Threats of many kinds are a common feature of our individual and collective psyche at some point. Especially when things are not going too well.
At the depth of it we make threats to get back some kind of power that we perceive has gone missing.
Either we have allowed it to go or it was taken. Often in the case when it was taken we allowed it to be taken. Sometimes it has never gone it just seems to be gone. This is definitely the case with our individual expression. In Western society we are all free all the time to express ourselves.
Either way to make a threat is a compensation, a cheap way using force to get the other to yield the power they have or have apparently taken.
The solution is to empower ourself. There are two ways to do that. One way is to empower ourself and take our freedom of expression back (just express don't think just express) or empower ourselves by truly letting go and dying to the 'need' for that power.
The key is in giving back inner power to ourselves.
End (5980).
