The Power is in the Inattentive - (3849)

The trick to getting any mantra to work is to get the inattentive part of our psychology to join in with the vocalising. When it finally does, then appears the power of the mantra. Before then, only partial effects really.

When we chant a mantra a division appears straight away. One part - the attentive part chants while the part underneath does not chant and distracts and detracts from the attentive chanting part.

Chant the mantra you little inattentive yellow man. That's what we have to say to our mind.

Relaxing the rebellion of the inattentive by patiently noticing its distraction and bringing it back to focus and join in with the chanting gets the greater inattentinve part on board.

This can take a while, and is a very good concentration practice. If the mantra is a beauty, it is worth taking the time and putting in the effort.

End (3849).
