Drawn In
There is a certain drawing-in feeling, a feeling of being
compelled to think about and ponder about things going wrong and a complicated,
long and intrusive medical procedure being required.
It draws one in to think about it in relation to oneself and in
relation to family and friends.
Purpose of the Drawing In
The purpose it seems of being compelled to think about
medical procedures is to remind one about the wrongness or short comings of
life, as if to say; “See life sucks after all!”.
There also seems to be a sense of something wanting one to
know about this weakness so to face it, it is like it is saying: “Look here you
are weak, look how you are going to suffer in the future if something happens
to you or your family and friends! I don’t want to suffer!”.
This is all very interesting, that piece of sleeping or
conditioned essence is essentially clamouring or complaining about
suffering. Something or rather it, does not want to suffer, and so it brings
constantly what it fears to our attention for us to do something about it.
Right Response
So then, being scared is not the right response to it
constantly bringing what it fears to our mind. The right response to consult
reality, the Divine Law and our inner Being.
Thinking and thinking about it does not help just as I have
found.
So here we can learn that the first point of counteracting
this “I” of homophobia and phobia of medical procedures is to take this issue
into reality, that is become aware of our reality which is largely to do with
our karma and take refuge in our inner Being as the guide to help us to
comprehend.
End (1896).
