You Were Hurt – Could’ve it Been Any Different? Is the Other Person Really to Blame? - (1946)

Think the Other Person Could’ve Done Better? No they Couldn’t Because they Didn’t

These memories of having been hurt appear now and then in our mind. When we first remember the scene we don’t feel hurt but as soon as one or two of the “I’s” that we have begins to think about those events we feel the uncomfortable pain of the egos that are remembering.

We have to deal with this quite often in our life until those “I’s” that take the memories are dissolved.

One Thing that Helps

One thing that helps is ask ourselves, could have they done things better. Given that they have their egos as well, given that the impressions were strong for their egos? I think even to think inside of ourselves that they could have done better tis to dream and when we dream we suffer.

As soon as we understand that they could not have done better really, because if they could have they would have makes the offence upon us to feel less personal and therefore less painful.

The ego in others is not personal to us. It will go against anyone or anything that upsets it or interferes with its interests or plans.

End (1946).
