Because of a lack of consciousness and work in the person.
It is with consciousness that we can see the Master. Without consciousness of the work we only see another personality.
It is like a rough stone is only recognised as a diamond by those who work with gems.
If a person in truth does the same work that a master has done it is automatic that the person will respect the Master as he or she knows for real the qualities that one must have and develop to work on oneself.
If we ever lose respect it means straight away that we are losing our work!
