El Pino in Spanish is a really nice tree to meditate underneath. Being under a pine tree one feels a special kind of calm. Especially those pine trees that when the wind blows through their branches there is a swooshing whisper, like the mantra WU.
One can really get a deep quiet extending into the mind, especially if you're practicing early in the morning before dawn, before the surrounding area starts to wake up and get buzzing and humming.
In Japan, among many tree species the pine tree has a high regard. It is revered as a symbol of steadfastness, strength and constancy as it remains the same through every season, through the hottest summers and the coldest winters. It does not change colour nor shed any of its needles.
Master Samael also wrote in the "Igneous Rose" that the elemental of the pine tree is related to the mind.
"1. The pine is the tree of Aquarius. The pine is the tree of the new age. It is the sign of Aquarian thought.
...
79. The pine is the symbol of the mind of the new age."
End (3610).
