Self-Sentimentalism is a Low-State - (5774)

Have you noticed that being sentimental or emotional about ourselves never take us to high places.

It feels like it should but it just never seems to...

It always tends to take us to low states and leave us lower than before.

Being sentimental about ourselves leads to self-judgement.

The tendency to judge ourselves after being sentimental about ourselves is very strong. This is because the sentimentality towards ourselves makes us to experience inferior emotions which can only engender negative thought processes.

Then magically 'good' and 'bad' about ourselves appears and we feel as though we are 'doing nothing' and 'wasting our life'.

Such feelings come from being sentimental about ourselves and passing judgement about ourselves.

If say we are able to not take ourselves emotionally but intellectually we won't end up in a low state.

Taking ourselves intellectually affords some separation where we can see truth and therefore know what and how to change.

Then a positive outcome appears in our intellect (the possibility of change) and this engenders positive emotions.

Conclusion, dissolve seeing ourselves with sentimentally, instead see ourselves with truth that the intellect is very good at seeing. The emotion is often blind to the truth. It responds more to belief.

However, avoid being intellectual. Be conscious and use the right centres for a result that facilitates higher states of consciousness.

End (5774).
