The Unacceptable Identity of Every Ego - (1993)

Particular Identity

Every ego has a particular image or identity. With some it is very obvious and with others it is very subtle.

We also have a general image or identity.

It may be that we wish to be friendly and kind and for the most part we are (very good). However, the identity that each “I” has can be, and quite often is opposed to this general identity.

The “I’s” of pride, envy, jealousy, anger and lust can have very different identities to our general identity. Sometimes though is the level of Being of the person is low, there is not a great difference.

We Don’t have to Accept this Identity

Working on ourselves though we change and so we can firmly affirm to ourselves that the identity of each ego is cruel or nasty then why should I accept that identity when my identity is something nicer and I am much more comfortable with that?

For example, the identity of lust, is that of a very pushy, selfish, disobedient and actually nasty type of a person. It is an identity that wishes to take advantage of another person, without much consideration.

Here we can discover that we really don’t like a particular “I”, and that is good news because what we don’t like we end up naturally getting rid of.

End (1993).
