I think one of the most important memories to have is that of dying. Even better is that of remembering life after death while waiting for a new body.
At the moment is a summary of our life. Where the most essential valuation of our life just lived is perceived.
So to remember this is to know the essence of the life we just lived. It is like to read the concluding findings of a report.
From these memories we can form a different view of death. A truer and more exact view.
These memories reveal information that break our concepts, that generally make us sit uneasy with death.
If we change the way we see and relate to death our life right now will also change. Our own life is very conditioned by the way we see death.
These memories tell us that death is not as bad as we think. That coming back here is worse to face our unpaid karma and the same egos as before.
It's very much like an going in for a operation. We are 'put under' then we wake up to discover if luck is on our side with the results: things went well or there were complications, little pain or a lot, long or short recovery etc.
The angels of death help us to make it an easy experience. They tell us that it will be quick, not so hard, you'll feel much better soon and you'll feel free...
In the nature of death is liberation and sublimation into the internal... It is not just a painful loss inot the unknown.
End (5810).
