The “I” of envy has behind it lots of pride.
A central aspect to pride is the feeling of deserving and
fairness.
Pride in all its branches and derivations is very sensitive to
injustice, that is, to deserving, not-deserving, fair, unfair, honour,
dishonour etc. etc.
The typical expression of envy is that it, in its processes feels
that others don’t deserve their success.
So typical of envy. Envy hides behind a smiling face and words of flattering praise. |
Envy judges others too often as not be deserving of their
success and of course we feel that it is us that should have their success.
It is a blind ego, it does not see the law, which says that
one has what one deserves.
Once against envy is one of pride’s guises where there is at
the bottom of it a protest against the Law.
As Master Samael says, justice is the worst enemy of pride.
End (2647).
Thanks.
