Mental Commentary Gone by Doing and Being Aware - (5714)

When we are trying to be aware, often our mind starts talking narrating what is happening and thinking about be aware, instead of being quieter and actually allowing us to be aware and hold the knowing that we are being aware.


The problem seems to be that the mind takes over the knowing that we are aware by commenting and narrating.


There is a way to stop this. A way to stop this is to be doing something and being aware that we are doing it. The trick is to know what to do when we are aparrently doing nothing, such as in meditation.


When meditating we are always doing something. We are sitting and breathing and even imagining. So sit and breathe with the mind trying to do the breathing and sitting while our awareness knows that we are breathing and sitting.


Soon the mind will stop its narration and things will clear, we will have clear attention on breathing and our consciousness will be clear knowing that we are watching our breathing.
