Being aware of being aware is the natural state of the
consciousness. This is a very interesting statement.
We can not be conscious without our consciousness attention
being divided.
When we consciously direct our attention then we are
conscious. That is, when we know that we are directing our attention and we are
watching ourselves direct our attention we are conscious.
Why the Division?
Because the consciousness is fed and maintained by its own
focus. So to maintain our conscious state we must feed the consciousness being
conscious. For example, if we are focussing on our mind, then we also need to divide
our attention with one part on the mind and the other part on the conscious effort
of focusing on our mind.
