To succeed in anything we need to get a grip on our will and focus it and drive it through the focus forward towards the goal. When we lose our grip on our will we stop still in our tracks. Not becasue we really want to but because our driving engine stalled. Aussie Mountain Pygmy Possum Will allows us to focus. With focus we also see the real. The real of our mind and the real of the physical world. With focus we can grasp and take hold of our will. Focus and will go hand in hand. We so desperately need to learn how to focus. Dark and Scary Dudes Some egos are really dark dudes occupying a scary presence within our own abyss (subconscious). As dark and scary as their emanations are, they are no more than a fragment of our own essence polarised on one side of duality. We may talk to this fragment of essence when it is radiating its dark and scary emanations and say to it: "You know what? I want the light, I want the way of my free essence, I don't really want your way of things, I don't want degeneration, karma and more darkness...".  Then it replies threatening!  Q: So, a question: What does it threaten with? A: It threatens with pure force (its amount of conditioned will) and its hypnotic and beguiling reasoning. That's all that it has! But the reasoning can be infinite drawing on many weaknesses. I think we can all cope with people who may hit our personality when there is just reason for it. That is, we did or said something that was inconvenient or out of place.  What pride has so much difficulty with, is when we are hit for 'free'. And certainly there are people around that like to hit for free. Obviously the "I" of pride will not like these people and will harbour some resentment towards them. But we may not know that our "I" of pride is upset at this characteristic of the person. Why resentment? Because a psychological debt has been created and that debt has not been transformed within us yet. We still feel unfairly treated by that person. Remember though, what each person considers fair is relative and we all have our own standards and views of what 'fair' is.  Anyway, back to that type of person. When we know why such and such a person bothers our pride so much, we can start to transform things and enjoy life again. ...

Remember Our destiny is not just yet all written in stone. It can be changed. New causes within us, are what our destiny. New causes are created with consciousness and will. A new cause is a conscious decision made for conscious reasons. The force of the conscious reasons motivate one to decide a new to invest their will into the new cause. Hermes leading the souls he rescued from Hades in the underworld. Hermes a symbol of the Intimate Christ makes new causes within us to redeem us. New causes are a decision on each level: on the level of will, on the level of mind, and on the level of emotion. New causes are like a lightning bolt that descend from the above within us modifying thoughts and emotions in their respective spheres thus changing the course of our life. The work on ourselves is the biggest new cause for our life. Though there are many new causes of a smaller nature within the work on ourselves. End (2935).

The psychological implications are so vast. There was the fall and then came the consequences. Each of these two stages has their psychology.  There was the psychology behind the fall, this psychology holds the psychological reasons and a bit of the ontological reasons as to why we fell.  Then there is the psychology of the mistakes that come to be as a consequence of having fallen.  Then there is also the psychology that further developed the "I's" that were created.  This is the psychology of combinations and transactions, and it develops the "I" and creates various other "I's".  Hence we have the three problems and their remedies to do with the ego: 1. Stop the creation of new "I's" by the transformation of impressions. 2. Weaken the existing ones by the action of the state of alertness 3. Eliminate the existing ones - Divine Mother End (2934).

Knowledge This post is about how the knowledge of an event in a past life can aid one's psychological work. After some reflection, I am coming to the conclusion that knowledge of past lives is part of the psychological work. Past Events It can be that something that we did in the past is the cause for the creation of a few egos and some facets of other egos. It could have also strengthened the egos tremendously.    Just one grave action which took a minute or less to commit unfolds into something that profoundly impacts our psychology which in turn affects our life and future lives. To Know Commonly people just prune a plant or a tree or cut it down all together without thinking about the elemental or the life of the plant or tree. The following excerpt from Master Samael's book "Igneous Rose" tells that plants and trees do feel pain just as we do and that there are esoteric procedures to follow before pruning a plant or tree, that actually avoid harm to the elemental. Which is essentially to ask the Divine Elemental to withdraw part of its elemental body from the branch to be pruned. In the excerpt below Master Samael gives the esoteric procedure to carry out before we ingest part of the plant for medicinal or nutritional purposes. Excerpt "135. When we tear part of a tree or a plant, the elemental feels the same pain that we feel when one of our limbs is torn from our body. 136. Before taking a plant, a circle must be traced around it, and it must be blessed. We must then beg the elemental creature for the desired service. ...

