Finally here in Perth, the online classes can jump in the lake!
Zoom, Skype and Teams can stay where they belong in the interstate and international fields, but thankfully now, we can kick their beeehiiind out of the local field.
I imagine there will be a short period of adaptation involved, where one now has to get oneself use to making more effort, such as preparing things to leave, jumping into the car, finding parking around the corner somewhere, braving the cold wind, facing the people when entering the centre: receiving a gamut of impressions, from straight faces, and tired faces, to smiley faces and warm enthusiastic faces. Then making the effort to not get distracted and drift off because you can't turn off the camera or mute the microphone. Then back in the car, driving home for a half hour instead of just clicking the red hang up phone symbol and taking a couple of steps and sinking into the couch.
All of the above efforts were totally normal before COVID-19 and in a few weeks it will be normal again.
The real good thing now is that the work in the group can resume, because even though there were classes things were not quite marching.
End (3560).
