Because if we are awake we are not going to make a mistake again
and fall into the same or new types karma again.
Key - Awakening Consciousness
An awakened or awakening consciousness is really the only
thing in us that can know really how to live free of karma, not create new
karma or make worse the karma that is still left and pay or cancel our existing
karma.
Conclusion
It seems like awakening is the key to everything. The
precursor to awakening is mystical death. We need free essence first so that we
can awaken it. Mystical death feeds awakening and awakening takes mystical death
to full fruition. Just like the flower below:
