Working Annoyances Represents Much Self-Knowledge – (1501)

Subconscious

If we decide to work on our annoyances, we stand to gain a lot of knowledge about ourselves. That is knowledge from within our subconscious. This is because what annoys us are often things that are absurd or really petty.

Also because there are usually a lot of things that annoy us, the more knowledge there is for us to gain about our own subconscious when we work on our annoyances.

Working on annoyances will make it easier for us to be around people, and also a delight for them to be around us.

It is precisely our own annoyances that make us to dislike being around people. This is partly because we know that we are going to get annoyed when people arrive and we are going to spend our time with them being miserable.

A light entering into the darkness.

Lift Level of Being

Generally, if a person is annoyed at everything their level of Being is a little low in the social aspect (they could be an excellent practitioner of the Alchemy and a great mystic), and so working these annoyances will help in lifting that level of Being in that specific area.

Kept Hidden

Annoyances are what we don’t show others because we don’t want others to see how petty we are.

It is mostly true that what we hide from others, we tend to hide from ourselves as well, or at least not accept in ourselves.

When we let others see our annoyances it is a sign that we trust them. Because our annoyances are usually expressed harshly, and because this often shocks and surprises people especially when what annoys us is trivial or petty, we tend to hide our annoyances from people especially those who we work with etc.

Conclusion – Benefits of Working on Annoyances

Annoyances more than anything else show up how petty our psychology is,  and discovering this is a great shock and surprise for us. This shock can be very useful for our work. It may impel us forward.

Studying our annoyances allows us access to the strange and difficult side of our psychology. It  also allows us access to the past, as many annoyances are expressions of the past living in the present.

End (1501).
