There are hundreds of ways to remain alert. Here is just
one!
The All or Nothing Way
Say to yourself: “I am not going to be distracted by one
single thought!” or “I am not going to allow myself to miss a single thought!”
or “I am going to catch every thought I have!”.
Substitute the word "sea" in the above quote with "Being" and it will make more sense! |
Such a totally inclusive approach makes us as alert as we
need to be to maintain alertness. If we just say to ourselves: “I am going to
be alert now” we only practice it for 20 seconds (if that) and forget for 20
minutes or more.
