Introduction
As simple and as great the tendency is to zoom past the stage of relaxation, it is very very beneficial to spend at least a week or more seeing everything through the eyes of relaxation.
If we are to do this experiment, we will see how so much of our spiritual practice is enhanced by taking relaxing into account.
Here are some applications that if we relax well, we can truly give ourselves a very good chance at successfully completing the practice or responding well to the situation.
1.) Listening
2.) Entering a sacred space or place
3.) Talking
4.) Understanding anything
5.) Reading
6.) Dangerous situations
7.) Stressful or hectic situations
8.) Dealing pain and suffering
Some Notes
Mastering relaxing our physical body will teach us next how to relax our psyche, which is most important of all.
To relax the spirit is different. It is relaxed with fulfillment and by right thinking, right feeling and right action.
If we are not relaxed something is wrong somewhere within us.
Relaxation is a true value. To relax is a conscious decision. Something that comes from within.
Relaxation is something that is decided from within and only our awareness is used to do it. Nothing external.
Everyone wants to relax and people seek it semi-consciously and always use something external to do relax, alcohol, drugs, a garden, a picnic, a movie, a book, a movie a lookout etc. etc..
To relax we need to observe ourselves. To relax we use awareness.
Work on ourselves begins when we relax.
Each true value has an opposite and that is laziness.
To be slouching in a chair all twisted is not relaxing as it is not conscious. What is conscious is ordered and harmonious.
When we skip relaxation our practice does not usually go too far.
We can also move relaxed. Meaning to move without tension. Our muscles do not have to be in complete tension to move.
For the mind to relax we need some kind of an order - or a plan. This teaches us that relaxation has order within it. Relaxation is not something ad hoc.
That was one of Master Samael's main daily practices was to relax and remember the Inner Being.
