclusion: the key to change is in the conscious ACCEPTANCE of the change.
