Typically we think masochism is for 'strange' and very unbalanced people.
We also think that we are not all that strange...
However, looking closely and subtly we find that there are levels and degrees of masochism lurking within us.
These degrees of masochism exist in fact in the average person's psyche. These elements were created after the fall or played an active part in our fall.
Let's have a look.
To be enduring suffering when we have the tools to dissolve it is a degree of masochism. To be standing there receiving an ear bashing for free beyond the point is masochism. To be involved in making useless sacrifices is masochism. To put ourselves through intense efforts for others who don't care or won't take advantage or reciprocate for their inner progress is masochism.
Furthermore we take attitudes of repentance of which we don't have sufficient comprehension that become and act of masochism.
Masochism is something in the end mechanical powered by false sentiment.
The basis of masochism to be thinking or waiting or the other person to realise that they are treating you badly, when all the time we have a voice and two legs and arms to let the person know that that they are treating us badly, they are crossing the line and they should stop, when we known that in the same situation they would have told us to stop a long time ago.
We are all subtly with some egos a bit sadist according to the definitions above. For example, anger, greed, laziness, pride etc. inwardly smile at hurting others at certain points through inconvenience and hurtful words and difficult conditions.
End (6007).
