When in a state of inner turmoil, certain emotions come to us. Some of these emotions come to us from others, from music, from movies, from memories, from our thoughts and fantasies...
But all these emotions don't really help us. They are usually a bit off track, missing the point and that does not help us.
Emotions are not really good advice givers. They change so often and the one that was advising us before goes and comes and others come and go.
What really helps is the clarity of the consciousness. A quiet mind. That is what we have to work on.
Even a sound practical plan from a clear mind is more helpful than emotions.
The control of emotions in such a state is very beneficial.
