I have to stress that these words are my notes only. The
thoughts and understanding behind them do not come from me but from the
terrific missionaries that lead the various activities during the retreat.
Reason Why
The reason why we can't renounce the ego is because we give
it so much value and a real (for us) function. We can't do without it. We think
anyway!
Conclusion
The key in conclusion is to find out how much value we give the
ego we can not renounce and also find out its function which we consider as
real and very valid in living our life.
For example, we give lust a function in our life and because
we give it a very important, real, valid and tangible function for living our
life, namely making our life more pleasurable and exciting we find it almost
impossible to live without.
