See the Bottom of the Well - (1708)

Introduction

When I was younger I would get so frustrated not being able to see the bottom of a drain. I would do whatever it took to see the bottom. We don't however need to look down drains any more because we have a very large and deep well within us right here and now, and that well is the well of of our psychology.

Deep Vision

Deep vision of ourselves is what we need. To find our well and stare right down the middle of it until we get to the very bottom. Then we can breathe a sigh of relief. Because we can see all that there is to see.

That is the ideal, and we can't always get there, the second best thing is to see as far down that well as our capacities will allow us.

Meditation

The well is the subconscious and the best moment to try and do this is in meditation. Sharpen the sense of inner self-observation. Sharpen the inner hearing and sight and in total silence perceive, probe, search to detect the subtlest voices, sounds and images of our subconscious.

If some drowsiness is present use it to see and hear but not lose your awareness to it and fall asleep, lost amidst the sounds and images of the subconscious.

End (1708).
