To Know when We Will Die - (6042)

One of the most important things to know in life is when we are going to die.

Why?

Because until then we think we have time.

We resist wanting to know when we are going to die, because we like to think that we have time yet, because we know that as soon as we know - then we won't have time.

Our life loses that dream-like romantic feeling.

To not have time is stressful and scary, and implies great responsibility.

Being asleep we know that we evade responsibility and we can't be blamed, becasue we simply don't 'know.

To know when means to accept what is realistic about where we can reach, instead of romantic wishful thinking.

Accepting the when changes everything. The coals of the fire in our belly can receive extra heat to burn brighter for the long final battle of this life.

When we know when, we have the responsibility on our shoulders of having to do something serious or not. To decide to do something serious or not, is a weighty decision, one not to be taken lightly and one if taken in jest, will can cause great lament.

To think we have time is an illusion. Our end date is already written and the only time we have is 'now'.

When we know when, we can die consciously. We can prepare and we have the greatest opportunity of life which is to be as ready as we can be for that final stage.

If all of our life is driven to take us to the exact moment and cause of our destined death it makes sense that it is one of the most important things to know about our life.

Full knowledge of a process is to know when it begins and when it ends. If we know when and how a process ends we can know the stages and the nature of these stages, the process will pass through. So we can know how our life will be in advance.

If we know when, we can always work change that when. We can not change what we do not know.

What do people do if they know they are going to die? They make a plan, which invariably leads them  to go back to the very essentials of their life. Which is essentially 'to be'. To be with their loved ones, to enjoy, to be happy, to rejoice in life and to make others happy. Most naturally evaluate their life knowingly or unknowingly trying to fuse all that was of value in life into one's eternal soul and prepare for the angel of death's scythe...

Attention with Mind, Attention with Essence - (5197)

These two attentions are different. Attention with the mind tires the brain. and reduces the flow of life into steps, where it is inevitable that the narration of the mind begins to take over. With the awareness of steps comes a certain tediousness and the feeling of the flow of life leaving us behind. With the attention of mind very little of what's behind events comes to us... Attention with the essence brings the power of presence, in other words brings a certain depth and continuity of flow  Attention with the essence doesn't tire or strain and opens doorways into perceiving what is behind events and the thoughts and feelings that appear within us. It allows us also to flow with the flow of life, which is a pleasant feeling. Conclusion, make the essence bring attention to outer and inner life. End (5197).

The Sacred Substance Askokin - (962)

Introduction In simple terms, the sacred Askokin substance is the result of the mercury and the sulphur. It is the transmuted energy that crystallises to form the internal bodies (astral, mental and causal). In other words, it is the transmutation of our sexual energies. The Abrustdonis’ and ‘Helkdonis that Gurdjieff mentions in the excerpt below, taken from “Belzeebub’s Tales to His Grandson” are none other than the elements of mercury and the sulphur so spoken about in Alchemy. Excerpt on the Sacred Substance Askokin “I first learned that the destiny of beings arising on this planet of yours is chiefly to elaborate—by means of the process of their existence—the vibrations required by Nature for the maintenance of those former parts of the planet now called Moon and Anulios, when, do you remember, I became worthy personally to converse for the second time with His Conformity the then still Angel, but now Archan...

Wisdom from the Movie “Kingdom of Heaven” - (2168)

Introduction There are some movies that leave you with some pieces of advice that at point or another in your life or in the lives of others prove useful. This movie: “Kingdom of Heaven” was terrible to watch (too many battle scenes and people dying) but offered some very useful messages. In this post, I have presented a few, that have come in handy at point or another. Just to give you a bit of context, the movie is about the crusades, where the French and English were trying to defend the “Holy City” – Jerusalem from Islamic occupation. The topic of religion and God is a constant theme in the movie. It is very violent though, matching it frankly, quite awful to watch. Your Soul is in Your Keeping Alone An interesting dialogue between the French appointed king of Jerusalem and French Knight, the protagonist of the movie. Note, the king wears that metal mask because he has leprosy. King Baldwin I...