Before we can really die in this or that defect or "I" we need a certain level of definition. Not having the acquired level of definition means we can not really advance in the elimination of certain "I's". We progress then go backwards, we reconquer the lost ground then we lose it again and so on and so  on, repeating the cycle. When we are defined to live a gentle and peaceful life we can really eliminate the "I's" of violence, anger, annoyance etc. When we are defined to live a chaste life then we can really eliminate the "I's'" of lust, fornication etc. When we are defined to live a balanced life, one that abides by balance in all respects and areas we can really start to defeat and eliminate progressively pride and its many "I's". What do you reckon about that statement: "no evil without pride"? The way we can define evil is that of the direct opposite to the way Master Samael defines good, which is: "what is done by the consciousness and is in accordance with the law". So evil can be defined as that: "which is done by the ego and is not in accordance with the law". In pride there is always that rebellion against the Law. In evil there is that inherent pride that feels more sophisticated, more astute, less average, less boring, more daring and special for having challenged society, religion and the universal good... Pretty scary right is the pride in evil.  Pride is really a dangerous ego, to do any crime, pride has been there dismissing and disdaining the Universal Good, the Universal Right and the Universal Balance - which are all aspects of the Universal Law. When we have been working in our psychological death or transformation (something must die for something to be born) memories of our past surface so that we can comprehend that defect or "I" we are working on in a more integral way. When we see how an ego was created or at least strengthened we understand immediately why it is the way it is. We can also understand how it has evolved into what it is now. We know the karma involved and we know how we can pay that karma. In fact when we see the past of that ego, it is a very good sign, because it means we are getting close to paying off the karma involved in that ego. The psychological work is really something powerful. It is an encounter with our past through our present and it changes our future. One day I'll be specific about how this works so that you can see it directly in an example. End (2928).

We have been to so many places and done so many things in our past existences. At different stages of our current life the experiences that make up certain strengths and weaknesses surface. They surface in us as new enthusiasms, fads, insight, understanding, familiarity, nostalgia and or fears, worries, rejections, incompatibilities, non-conformance, etc.  The very interesting thing is that these past existence influences lie in waiting and surface at times which are unknown to us. But if we were to know those past existences better we can know when they will make their way to the surface in our life or again in our life.  End (2927).

I think that there is a good reason why human beings commonly don't remember their past lives. Thank goodness really that human beings don't... From the outside, remembering our past existences seems rather nostalgic, romantic, interesting and even fascinating. Well only for a while it is interesting, until one day remembering something really shakes you, to the extent of provoking a mini crisis. How could it be, we are here now in this life a law abiding citizen but before we were not...not at all. If we were to meet a murderer right now, we would find it so uncomfortable, it would be so awkward, scary even. A statement that Master Samael's Divine Mother made was that: "the past, present and future are one". This really can shock our mind... The ego that we have now is also the ego that we had in the past - the same one that did some awful things. The awful things that we have done in the past actually mark our psychology like you wouldn'...

When we are accused of something and it just does not hurt we don't or we just do not feel anything it is becasue we do not have that thing in our self-image. When we feel hurt and we protest and try to justify that we are not that which we are accused of, we for sure have that thing in our self-image.  We feel hurt becasue we believe that we have that value or virtue or that we need to be seen by people to have that value. When we are with people that to be with them we must be virtuous etc. and we are accused of not having that virtue or value we suffer like mad and need to repair our image before those people. But when we are with people who do not care about what virtue or value we have we don't need to repair to defend or pretend or anything. Unfortunately this is really the only way we can know what we have in our self-image. Being accused of things, whether it be false or true. End (2925).

When someone recriminates you and intends to extract an apology from you it is not personal to you. Well it is a touch, in the sense that they jumping on your back (your back not anyone else's) but it is not really personal. Read on to understand why. It is their pride working, and they simply have chosen to go with their pride and lend their services to pride so as to get what pride wants. They created their pride many existences ago and the function of pride is always to extract an apology and to seek compensation for having been lowered. Pride will do this with anyone. It is not really about you, it is about pride getting compensation for its own purposes to get even, to see itself back on top, to know that we are still good, to feel good about itself etc. ...
