Judging is quite a karmic activity. Essentially for ourselves. I say this because so often it happens that when we judge others we end up in the same position as them and acting just the same. This is exactly the pattern of karm. It is as if the Law of Karma is saying don't judge leave that up to 'me'.
It is even worse when we verbally judge others. We end up being the same with an extra bit of humiliation on top due to the inconvenience we caused them.
Meditiaton teaches us not to judge mentally. While we are judging mentally we can't bring any stillness.
Not judging teaches us to not align the judging of ourselves with the judgements of others. For example, someone may say that what we are doing is a waste of time and we feel upset. Why we feel upset is because we then go and align the judgment of ourselves with their judgement.
When we are in control of the way we judge ourselves we are getting free from others and our egos. We increase our power to not get identified.
