Not sure if you have ever watched the Monkey Magic series years ago. Anyway the rebellious but good Monkey wears a golden band around his head so that if he becomes disobedient Buddha up there in the clouds begins to tighten it giving him a huge head ache.
We have something like that in our essence. When we are rebellious, disobedient and neglectful in the work of dissolving a particular ego something in us feels the pinch.
This pinching is not done through an external golden head band but through our essence. Our own essence feels restless and uncomfortable.
