Know How to Differentiate Between Them
It is very useful to know how to differentiate between these
two feelings.
These two feelings definitely exist within us. Both feel
pleasant but the feeling of the essence is one that is light, profound and expansive.
It has a special flavour, it does not disadvantage us, it nourishes us, relaxes
us, fulfils us, inspires us.
Worldly Feelings
Worldly feelings within us are when we are praised,
re-assured, comforted, compensated, apologised to etc. These are the feelings
the “I’s” in us generate. They are very different to the feeling of the
essence. They are the feelings of self. Not of essence. The feelings of self-gratification,
self-praise all set relative to others are worldly feelings and are of the
self.
Essence Feeling
The essence feeling is the one that comes from the fruits of
one’s work, the satisfaction of having pushed oneself to a result, the feeling
of appreciation and wonder upon contemplating a sunset or sunrise or a river, a
mountain range or the vast ocean or the vast open spaces that is so characteristic
of our great southern land.
This feeling is the one more natural, refreshing and
fulfilling. Master Samael says the feeling of the Being is the same as the
feeling of the essence.
Contrast
We can contrast the two feelings so to know both of them
better and so to be able to choose one over the other.
Feelings Drive Our Life
Our life is driven by feelings, we go to great length just to
feel something. It the feeling that we want more than anything else. If we are wanting
more the feeling of essence our life is going to change because it will be
driven more into the work and into prayer and meditation where the feeling of the
essence can be felt.
Conclusion
If we know the feelings of eth essence we c an know what is correct
and right for us and what nourishes us and expresses more of the Being in us.
If we seek more the feelings of the essence our life will
change.
We can also be more based in the feelings of our own
essence. That is more and more derive more and more meaning from the feelings
of the essence.
End (1933).
