Speaking languages, speaking intelligently, applying first aid, flying a plane, big business deals, ah all a whole crock of personality junk that does not have much meaning really, especially none for the essence, but yet is still alive deep in our psyche somewhere.
How about your list?
See that's the absurdity of the 'impress' fantasy. |
Basically vanity is behind these fantasies.
Vanity wishes to impress others favourably of course. But impress others relative to what we consider is impressive.
Vanity can be a bit nasty even, it likes to impress and then take joy in being aloof and mysterious so others can get to us.
Why do we want to impress? We want to give ourselves a boost, a conceited boost. A boost of the thoughts about others being impressed, which you know, may not be true at all. Vanity assumes and dreams.
But what is the conscious turn around? Just the opposite! Which is to truly help others or give to others taking joy in that. Behind the scenes in our psyche this kind of action boosts our nobility and qualities as an essence.
See how always the vane person helps nada!
End (3750).
