Some Facing Mind Tactics - (3607)

It is good to have a bit of info up our sleeves about how to deal with the mind.

When Negative and Sensitive

When we are in a very negative and hypersensitive state, one negative thought sets us spiralling down. In such a state the best thing is to not think, not even glance at the thoughts. Just ever so gently and nice and quickly let go for as long as necessary until our normal psychology starts to show the first glimpses of coming back.

Constant Bombardment

Being bombarded by one thought after another makes it very hard to analyse all the thoughts and look into them so to dissolve them. When our mind is like this we have to increase our alertness and use our consciousness to catch what it can in an instant and then let the thought go. For as long as necessary.

Negative but One at a Time

When the thoughts are spaced we can do it. When they arrive one after the other we have to select the thought we wish to dissolve, by means of analysis, seeing both sides of the thought, seeing the absolute value of the thought (the value which the thought is a positive or negative side of), inquiring into its truth or falseness, turning it around which is switching the relative reference point of the thought to an opposite reference point.

For example: "She thinks I am stupid.". Turning it around we get: "I am thinking I am stupid." or "I think she is stupid." or "I think that I am smart.". Then ask which one is truer. Obviously the first one is. That thought then remains nuetralised.

End (3607).
